we had 2 cakes, a navy rum cake ( that was lethal!!! ) and for DH a chocolate mud cake.. with personalised chocolates for favors.

For dinner, there was a shrimp cocktail, then soup, then salad, then choie of filet mignon or chicken samuel (chicken cordon bleu in a puff pastry shell), dessert of baked alaska, the wedidng cake and a dessert display at the end of the night.
There was lotsa food and it was amazing!!!!!

We're doing an Italian buffet served family-style:
Cesar salad; roasted chicken; roasted potatoes; pasta; meatballs; sausage; and I KNOW there is other stuff, though I couldn't tell you what right now.
Wedding cake and ice cream.
Because we're having so much food for dinner, we're just doing cheese and crackers and veggies for hor d'ourevres.

Basia it's funny, but it seems like you and I are having a lot of the same/similar menu choices! I agree with Beth about the Filet Mignon. Men like to have some say in the food, at the very least, lol. That's what I learned with Josh. All the choices were mine, but he wanted a say in the food, the cake, and the music. :hehe:
