John & Venus Yesterday, Today, & Always 7-29-06

I'll start this off by saying that "Wedding Week" was exhausting, but the end result was absolutely wonderful. I don't want to get too far into this until I have the pics to post with it, but wanted to at least get a start. July 28th was our RD, no pictures taken that Im aware of. I misunderstood our pastor on the time, and it seems I was the only one who misunderstood so I went from thinking I had an hour to get ready to having like twenty minutes:happysigh: But I pulled it off and we headed to the site. My girlfriend helped line out the girls after a brief run down of what I was looking for. Well we cued the music and the girls all but raced down the aisle :hehe: The pastor briefly went over wording and the song his wife would sing, and then we called it good. But during dinner we made a few more changes, one being that the Jr. bridesmaid would not have the real rings but that my matron of honor (my sister) and John's best man (his father) would already have them. Explained to the girls that they were going to have to pace themselves. Dinner consisted of homemade beef & chicken enchiladas, spanish rice, beans, and green salad which was very tasty. Everyone stayed at the site to finish decorating.
John's dad asked that we come down to the motel that they were staying at. So we headed there and they wanted to give us our wedding present and then we talked them into going over to the lounge next door and John got the opportunity to sing for his dad for the first time:pixiedust: The pride and the tears in his father's eyes were priceless and the joy on John's face while singing for his dad was a frozen moment in time. :) :clap:

The morning of the wedding, FH and I pretty much just took our sweet time getting moving. I took a leap of faith and left the last details up to my family. My girlfriend Krishna came down around mid morning and somehow unofficially became my day of coordinator, thank goodness!!!. My one daughter who is 15 obsesses about her hair and makeup, so I let Krishna be in charge of getting her lined out, Krishna deserves the medal of valor just for that task, :laugh3: Anyway, the ceremony was to start at 3:30 so FH got ready and my cousin hauled him away around one. I fought my way to the bathroom between about 8 teenage girls and I WON:jump4joy: . Things were pretty basic in the getting ready department for me, did my hair, some makeup, got dressed and arranged my hair wreath, I am so glad that I requested combs be attached to the wreath it sat perfectly without any additional pins or clips. Butterflies arrived around 3, you know the ones in the pit of your stomach:hehe: , My uncle came back after driving all the girls over to the ceremony/reception site.And we kinda of just chatted til about ten minutes before the ceremony. So here I am in heels all dressed up climbing out of a big black Dodge Ram 4x4, hey its a sharp looking truck:hysterics: , anyway I pulled it off. Of course people were still arrriving so we hung out in the parking lot for awhile. By the time folks settled down we were about 15 minutes late getting started but it was all good................

The house or manuf. home will be completed Aug. 31st, then we set up for delivery. The property has been cleared and we are pouring the foundation this Saturday. Im getting excited already tired of living in a 30ft travel trailer, esp since now im married and still dont get to sleep with my husband :happysigh:

The cake was totally awesome, it was homemade carrot cake, a layer of choco, and a layer of vanilla, and all for the extrodinary price of $90.00

She was recommended by a friend who is now a caterer. This lady does this as a hobby because she enjoys it. She even delivered it and set it up. I had checked at local bakeries here and minumum was $400.00 and none would delivery and set it up. The amazing part was that the cake was not only exactly what I had hoped for, it tasted totally sinful.

I am personally thanking my parents and everyone for making the day so special and it took every ounce of courage I had to get on that microphone and speak, but it was something that I really had to do because my family made everything so special and I wanted everyone there to know it.

Well the guests finally settle in and my nephews start the music, had three songs picked out, the first was what the girls were walking down to, "Cross my heart" by George Strait. That went fine they paced themselves well and my girlfriend Krishna kept things rolling along, then the second song was my entry song, I saw the girls were all up there and waited for my cue, no music, now John (DH) had mentioned something about doing something different on my entry but never said for sure he was going to. Next thing I know he starts singing (Acapello-no music?) I had heard him sing this song once before when we were first dating as just the two of us were standing alone on the beach watching the waves come in, it was a song he wrote himself, (side story, The day we were standing on the beach and he sang me this song, I was standing in front of him leaning back against him listening to the song, it was like time stood still, well the strangest thing happpened next, a lady we had never seen before comes out of nowhere, and said "I'm sorry to distrube the two of you but I just had to come up and tell you, that I've never seen a more perfect picture, the two of you together are a beautiful couple and you look so in love and at ease standing there together" then she walked away". Ok back to the ceremony, so he breaks into this song, and I can see him looking toward the door, so we start our entry, The song is beautiful and here is my man, my soon to be husband standing up there singing this song he wrote with big bear tears running down his face, well needless to say that lost it for pretty much everyone, guess I should of supplied kleenex packets. I walking toward him biting the inside of my cheek because all I can think is " I cant cry, I didnt put on waterproof mascara"................

Side Note : We're using "Cross My Heart" as Dan's dedication song to me at the wedding :) He made me listen to the entire thing in silence on one of our first dates.

The necklace was handmade by my sister and is made of australian crystals, beads and dentilla; dentilla was actually used like money in the Tolowa culture way back when.

Saturday we poured the concrete for our foundation, our home is suppose to be completed and ready for delivery on the 31st of August. Im getting so excited about it all coming together, Im already thinking lawn, plants, trees, etc :jump4joy: I so want out of that travel trailer and at least some distance from my parents. Love those people with all my heart but a little too close to our business at the moment. Still looking at another three weeks, but its all taking shape now.

WOW!!! Your wedding must have been amazing and something you'll never forget! I want DH to sing during our ceremony and hope neither of us cry! He sang "When I said I do" by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black at his parent's 50th anniversary/renewal ceremony and couldn't get through it without tearing up, hope he does better for ours...lol. That had to be a special moment for you.

I love your outfit!!! You looked beautiful and so happy! I really like how you had everyone sitting at their tables for the ceremony. Hadn't thought about that...hmmm. May have to steal that idea.

Hey Patty, thanks for stopping by, yes since the ceremony and reception was all in one place it worked out perfectly and the way we V the tables made it easy for people to get in and out and see. As you can see we were pretty casual compared to most but hey at our age we just want memorable and that was definetly accomplished

Well you read about the ceremony, all went wonderful. Our reception was at the same location. We had a potluck reception with my folks providing the meats etc and then everyone brought a side dish.
