I had GREAT nails a year ago. School started and I lost them all. Now, they keep splitting and breaking.
What nail products do you swear by?

I love nailtiques. It's a little expensive, but worth every penny. You should be able to get it at the drugstore, try number two, I think.

Cindy, I completely understand the school = bad nails equation. I've had a hard time keeping mine nice too. I don't actually use anything on nails now, but I do take a daily hair, nails, and skin vitamin that seems to have helped. I also try to keep them shorter now and clean. Teaching and good nails are tricky unless you want fake ones and well, I don't.

Becki, I don't want fake ones either! What kind of vitamin? Is it an OTC?

Yep. OTC. I just go to the Vitamin Shoppe and pick them up. There are a few different types. I learned about it from my mother who made me take them in college because my skin was so bad. It takes a while to work, but after about a month you can tell whether they're working. Then again it's like that with any vitamin. Takes about a month for them totake effect.

I use the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth clear nail polish. I have a terrible time with biting my nails....and I wear latex gloves everyday at work, and it doesn't help with keeping my nails long and healthy. So I tend to use the maximum growth stuff, it says to put it on for 10 days in a row and then switch to the 2nd phase...I've never gotten the 2nd phase stuff...I just continue to use the max growth stuff. My nails are doing pretty well...though they do get to a certain point and then start breaking...but that just might be me having them in my mouth all the time! You might want to try that...its pretty cheap too.

Katie, I've used some Sally Hansen in a gold metallic bottle. I had great results with that. I've also tried the one that is new to stop breaks and splits... it's in a pretty blue metallic bottle.
I guess I'll have to start some aggressive therapy here, I have less than 3 months now!
