We're going back and forth between 2 differant designs...so hopefully we might find something in between the 2 that we like :).

Here's the first one:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e273/MandyMaloo/Wedding%20Pictures/lilaccenterpiece.jpg
(ours would have red roses though)

And the second:

I think both are beautiful! :)

We have to different centrepieces:

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y166/belle67/centrepieces.jpg

And around each is this set of DIY etched candle holders:

Our centerpieces are one of many DIY projects.

This is from a trial run I did a while back:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a252/Aramelle/Decoration%20Ideas/CeneterpieceTrial1.jpg

We will be using pictures from our engagement sitting, though. We are going to alternate them on the tables...some 8x10 and some 5x7.

The only difference is that the candle will be in our wedding colors, not the blue that is in the picture.

We're going a little geeky with our centrepieces. Taking old broken computer mouses, spraypainting them, cutting a hole in the center that will hold a small candle holder or vase for flowers :)

Sooooo, if anyone out there has any computer mouses that are broken let us know :lol2:

I don't have any pictures because I don't know for sure, but they're going to be floral and have sort of a wild flower look... We hired a florist to do it.

Thanks serda! We're geeks, through and through, and this is one way we'll have a bit of a geeky (but still elegant) touch to our wedding. Makes it more ours, as well!

Oh, and the mouse will be sitting on a silver, slightly mirrored base - an old CD ;)

These are our centerpieces (this is a rough draft of it)

They will sit on a base of sand and have two votive cups (pictured here) and also glitter edged sand dollars. Pencil and sugar starfish, and assorted shells will also be scattered around the glass bowl.

Votive cups (have twine & seashells on them, DIY)

These are different. Johanne Shipp at Passion (www.flowersbypassion.com) used hydrangeas and ‘Metallina’ roses, ‘Old Dutch’ roses and ‘Eden Romantica’ roses for the table arrangements.

Low silver bowls filled with arrangements of cream, lilac and green roses, lisianthus, phlox and garden foliage were placed on tartan swatches. Mini frosted votives were placed around the arrangements.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1103/edhodge/centerpiecewhitesandgreenontartan.jpg

This is simple but striking. It is simple marigold plants mixed with rosemary and thyme, planted in square terracotta pots with a candle and placed at intervals along the tables.

Thanks, ladies, that's very sweet of you. They were very easy to do. My dad is actually going to be custom-making all of the frames, but the trial was done with just four inexpensive frames from Wal-Mart. I just fastened the frames together, printed the pictures on vellum, and then I taped the pictures into the frames so that they would stay without the cardboard backs. Throw a pillar candle in the center, and "ta-da" it's all done. :)

We want to do a variation on this one:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j228/MsJessica07/centerpieces/squares.jpg

Our colors are blue, green and white. So we thought about using this one:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j228/MsJessica07/centerpieces/holder_blue_inner.jpg

Or this one:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j228/MsJessica07/centerpieces/holder_frosted_inner.jpg

Or possibly a mixture of the two. I'm leaning towards the blue, though.

We want to use the votive holders as favors so I'm trying to think of ways to personalize them. Any thoughts? (Something easy, there'll be ~130 of them)

Hope you like it :)

*Diane*
07-30-2006, 06:26 PM
You can wrap the votives in rice paper, printed with something unique to your wedding. That way you can buy white ones (save money) and still get color from the rice paper.

I had individual cakes (32 of them baked by my grandmother) in different flavors as centerpieces. Since it was a garden wedding they were on top of flower pots we got from Ikea. We also had 3 candles in matching mini pots from Ikea and some loose silk gerbers. Simple and rather economical:) .
