:jawdrop: Wow. It's pretty, but... couldn't she have had a wedding 1/10 that size and done something a little more productive with that money?

 I'm sure she could. I think it's a little over the top for one day.

Yea this is the kind of crap that ticks me off. The wages for Walmart workers are so crappy. (I know from personal experience.) Yet the owners live like kings. Such waste, such excess disgusts me.

Well, she is such an outstanding example of how to live responsibly with wealth...

What a role model, wow. I hate that SOME people that grow up with money have such an entitlement complex that they think they shouldn't have to work a day in their life at ANYTHING. How lazy.
The wedding was beautiful though. Gosh she sure loved her town -- she loved it so much no church in it was good enough so she had to build a new one. Sorry, but the fact that she's a cheater really puts a bad taste in my mouth for the whole wedding. :shrug2:

That's what gets me-- One family here in town built a chapel for their daughter's wedding, on their land, but then they LEFT IT UP. As an investment, since she is an event planner, and they rent it out for other weddings. If you're going to spend that kind of cash, at least leave the cathedral up as a gift to the town!

Why am I not surprised that she bought her degree? With morals like that you can only imagine what her mother is like! No wonder Walmart pays so crappily!
I thought the wedding was beautiful........................

I'm sure the wedding was beautiful for $17 million- I just wish this person realized how much the Walmart employees and their families SUFFER from day to day, such as one of my clients who cannot take her chronically ill child to the doctor because there's a $50 copay every time, and she makes minimum wage. (And due to having the POS Walmart insurance, cannot qualify for Medicaid or anything else to help.) :disbelief:

Yea they scheduled me 38 1/2 hours a week so I wouldn't qualify for their insurance or any other benefits. In orientation they encouraged new employees to apply for medicaid. Since I was making only $5.85 an hour and a single mom I had no choice but to apply for welfare. That motivated me to get my bum back in school. Walmart had no respect for my school schedule. Other family members have worked at different Walmart stores, and they said Walmart treated them the same way. Working at Walmart was better than no job at all though.

Yea, I don't understand why they didn't leave it? What the heck was the point of building all that for only a few hours?

As a 2007 alumna of the University of Missouri, I *ABSOLUTELY DESPISE* Paige Laurie, based simply on principle. The Laurie family disgraced and made a fool of Mizzou for living up to their end of the naming rights purchase (AKA: rubbing their exorbitant wealth in our faces for the benefit of their worthless, spoiled brat daughter). The more details that emerged about the story, the more I hated her.
The athletes who sport the black and gold uniforms in our campus facilities aren't always the brightest bulbs in the box, but, having taught dozens of them, they worked harder than Paige ever did in college. They **earn** their degrees. Let's name a stadium after someone who at least ATTENDED our school, and didn't run off to SoCal with her nose in the air only to return to show her "folksy, midwestern" side at her wedding.
In Addition: There are FIVE Wal-Mart affiliate stores (one Sam's Club) in Columbia. I'm sure the employees would love an explanation as to why they're being manipulated out of full time benefits while this lazy b!tch gets a multi-million dollar wedding!!

LOL, *patpat*
I had to look this up, as I wasn't sure what you were talking about. They definitely over-indulge their daughter.
The wedding was gorgeous, I still stand by that, but she doesn't seem like a deserving person...
