Pre-Ceremony - Marisa's version
The day began really early at about 3 a.m. I stayed in my office since I had made up the room for the first night with the special sheets and pillowcases. I was amazed that I was able to do so much laundry that early in the morning. I then put the rehearsal dinner pictures on the web site and finish packing for the honeymoon.
It was still dark when I headed out for private boot camp at the Botanical Gardens. I gave Steve my boot camp Journal and he appeared to be surprised. I offered to e-mail him the entry for the day. The morning was lovely, and I was able to witness a beautiful sunrise. I ran, walked, did lunches, and enjoyed the environment. It was a great way to start the day!
I drove into Hamilton and parked the car near the MAC store. I then walked the Lady Asser Hut for a shower. I slathered myself of jasmine scented lotion and was amazingly calm, as I walk to pick up the flowers for my hair and the boutonnière for my godfather. I had to wait a bit for the flowers which allowed me to read through few newspapers and think about my schedule for the day. When I arrived at the salon I surprised Sharon with her gift. I was able to nap under the dryer, which was great because I was starting to feel the bit tired. I was a little refreshed as my hair was put into the style. It looked even better than the trial and the orchids looked lovely. I received a great card from Sharon and the staff of Eden, and I was again off to the next appointment.
The makeup was a great appointment, because I felt that Tressa made me look awake! While Chantal had her makeup done I ran out to give my godfather his boutonnière since he would not be able to make it to the wedding. The boutonnière was really nice and I was eager to see the rest of flowers. Chantal and I were then on the way to my place to dress. We were the first to arrive at 1:30 p.m. The flowers were then delivered, and they were fabulous. I could not believe how wonderful the bouquets looked. The corsages were really lovely too. I loved how the rosebuds looked. I was getting excited, but I was still really calm.
My parents arrived with Alegna and soon Shirley, the fabulous coordinator, joined us. I put the cough links on my dad and gave my mom the London blue Topaz ring. Chantal and Alegna dressed for Charles, the photographer, arrival. He started with my dress and the pillows on the bed and then got into taking pictures of Alegna while I got into my dress (and more jasmine lotion!). We took a few pictures in the house while Shirley took Aidan’s cufflinks to the church. It was then time to go. Chantal, Alegna, my dad, and I got into the taxi and we were off to the church.
Pre-Ceremony - Aidan's version
I woke up at six am, collected all of my kit together, had breakfast and left the house at 7 for the Fairmont Southampton Hotel. I was due to play the bagpipes at 8am. I got dressed in the car park as usual and headed into the executive offices to warm up and tune up. The show that we were playing for ended up being late and the CEO for whom we were playing liked to be “fashionably late”. We performed the show and I left the hotel at about 9:15. I then took a few things, including a bed, to our new house. I then went back to my parents house, where I collected my flag boxes and headed to Commissioner’s House. I arrived there at about 11am and proceeded to decorate the flagpole with flags representing our combined families and the nationalities of the invitees, including those unable to be present. This took just over an hour.
I was supposed to meet Brendan and Suzie, Pete and Veronica for lunch at Coral Beach Club at 12pm. I received a call from them at 12:25 to say that they were running late, which was good because so was I. I had a good old fashioned bacon cheeseburger and fries for lunch. I arrived back at my parents house a little after two and proceeded to make my final preparations. At just after three, we headed down to the church to meet and greet and ensure that the final touches were falling into place. Everything was dropping into place quite nicely, so I let it run. Marisa apparently arrived at the church at 3:50, so I was instructed not to look out of the doors.
