Wow...it says the Bride was pregnant and they are Mormon. That's a no no. I'm surprised they were to be married in the Temple if that was the case...

It says they're expecting their first child in May, so it could be possible she got pregnant on her wedding night...who knows, but if not I agree with you, I'm surprised -- the girl that used to do my hair is Mormon and she said it's hard to book the Temple in Salt Lake City (was that the one in question?)

I am guessing she was pg before since she is due in may and they were married in EARLY august. So unless she got pg on her wedding night (totally possible!) she was pg before.
Which would be my guess as to what the issue with her parents were.
Being sexually active pre-marriage is a sin.
Going to the Temple without being free from sin is a sin in and of itself.
If she told her Bishop that she was pregnant or sexually active she never would have gotten her Temple reccomend.
It's a sin to lie to the Bishop in your interview.

I have never been married in the Temple, but the Process is very careful.

I am guessing that if her parents found out she was pg or sexually active they took her to prevent and even bigger sin...going to the Temple without confessing...

They might blame the husband.

I am just guessing.
It is not my church anymore, but it is one that I respect. So much wierd stuff is said about Mormans...and like any church there are quirks.
I am really interested in this story!

I have respect for all churches :) It's cool that you were a mormon, I like having your expertise for this thread!

Thank you for explaining that Minky. I was thinking they found out she was pregnant and kidnapped her so she wouldn't get married, which would make things worse. But now I understand about going to Temple with sin.

That is so interesting. I read this story on AOL the other day.....and couldn't for the life of me understand. I think I understand better now. :)
