Keith and I had spent a wonderful Saturday at a friends' bay house, floating around the pool overlooking Galveston Bay and hanging out with friends. After it had gotten dark we took a walk down to the pier and looked at the amazing lights. While we were watching the sailboats float by all lit up, we were have a deep conversation about our relationship and how we were handling the transition of me moving to Houston and living together. Then Keith turns to me and says "I have a question for you". Not realizing where the conversation is going, I just say "yeah, what's up?" "Will you marry me?" Well I think he's just being cute and sweet, so I just say "Of course I will". Keith gives me a funny look and says "Will you look in my hand?" and there's the :ring: !! THEN I figured out what was going on. I yell "Oh, oh! Yes, Yes!" We hugged and kissed and laughed over how dense I was. Then Keith told me how he'd been carrying the ring around with him just waiting for the right moment to propose. He even took it to Six Flags AstroWorld when we went and spent the whole time paranoid it was going to fall out of his pocket. :hehe:
We stayed down on the dock for awhile and just enjoyed the view and each other for awhile. When we went back up to the house, everyone was hanging around singing along to someone playing a guitar but kinda stopped when they saw us. We pretended nothing happened for awhile but soon I couldn't hold it in anymore. Our good friend Phil looked at me and I held up my hand. Then everyone noticed and passed around beers for a toast. :party3: We spent the rest of the night getting a hold of friends and family. I was a little sad that I'm so far from home and don't have my family there to share in this with me but I'm still so happy....and proud of Keith, I doubted he'd be able to surprise me but he certainly did!
