Hey everyone i must apologise for leaving for so long but as my computer suddenly died on me, then we had considerable trouble trying to get the "new" one to work, ive been internet deprived for a while lol.

i have great news though, we FINALLY know what route we are taking with the wedding planning and i cant wait to share it all with everyone!

im so excited to announce that we are getting married in Hawaii!!!:excited:

lol sorry, i have way to much left to plan! we were supposed to be gettign married this august but the plans got ppushed back a year b/c my FH was on strike at work for almost 3 months. unfortunatly that cut into the savings.

this MIGHT BE my maid of honors dress (crossing fingers). im only having a maid of honor a junior bridesmaid and my daughter as the flower girl, but i am having considerable trouble trying to find a junior bridesmaid dress in a similar style that isnt all princessy and full length.

oh and the reception is pretty easy too, we are going to the paradise cove luau for the reception! we went the for my 21st birthday and loved it so much so theres dinner and entertainment for the night! its a little bit pricey, but in the long run it will be alot cheaper than renting a space, dinner, entertainment, decorations, etc. and since most of our guests have never been to the luau or hawaii it will be fun for everyone!

exactly what we want, i tried to plan the big family and friends wedding, but it was a war over everything, and it felt more like a "showcase" than a wedding. id rather have fun then feel like im being judged by everyone and deal with all the drama.

mel - thank a bunch! at least i know im not crazy doing the luau thing, ive had a few werid comments from friends and family about how "tacky" it is. tacky or not i'll know everyone had fun! i already know if we do the whole reception thing it wont be much fun, no one will dance, everyone will be uncomfortable, etc. this way dylan and i can enjoy ourselves along wiht the close family and friends who are coming (and i wouldnt mind volenteering my brother for this hula thing for the guys so i can laugh my butt off! :hysterics:)

ok so ive found my "special thing" for our wedding, this is something ive always wanted to do. we are going to do a Butterfly Release for our wedding. imagine this: we are on the beach, waves splashing against the shore, and the JP/minister pronounces us husband and wife then we kiss. then everyone releases their monarch butterflies at once in celebration! :floating:

I never thought of altering a dress that much until my friend's cousin was planning her wedding and the steamstress made that suggestion.

Soooooo.... i have a wedding planner!! yeah this will help so much! a girl from work (i started a new job about 3 months ago) used to be a full time wedding planner, she has offered to help me after relizing just how lost and confused i was in the planning. im so excited to have someone to kick my butt when im not doing what i should be! :jump4joy:

on top of it all i went dress shopping today!!!!!:excited:
i just went to try on a few different styles to get a really good idea of what i wanted (and because ive been dying to go play dressup :hehe:) and ive officailly changed my mind on poofy dresses. although i refuse to "say yes to the dress" until ive tried on that Pronovia one i fell in love with. at first i found it very frustrating because the first 2 places i went to were terrible (the first one was completely unprofessional and about 16 years old! and the second place i went the ladies were VERY snobby) the last place i went was very helpful and made the whole experiance alot of fun, especially when i commented that i did NOT want a poofy dress and she purposly put me in a big ballgown princessy dress with hoops lol we all got a chuckle out of that!:laugh3:

anyways my MOH is going to be emailing me the pictures. and i will post them up ASAP!

shes been to hawaii once, she more or less helping me get on track and doing the details, like for instance invitations, and getting me going witht he planning. ive been kinda jumping around from thing to thing, and not getting a while lot done besides google searching. so i think i need her to get my butt in gear, it also helps she as military background! :caught:

I really loved the 3rd one too, except when i turn to the side i kinda looked like i was pregnant, the front had no structure whatsoever and since i cant only be seen from the front and back for my wedding it was declared a no, but i would like to look for a similar dress.:)

i kinda fell in love with the 5th one. although in the picture is doesnt look as nice as in person. and it was poofy to boot! lol the train was quite nice (the consultant is holding it in a bustle in the pic) and it was a very nice light material, so it would be nice for the beach. i may just go back for that dress! and it was less than half my budget! i know i liked it because it was the only one i asked "how much?" :hehe:

so i went ahead and ordered some free samples of wedding invites the other day. im quite excited to get them in the mail! i cant wait to see what "my possible invites" would look like! I was going to make my own invitations, but have been thinking that it might be cheaper for me to just order some since im only going to need about 10. I've noticed though that most sites wont let you order less than 30. :( does anyone know anywhere i can order only 10?

I have that problem too. I only need like 5 or 6 at the most and the place I'm ordering from only does 20 minimum, so I'm having to suck it up and order extra. So annoying.

the alternative, is to have someone just do the design, and then get them printed yourself... (thats actually what i did anyway, even though i had a big wedding, and it worked well for me.)

hey everyone!

wow its been a crazy last few months!!!! ive barely had time to be home let alone on the computer!!!

so as a update to everyone i wont be gettign my dream dress!!!:mecry:
i finally found a store that carried it and could give me a price... $7,650!!!! ouch.
so i will either have to hope to win the lottery or find a new dress.

also i am moving! we found a 3 bedroom duplex and jumped on it, so excited to have room to move! :)

also i started another direct selling business and it has been taking off, so between that one and my candles ive been incredibly busy!

