Well considering I'm not even sure where that is I'd have to say a very long ways :laugh3: I actually live 4 miles from the oregon/california stateline right on the coast I guess the biggest city if you can call it that would be Eureka, California which is 100 miles south of us. Most people dont even know we exist when they say Northern California:lolroll:

It's 100 miles north of San Diego. I have an idea where Eureka is, just not in relation to Hopland. :lolroll: I also have a friend that lives in Brookings, OR; I think that's near the CA/OR border too and the coast. Though she's moving before we go, so I can't visit her!:sniff:

I lived in Concord and in Pleasant Hill and went to DVC for a semester! I went to Antioch High for a semester too! (pre DVC obviously!) I love NoCal!


I am in North Hollywood now...hopefully moving over to Studio City.

I'm in 'West' LA now (whatever that means); near Santa Monica to give you a better idea. We lived in WeHo for 2 years, then moved to Hollywood (near Wilcox & Sunset) for 3 months and then in July we moved to where we are now. Let me know if you ever want to get together. :)

I hope you get to move to Studio City! Keep us posted.

Fellnlove and others, I'm not a California girl but was stationed at Travis AFB for four years while in the Air Force, we just left six month ago to live her in England.

Cool whereabouts? I lived on the base for a couple of years but spent the rest in an apt in Vacaville. Worked at the Vacaville Target last christmas. Went to Solano CC for one semster and the day I was going to sign up for the next semester's classes DH came home and said he got orders.

DH and I would venture over your way at least once a month. DH is a gamer so we would go to Games Unlimited over by Benihana(by Waterworld Concord) and then eat at Fudruckers and then or go over to the Sun Valley Mall(closest place to Fairfield/Vacaville, that had a Yankee Candle Co store) or if it was a special occasion go to Todai the sushi buffet place there in the mall.

I didn't know Concord well other than that one little area. We did however hike Mt. Diablo a couple of times one of which was when the ladybugs were in full mating mode(I've never seen so many at the same time in my life)

it was off of North Texas... I help sell new homes. And as you might know, Fairfield and Vacaville is nothing but new homes now (and has been for a while).

Yes I do, I lived right by the Solano prison. That's what you get for living in the suburbs of a major city. I'm from NY just north of NYC, and they are going through the same thing. Housing explosion over the last 10 years, and that area had dairy farms and apple orchards when I was growing up very much like Solano county.

It has been extremely hot... the other day it was 106 and really dry. It sucked.

I was up in the Bay Area all weekend and I thought it was so hot until I got back to San Diego last night. FH and I flew in about 11pm and it was 78 degrees and extremely humid! I am not a fan of this kind of weather at all....

I was in Anahiem & Tustin this weekend, running the Disneyland Half marathon. UGH!! That heat SUCKED!! I'm in the Central Valley, so the heat itself doesn't bother me, but I'm generally not dumb enough to run in it!!

The organizers of the half marathon really need to rethink the timing of the event. There's a reason you are hard pressed to find distance running events in California in the summer!!
