Message Lengths

How come you have to have a longer message before you can post? (Message length is too short, must be so many characters to post).
Will that be changing?

Just something small like for example when I went onto the Canada Forum, it asked where everyone was from and I put:
BC! :D
but it wouldn't let me do it that small.....

This happened too when I was in the Introductions area and wanted to respond to someone with "Hi!! :hiya:"

Weird. The minimum message length is set to 1 character. I'll go check it out.
