I'm not sure if this should go here or somewhere else, please move it if it's in the wrong one. :)

Does someone have a list for the guest's attire vs. the time & formalness (is that even a word?) of the wedding?

My friend is getting married in their home (2nd marriage for both of them) her text message/answer to me when I asked what I should wear was: Casual it's going to be at the house and it's all about having family with us.

What is casual? The wedding's @ 7PM :blush:

TIA!!!!!!

I told my guest semi-beach causual…meaning no jeans nor gyms shoes or swim suit but a nice summer dress or flip flops anything comfortable that is not toooooooo casual….otherwise my lil cousin would come dressed like she is going to be in the next hip hop video! Lol

I would think like a nice summery dress or something that is still nice but not too formal looking. I would think jeans would be out but you never know.

You're probably thinking of "formality". :}

Honestly, since you asked & didn't get a detailed response, I really wouldn't worry too much about it. AFAIK, there isn't much in the etiquette books about casual evening house weddings. ;} Wear something nice, but comfortable... in my world, there's no such thing as being "overdressed", so if you have something completely over-the-top fabulous that you want to wear, knock yourself out... but it sounds like the majority of the guests will be wearing polo shirts & khakis, or something along those lines.

I was thinking Khakis and a nice blouse, Mrs. Garcia.

I think either a comfortable summer dress or skirt with some nice sandals.

Exactly what I would do as well. Though I must agree with Alice - there is no such thing as being too dressy - just don't show up in a wedding gown.
:hysterics: Yep, I crack myself up.
