How soon before your wedding was your bridal shower?
What do you think is "too early" or "too late" - does this change if the shower and wedding are in different cities?


(sorry if this is not the right place, but there doesn't seem to be a good place for wedding shower threads - feel free to move it around as needed)

I had two, one was 7 weeks before the wedding and the other was 5 weeks before.

Mine was 8 weeks before.
A friend of mine had her's 2 weeks before. I thought it was a tad too close.

Mine was about 6 weeks before. A friend of mine had her's about 2 months before her wedding.

Because you're about 4 months out, I think you're out of the "too early" category :)

Mine were about 3-4 months before

My first shower was in August, so 2 months before the wedding and my second shower was about 6 weeks before the wedding.

I think the latest should be a month, the rest of the time your going to need for yourself and any hiccups that come along.

Mine was a month before - pretty much so I could use a three day weekend (Memorial Day) to travel to MI.

That might be pretty close, but not unacceptable, I would think.

I can't remember when mine was - I think it was about 2 months before the wedding?

We're planning on holding *Kim*'s about 3 months before her wedding.

As for one 3 weeks before the wedding, my only concern would be how busy the bride was with preparations, and how many OOT guests that were invited to the shower (I think I'd be more likely to be able to attend a shower a few months before the wedding, then return for the wedding, versus 3 weeks in between the trips).

If those two conditions were taken care of, I think it would be completely acceptable :)