I also found a lady who will be hand making my invitations and i will be meeting with her soon to see the samples she came up with :) i of course will be posting pictures!

i hope everyone has been well since ive been gone and i wonder who got married while i was gone!!!???:floating:

actually becki i stumbled upon a wholesaler last night and accidently foudn my dress for $500 USD!!!! now im just wondering if i trust the wholesaler enough to buy it from china! lol

I saw the Invitation Samples today!!! Im so happy I went through this lady, shes making them all handmade and they are sooo cute!! She knew exactly what I was going for and I cant wait to get the "Final Sample" to take pictures of for you guys! I made a few little changes (the flower on the front wasnt the one Iwanted but I asked if she could do a different one I saw which looks just like a pink plumeria which I want for my bouquet. and a little bling here and there and Poof! :pixiedust: exactly what I wanted!!! :D And I just love some of the beachy ideas she added as I wasnt sure how to add them in there without turning it tacky. ( I hope I dont offend anyone with that last comment!!! ) I was jsut going for more fun and elegance than beach. it just so happens that we just picked Hawaii :lolroll:. ok as im now rambling b/c im so excited im going to stop now :)

Oh ps. we just moved into a beautiful Duplex!!! 3 Bedrooms, I love it! im so happy to have room to move and breath and TONS of windows!! YAY no more cramped tiny condo!!:jump4joy:

not stalkerish at all lol its pretty hard to find nice places around here. unfortuantly this duplex has turned more into a nightmare than the dream place i thought it would be. lots of internal problems! but isnt that just typical. we are now in Stony Plain. I wasnt able to find a whole lot of duplexes in Spruce Grove for rent, so i looked in Stony Plain. there are quite a few nice places for rent here.

I actually do Home Parties if your interested in looking at some of the product. I also sell Gold Canyon candles as well :)

So today was not the best day... so I made it better! I purchased my first piece of "wedding jewelry" today!!! :excited: I happened to wonder into a store on main street here called Lady Bird. I never knew they sold wedding accessories! I happened to find this bracelet and fell in love with it... soooooo i bought it :D
better yet they are having their Anniversary Sale so i got it 25% off! Always the budget bride lol.

Thanks Amy, this is the 3rd time we've pushed it a year lol but good news we may just be having it anyways, ive found another wedding company in Hawaii who is willing to give us pretty much the same package as the other one for $5,000 cheaper! Dylans parents have offered to pay for our plane tickets, so all i need is a dress and a comfy pair of flip flops and we might just be on our way down that aisle !!! :floating:

OK so its been a while and the wedding planing is on a roll! I've been conversing back and forth with Leah from Hawaiian Eye Weddings via email and so far everything is on track. I wont be able to have the arch on the beach like i wanted as the beach has underground sprinkler system, but thats fine. we ares still doing the flower pathway and im on my way to getting the dress (not the one earlier posted as its $7,800!) now ive been looking at this Dressilyme.com does anyone have any reveiws for me on this? So far I havent heard anything bad, but you never know! anyways next on the list confirm te date with Leah as it just changed because Hubby couldnt get the time off work and then Invitations!!! :) I have a wonderful local lady making them for me and I cant wait to post pictures!!!:excited:

Yes 5 dresses!!! Im terrible at making up my mind!! lol the best part is they are all UNDER $200!!!! I love wholesale!! lol and I also read up on reveiws for this site and very minimal complaints i was quite suprised to be honest. anyways i think thats about it for mow. oh and i may have found a new ring (butterfly of course) as the first one caused me to have an allergic reaction. :( im still really sad about that. but i guess we can have everything we want! :)

I personally think all the dresses are great! You just want to be careful with what fabrics they are made of since you don't want to get too sweaty and start to have stains on your dress.

I got married in Mexico and I just had a normal wedding dress not a light/destination wedding dress and I was comfortable all day!

Ok so finally back on track! Lol between wedding planning trying to get a mortgage, working fulltime, runnirunning a at home business, family drama, and children (im counting dylan in the "children" catagory right now lol) wedding planning is back in full swing. Invitations: chec k. Wedding deposit paid : check. Dress: .... Having issues deciding... Explination to follow when im not typing on my phone lol. Rings: being made. MOH dress: in progress. Plane tickets: in progress.

Well at least I feel like im getting there lol. I will be posting pics of the wax ring mod as soon as I get the final design. And I'm hoping you fantastic wedding pros can help me out with my dress dilema soi can get that finished and off my list!

OK so now that I FINALLY have a moment to sit down and explain the dress issues im having lol here it goes... So my mother (who was dragged kicking and screaming) and my MOH and I went dress shopping. I was SURE right from the get go I was going to be getting the Maggie Sottero dress that I have been in love with for 4 years. turns out it was a beautiful dress but not "THE" dress. I tried on a bunch of other styles and ended up falling in love with two. mind you my budget is VERY low since everything thats been going on. being so close to my wedding date the chances of ordering them in time is pretty unlikely but the two i fell in love with i could get in time. one was a beautiful lace mermaid. and the other was a very flowy A-line. both very different styles. the mermaid is about $1900 (plus would need extensive alterations) and the A-line was $800 and would aslo need some pretty major alterations. both with alterations would put me over budget. so I turned to the website I was thinking of ordering from and neither dress was on there. although I found some very similar. all of the dresses on the website were under $400 ( nicely below budget). my problem is I CANNOT decide I'm so in love with both dresses and they are both soo different I dont know which direction to go in.

thanks Becki and Beth. Yes thats exactly how I feel about that one too. I actually found one similar at a local store and tried it on and I am for sure getting the "wavy" one lol very excited I've finally made a decision on that!

so now all I have left is:

-order the dress and flower girl dress
-book the plane tickets
-accessories for myself and MOH.
-pick up rings
-and get the guys clothes (thats the easy part haha black board shorts and white button down sshort sleeves)

and i think thats it. now as long as everything goes as planned im on my way to Hawaii!!
