I have never had facial breakouts until NOW! What is a good face wash? I have been getting breakouts on one side of my face and now that its time for Christmas pictures I cant get them done. Ive never used any acne face wash before so I dont know what to buy!
Someone please help!

If you're looking for an acne cleanser, you want something with Salicylic Acid. I recommend Neutrogena cleansers, I can't remember the specific one I used to use, though. Cetaphyl (I think that's how it's spelled) is good too!

Proactiv- I've only heard good things about it so far!

I have had more problems with acne as an adult then I ever did as a teenager. I started using Philosophy's Purity cleanser at night as a make-up remover. Then I use their microdelivery exfoliating wash in the mornings. It has worked wonders for me.
But if you want to try one that is specifically for acne, my step-daughter uses Proactive and really likes it.
there is a whole thread on here about proactiv....
i am one of few ppl who had a very bad reaction to it. my acne was ten times worse when using it then it had been previously. - they say it has to make it worse to build up resistance or something, i don't really recall the specifics - but they basically told me it was normal to have a worse break out and that it would get better. i apparently didn't respond well to the components in it, so never really got better until i stopped using it.
i now use something a doc recommended (clyndamyacin phosphate topical solution) and it is amazing.
regardless - for a quick need, you are better off starting with things like Kathy mentioned... in store cleansers with salycilic acid.

I've used Proactiv and saw a slight improvement but nothing to make me keep using is.
I use the Clinique acne solutions line and it has really helped alot. I use benzoyl peroxide spot treatments afterward and I'm clearer now than I have been in a long time.
ETA - I have really oily skin and salicylic acid actually makes it worse.
Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that helps, but it needs to be used sparingly. It will dry out and irritate your skin if you use too much.
Hope you find something that works!
