I Love fizbobunny's table! It looks like something right out of a magazine!

For our cake table we would like votive cups around the cake, some shells and sand (or brown sugar, more likely) spread out in front of the cake w/ our names written in the "sand". Here is the inspiration photo of the sand idea:

my inspration is a compilation of many I had seen on UW. I knew I wanted pictures somewhere and then my aunt had an extra arch and I thought we should use it witht he cake, I had a vision in bed the night before of how the tulle should go..
I liked the way it turned out..

Miss Sparky - The sand is a GREAT idea! Maybe you should go with a light brown sugar because it's better to taste that on a cake rather than sand;)

Sara - After reading your wedding story and seeing your cake table picture it inspired me:) I'm using rose petals, letters that spell out "LOVE" that I painted in my color "Lilac", but I decided not to use candles. Thanks for the pic and blessing me with the ideas!:)

Thank you!! We've had so many compliments on how good the cake was and it just makes me mad I didn't make time to have a full piece - I can't really remember what the few bites we had tasted like :( I think I am going to have to have them make us a fresh top tier to go along with the frozen one lol.

I say go for it:) Especially with those pregnacy cravings...the more you think about it the more you'll crave! LOL What flavor did you have? Was your cake buttercream?

BTW - I know this is out of the blue but you are so BEAUTIFUL!!:) You have features that resemble Reese Witherspoon. My FH is from a Chicago suburb too...have you ever heard of Wilmette?

Thanks *blush* :) I've been told I resemble Reese Witherspoon since "Fear" came out. Even FIL said that one day lol. Our cake was buttercream but I can't remember off the top of my head what flavors it was :( I know we had a mix between layers but I'd have to look up our paperwork to get exactly what we ended up going with.
I do know where Wilmette is! Its north and we're west of the city - Its about an hour and half drive from here depending on the traffic. My Sister lives in Winnetka which isn't too far from there at all. :)

I like the shiny fabric...I bought some in our shade of pink...and petals..and candles I love. Yeah so that but more in a pink theme with cake table letters. Then the petals and scattered candles I imagine.
