Holy generic title!
I want to put together some ideas before I talk to my florist. The only problem I'm having is that I know nothing about flowers. I see pictures of some I like but I don't know the names. Does anyone know of good flower sites to educate me?
Sorry no sites, though you can check some of the bulk sites to see photos of different colors of roses and calas and stuff.
I wouldn't worry too much about types, that's what your florist is for :) The best thing to do is go in knowing what colors you are looking for and of course, time of year of your wedding, and your florist can help you pick out the best options. Then you can decide what you like :D

I agree with Jaci. I wouldn't worry too much about the names of the flowers. You can always print out what you like online and show the florist what your preferences are. Flower shops normally have books too that display different wedding bouquets and centerpieces. Flip through those and discuss what you like and don't like.

Hey there! I know she's busy right now with school, but one of our new memebers, SunAngel, used to be a florist. I bet you could post some pictures of bouquets you like and she could tell you what flowers they are and let you know about seasons. I'll get ahold of her and direct her to this thread :)

Thanks guys!
The reason I'm into gettting the names is because I saw an arrangement in a bridal magazine that I loved (minus a few flowers) but just the company was listed not the flowers. My florist would of course know what flower it is, but I do want to see more arrangements.
Here are some of the sites I used:
http://ccfc.org/ - tons of different flower pics with names
http://greenleafwholesale.com/ - GREAT for rose colors!
http://www.flowerparade.ca/
http://aboutflowers.com/
http://growerdirect.com/

Try freshroses.com. They have great pictures of lots of flowers, not roses. :)

The sites posted are great, you should have a problem with talking to your florist about flowers. They will answer all your questions at least they should.....
