Calling all Washington Brides - tell us where you are!

I'm on the Olympic Peninsula.

I know Ally is out there and we've got Lori, our honorary member from just south the border in Oregon....anyone else?

Question for all: So, having a WA (esp. Seattle) stereotype: How do you like your coffee? (If you were to call me, you're bound to hear that question in lieu of "Hello".) Now, I realize they drink coffee in other regions, its just we're known for that tasty brown beverage. (We could make this in to a poll...)

I prefer mine hot, french roast preferably, with some sort of liquid creamer, not necessarily flavored but carmel, if you've got it. :coffee:

How do you like YOUR coffee?
:wiggle:

Hi Sabby!

But Ally - How do you like your coffee? Tell us?

Do you take it black? Cream? Sugar? Splenda? Etc.....:)

Ally

If i am getting coffee from a coffee shop then i usually get a vanilla mocha...sometimes hot and sometimes iced...lol. if i am at home or work then i use cream and sugar. My favorite creamer is the french vanilla or irish cream

Rosebud

I tend to shy away from iced coffee. Three swallows and its gone! :lick:

Ally
07-13-2006, 07:54 PM
I used to be the same way but then i Preston told me to tell them Light Ice, and it gives you a lot more!! what kind do you like?

Rosebud
07-13-2006, 08:00 PM
My problem with the iced coffee isn't that they give me too much ice...its that they're so good, they're gone within 3 swallows! LOL! "Light Ice" might get me 4.

Ally

lol, got ya!!! I am like that sometimes too

Hi hi-

I am in Tacoma... right next to Cheney Stadium and Snake Lake. I've lived in this area almost all of my life... I just love it here...

As for coffee... I didn't drink it before I went to college... then I got addicted to these things called 'Wildcats'. I went to Central Washington University and go figure that a drink there is named the 'Wildcat' since it's the school mascot. It's a White Chocolate with Carmel Sauce mocha... it's really yummy and I drink them all the time now.

Yay for DJ making it over here to MLW and finding our thread. I'm gonna have to check out your journal and follow up on your hair wreaths. I think we're still missing someone from the old thread and I believe its the bride who started the WA thread.

Anyway...DJ, that Wildcat sounds absolutely scrumptious and my kind of drink. I love white chocolate (not sure how its different than Almond Bark) and caramel is my signature flavor - yum! :lick:

On the local front:
The Lavender Festival is this weekend in Sequim along with a quilt show. Now, only if I liked lavender. Why can't I live in a place known for gardenias? Traffic is bound to be horrendous. Anything going on in your areas?

Hi hi-

Today was my birthday, but we had the kids tonight so Honey is taking me out tomorrow for dinner at Pomadoro (fancy Italian Resturant). Perhaps I might even get him to let me go see 'The Devil Wears Prada'. I so want to see that movie. He doesn't like Chic Flicks.
Saturday, the whole family is going to Wolf Haven for a Howl-in and Celtic Dancers. Sunday... who knows what he's got planned... he told me not to plan anything so I'm not.

If I lived closer, I'd go see that movie with you. Happy Birthday, DJ! Ooh, Sunday might be interesting...you'll have to let us know what he had up his sleeve. :disco:

Hi hi-

I know it's not my tattoo since the shop is not open on Sunday, but I know that is coming soon too... The person who designed it told me today to tell Honey that she got the drawing done for him... I know what drawing she is doing so I know that he's working on getting the tattoo done.

Yay - another tattoo girl. I only have one but I can see where they can be addicting. Hmmm, I'm thinking we should have a "Show Us Your Tattoo" thread. :hehe:

Hi hi-

That would be a great idea Rosebud since all of the tattoo's I'm getting are customized. I have a Butterfly/Tiger on my right calf that's painted blue and purple. I am getting a fairy on my left calf and the word HOPE with an AIDS ribbon on my left ankle. I am hoping to get both of the ones on my left leg at the same time, but I'm not sure if Robert will do them both at the same time. I heard the ankle is more painful than the calf.

Not sure how many of us Washingtonians are still single (Congrats, DJ :kimgrill: ), but I wanted to let everyone know of the Seattle Wedding show coming up in January - the 6th and 7th. I found a vendor catalog at Safeway (in the deli). It lists a site of weddingshow.com. Admission is $15 unless you buy in advance from a exhibitor - then its $13.

Well shut my mouth and call me silly. I'm sorry DJ, how ignorant of me to assume that only those still in 'planning mode' would want to attend a wedding show.

The bridal show in Sequim yesterday was an absolute disappointment with less vendors than last year.

Port Townsend is hosting theirs this year on February 17th at Fort Worden. They are auctiioning off gowns in a wide range of sizes for charity.

DJ; have you been to the Wandering Angus in PT? Its a great Celtic store on the downtown strip.

Hi ih-

I haven't been to Port Townsend since I was 16... I was in girlscouts and took a trip up there... Definately a place to go visit sometime though...

PT is a great place to visit, if you can ignore the aroma of the papermill. We do day trips over there often. Some of the best fish I've ever had was at The Bayview Restaurant.

Welcome hobbithug! You're going to be enjoying some much cooler weather and probably more accessible sources for your planning.

My name is DeAnne and I'm from Pasco, WA.....1/2 an hour from the Oregon border.

Rosebud...
I have family in Sequim and Port Angeles......I remember the 3 crabs restaurant. :) It's been years since I have been up there in your neck of the woods. Very Pretty though.

I do like my coffee but, unfortunatly I'm a light weight....I drink a Venti, skinny, single carmel macchiato. I can't handle too many shots it really upsets my stomach unfortunately...that's why I do the single shot. ;)

Hi DeAnne! I see you over in Pasco - out east by Walla Walla. :wavey:

Ah, the 3 Crabs Restaurant. In 5 years, I still haven't been there. Thats cool that you remember it. Its just a hop, skip and a jump from our place.

I respect anyone's coffee preferences (or lack thereof) - so no worries there. I'm a caramel girl too. :lick:

The 3 crabs has been there for years....Good old Dungeness crabs.....

I remember as a little kid going to the Olympic National forest...when we went horseback in 95 in Costa Rica...we were in a rainforest....believe it or not it wasn't like a jungle but, reminded me exactly of the Olympic National Forest.
