Was Your Shower a Surprise?

Was your bridal shower a surprise or did you know about it before hand? Did your BMs take care of everything or did you end up having to help? Were you happy with the way things went?

I was happy with how it went, it was planned. I picked out the date because I wanted to make sure I accomodated an OOT BM. My BMs took care of everything and I was thankful for that. :)

Mine was supposed to be a surprise, but I am way too nosy for that. I found out about it and pretended to be surprised. I am much better at pretending.

Mine wasn't at all. My BMs have done most of the planning while I've been around... I'm probably going to have to help with invitations to get them out faster....

I know when my shower is (August 20th), the time and place, and really, that's it. They won't tell me anything else!

Nope, my sister wanted to make sure she threw me the shower I wanted, so she verified everything with me first....but then again I'm sure she has some surprises planned for me.

The shower is going to be on Sunday, July 30th. We're cuttng it EXTREMELY close.

One of my BMs (and I only have two) isn't even going to be there because she's going to Iowa for two weeks to visit family and she doesn't get back till August 2nd, but she's being a sweetie and helping out.

My FSIL threw my first shower for me in June and I knew about it. Our schedules are so crazy that we had to pick out the date together. June was the only one that would work.
I liked having it in June... it spreads the excitement out a little. :)

My showers aren't suprises, I know the date and time, etc but don't know what we will be doing at all of them

Mine was suppose to be but my MIL opened her big mouth and told me. PISSED ME OFF!!! I've never been surprised by anything and this would have been the first thing...but NO... maybe DH will surprise me with a b-day party one year :)

I knew about it the whole time thankfully. I could see myself showing up in old shorts and a hat on my head, I would be sooo mad.

I had 2 showers and neither were a surprise - I asked that they not be. I didn't have to help but I wouldn't exactly say my BM took care of everything (one BM told the other bridesmaids that she was doing things and then showed up to the shower saying she didn't get around to it).
My first shower went great and I was very happy with how it turned out. My 2nd shower I was also happy with but it upset me that the one BM lied, didn't do a single thing she said she was doing, and in turn upset everyone else who was involved. But even so everyone had a great time, myself included. :)

Nope, it wasn't a suprise. My MIL planned it! She and FIL did a great job!

Before my first wedding, I was thrown 2 showers - one I knew about from the first day the planning started...the second one was SUPPOSED to be a surprise, but thankfully my ex told me about it. I was a little ticked at the time, but thankful too!

My Matrons of Honor included me in every step of the planning. I had a lovely shower, I wouldn't have changed a thing, they did a great job!

I had two showers. The first one was pretty much thrown by my mom, sister and cousin. I knew about it and actually helped plan it a little. My second shower was thrown by my MIL and SILs. I knew when it was but they did all the planning since it was out of state. They were both a lot of fun!

My shower was supposed to be a suprise but eventually everyone let bits of info slip and i found out when it was. Actually knowing was a bit of a relief, i could be prepared for it rather than worried.

I didn't vote b/c I've had two showers...one was a surprise, one wasn't.

My main shower was not a surprise..I had to fly up to Michigan for it so I don't know how the girls coulda kept that a surprise :giggle:

My co-workers also threw me a shower and it was a complete surprise!!

I know about it beforehand.. I also know the date of my bachelorette party but what we are doing is a surprise and that bugs me.

My shower was supposed to be a surprise, but I had figured out when it was beforehand. It wasn't hard, since my sister was only in from OOT for one week and I knew that they would want her there.

I knew about both of my showers - one because it was in Ohio and it had to be planned in advance so I'd be there. The second because my BM who planned knows how much I hate surprises :lol:

Both were wonderful though :)
