View Full Version : So Angry

So Michael and I have our engagement pictures tomorrow (supposedly) at 3. Michael has been wanting to take some golf lessons and since he works 10 hours M-Th then they only work 4 hours on Friday, Friday afternoons are perfect. So, for the past month when he's talked about it I have told him that he cannot start them this Friday, September 8, because we have to take our engagement pictures at 3.

So what does he do?

Calls me this morning and asks me what time our pictures are at on Friday. I say 3. He says can we change it to 3:30 and I said no, why. He scheduled a golf lessons across town for 1PM. He cannot make it across Houston and to our pictures in less than an hour -- he wouldn't even make it there by 3:30. I'm so upset with him right now. I'm sitting at my desk trying to not cry loudly because I'm so angry right now that I can't see straight.

I feel that he has been completely selfish. I could care less that he's taking golf lessons, it's the fact that I have told him for over a month that he cannot start them this Friday and he did it anyway. Is it stupid that I'm angry and upset by this? I don't even want to take the pictures anymore. If he doesn't care about them, why should I?

I don't think it's stupid at all for you to be angry or upset over this. He is letting his excitement and his wants get above something you have had planned out.

 It's not stupid at all that you're upset about this. It means something to you and he's treating it like it's nothing. Even if he's completly not interested in getting his picture taken, he should at least acknowledge that it means something to you. I hope he comes to his senses!!

He rescheduled the lesson for 12-1, so at least he can make it now but he can't seem to understand why I'm angry and upset with him! I haven't even gotten an apology -- I've gotten a "quit acting like a baby"

GAH! He's been GREAT about the wedding so far, so I don't understand what his problem is.

*hugs* to both of you. Thank you for letting me know I'm not being completely ridiculous. Yes, glad he rescheduled it, but he's completely missed the point.

:hammer: I am sorry Ashley he needs to be sat down and things explained to him when you are calmer yelling at him will make him defensive. :hammer:

Uhh! How annoying! At least he has managed to schedule them for earlier so he can make it.

I would be just as mad and can see Evan doing the same thing

:hugsmile2: Men are good at missing the point! I'm glad he rescheduled because you know we can't wait to see your engagement pictures! And if he had messed that up we all would have come down there and taken care of him for you :hammer2:

If he gets sun easily, ask him to wear sunscreen so he doesn't show up for pictures with a pink face. (And he might need to get his ears & neck, too.)

Oh yes, this has already crossed my mind. He burns even WITH sunscreen. UGH.

Maybe it will be a little cloudy during his lesson so he doesn't burn, and then clear up by the time it's 3PM for the pictures. ;) I'm glad he was able to get an earlier lesson so you can have your pics though. You better take those pictures so you can share them with us! ;)

I know it is frustrating; I can tell my husband a million times about an appointment and he still doesn't get it; not only that, he gets it confused with other ones! He's done the same thing like Michael and asked if I can switch the time; it's rather annoying and it's hard not to get angry at him, but I've been trying to just let it go because anger is not good for my health. :banghead: I 'flush' it down the toilet. :flush:

I hope you feel better soon honey.

I think I would be more upset that he told me to "quit acting like a baby". Granted, I was not witness to your conversation/discussion but if you let him know that you made arrangements to have your engagement pictures taken on a certain date and time and he big fat went and scheduled his golf lessons at a conflicting time anyway, I don't see how that makes you a baby.

I hope I didn't open up a can of worms there but that jumped out at me. I'm glad he was able to reschedule the lesson and I hope he does not get too much sun.

I agree, I hate hearing something like "quit acting like a baby" that's just not acceptable. He needs to be sat down and explained exactly why he should apologize to you.

You are totally in the right to be upset with him, him being a guy, he's just not *quick* enough to figure out why. A frying pan over the head might jar his memory? :)

Ditto on the 'quit acting like a baby' comment. Sheesh!

Its times like these that I am sort of glad I will be doing most of the planning myself! LOL

I hear ya on the "quit acting like a baby" comment...
I always get the "just drop it" comment instead of an apology and it frustrates me so much i feel like i just wanna shake him :)
my biggest pet peeve...just TRY doing that next time he is mad about something (tell HIM to quit acting like a baby) and i bet you anything he hates it too!
sorry hun, hope you pics go well today though...you are beautiful, so i know they will!

sometimes men just dont understand why events are so important to us.. tell him, but calmly & when everything isnt so heated.. amd I DONT mean the weather :)

as for the "baby" statement.. I would suggest to him that at least you are acting like an adult in trying not to inconvenience? the photographer who possibly has other appointments as well as yours!!

Well, at least he rescheduled. My DH just did this to me a few days ago with something else. I had planned it for a month...and then he made other plans. He is just forgetful. But I got the same comment...and I know how annoying it is. I don't think they do it on purpose...it's more that they just don't *think* about what they are doing. I hope your pictures turn out great and I can't wait to see them!
