:errrr:

I need help! I've had so many people make suggestions about the way my wedding party's going to look, I need some advice from people who know what they're talking about. My plan for the wedding party is my girls will be in a chocolate brown dress with a pink empire waist and a pink underlay.

That dress, except with brown as the base color and pink as the accents.

Now for the guys I want a black suit with the same color pink as the girls have for their vests and ties. Is that going to look really bad? I did a dress your wedding picture that would be similar to what I want to kind of give me an idea, but it's not helping much. Here's how it turned out.

 or  ???

So you are worried about brown bridesmaid dresses with black tuxes?

It will look fabulous.. example one.. except the groomsmen in my bridal party didn't have pink vests, because DH vetoed it, but my ushers did and I still think it would look good. brown and black go fine together.

you can see here how my BIL (the tall guy on the left side of the picture) has a pink vest on and how it would look with the brown bridesmaid dresses.

Trinia, we had already looked at your wedding to know that the brown and black would look great together. But your guys have the brown vest and tie. What she is worried about (because I put it in her head, what are big sisters for :teehee:) is how it will look with the girls in brown and pink and the guys in black and pink.

I don't have anywhere near the same colors as you , but my girls were in red and the guy's ties/vests in gold, and I think it looked nice together. It was actually one thing that a couple of people commented on, how it was nice they weren't all matchy-matchy and that we brought the gold accent in more:

It's hard to see in this pic...lemme see what else I can find...

I think it'll look fine. From watching What Not to Wear as much as I have, Stacy and Clinton always remind the contributors that black and brown are both neutrals so they can go together, so they'll definitely look fine next to each other. Plus I think it'll help that everyone will have the pink accents.

Don't listen to what others say... do what you want! (I wish I hadn't listened to what others said about my BM dresses, I really wanted black and I still wish I would have done black)

Thanks everybody. I think if it was any lighter of a brown I wouldn't have a black tux...but the dresses are such a deep brown I think I'll be ok. And then the pinks aren't exactly the same color but they're as close as we can get...hopefully I'll be ok.

I feel better now that all of you think it'll look fine. :relieved:

i agree.....
if they are a choco brown, and you tie it all together with pink accents - it'll be fine.
its your wedding! do what makes you happy!

I see what you are saying, which why I posted the picture of my BIL(An usher) who was in a black tux with a pink vest next to the brown BM dresses.. :D

I still think it will look fine

I think what you are going for will look great, with both the men and the ladies wearing pink on them.

I agree with what the others said, about doing what you want and you like, not what others say. You are the one that is going to be looking at the photos forever, not them. Do what your heart tells you.

I think it will look good! My girls wore green dresses and carried pink roses. My guys wore black tuxedos with black vests and a pink rose. Then my DH had a black tuxedo with a white vest that matched the color white of my dress and he had a pink rose. The GM's didn't even complement the BM's, especially once the BM's weren't holding their bouquet's anymore! I think black and brown will look fabulous, and I think Trin's wedding was awesome! I love black and brown together. And blue and brown together :)

For my friends wedding the girls wore brown with a honey colored sash and the guys wore black tuxes with honey vests.

Thanks for the reassurance! FSIL just had me freaked out about putting black and brown together...but the more and more I thought about it I wasn't too worried. It's a deep enough brown...I'm sure it's going to look ok!
