From what I have read it is pretty common to tip the vendors.
Did you guys tip? What is the average to give them?

We tipped our vendors, but not all of them.

There was a standard I found somewhere before we married that helped us decide who to tip and how much....I'll see if I can find it for you.

Here you go. It's not the exact same one we had, but essentially says the same things.

We're actually not planning to tip ANY of our vendors the day of the wedding, minus the limo driver (we have to, it's in the contract), and the gratuity for the servers, which will already be paid. I've decided we'll bring a tip for the DJ, but he'll only get it if he's truly great. I'll tip the photog/videog AFTER we get all our stuff, if it's really awesome stuff, which I know it will be. I figured I'm paying them big bucks, and the best "tip" i can give is to let them know to use me as a reference if I'm satisfied with our photos and video.

We tipped most everyone on the day of the wedding. I think for the DJ, videographer, florist and photographer we gave 10%. Gratuity was included in our package at the hotel, so we didn't have to worry about tipping all of the wait-staff.

I never thought about tipping. I was going to give them a free meal. Bar help, photographer, JOP, free meal. And the caterer I am not sure of yet. I will probably not tip. I know I am bad. The bar help is actually our towns volunteer fire department. So after wards we will give them a donation of some kind.
