Hey guys!

We have 7 BM and 7 GM, so it'll be 16 of us total in the limo. I hate to get a regular one because they always seem cramped, so I wanted your opinion. Do you think we should get a Hummer Limo (what FH thinks would be awesome) or would a regular SUV one fit us all comfortably? I ask because I'm sure there's a big price difference, and I'd like to NOT break the bank on a limo that is LITERALLY going to drive us 2 blocks from the wedding to the reception after driving my girls and I down to the church from my parents house.

We don't have a huge BP (about 12) but we're getting a luxury coach. It holds 22 people and I love it because there's no bending over and being cramped. You can stand up and move around. Some even come with "entertainment poles" (as they call them) and dance floors. I don't think I'll be attempting anything in my dress though! :laugh3:

We also have 7 BM and 7 GM, But have also 2 flowergirls now, 2 junior grooms and Brides, and 1 RB.

We are gonna do the stretch escalade(SP), this is only because of the fact my mothers friend DH owns his company. But, it kind of hard to decide something that seems so simple, that is really hard to decide.

Maybe I am being Bias but it's your wedding enjoy get what you want(LOL)!

Go to the limo place and check them all out. See what's easiest to move around in for you in a big dress, and for any large guys if you have them, and then what the prices are. Don't guess, go and check it out, I'm sure they will love showing off their "fleet". :)

Thanks y'all! I need to call around and find out if there are places that have them both so I can check them out like you suggested Liza.

Thanks for the ideas LeAna and Kya!

If the regular limo can fit 16 people, I would just do that. Even if you're a little squished, it's only for 2 blocks. I personally can't justify spending all that extra money for 2 blocks. Heck, the limo driver could even make 2 trips if it's too cramped! It's not like anyone would have to wait long.

I realize that it's ncie to have the limo...the idea of the wedding and everything, however, if it's only for two blocks...is it needed? I guess with the weddings ive been I could justify it because we used it BEFORE the ceremony and after as well so ya.

If you do go with the limo option...like you said its best to go look around, HOWEVER you're best option would prolly be the limo bus thingy. The one wedding I was in had 10 ppl. They had rented an SUV limo. There was room for like maybe 2 more ppl but we were just comfy with only 10 in the SUV.

keep us updated on what you decided

We were going to get a limo for my son's wedding but the bridal party was large (18, plus the bride/groom) and we did not want them cramped into a regular one.

The larger SUV limos were available and seated 20-22 but they were around $1500 for the minimum time and we just decided that it was unnecesssary.

The bridal party carpooled to the church, then had their cars to take to the reception. No one saw them arrive anyway because they came early for pictures and then stayed after for the bride/groom together shots.

The bride/groom had a Model T to take them to the reception.

If you can do it for a price you can afford, I would go with the larger SUV limo so they are not cramped.

I've been in 3 or 4 weddings, and only one of them even rented limos or anything else for the entire party. Of the ones that were not rented for the party, they rented one for the bride and groom, and all the rest used their own cars to get to the church and reception. But for my cousins wedding (granted she did not have a huge party, only 3 girls and 3 guys besides FG RB and themselves) she rented 2 separate limos one for bride and groom, MOH and BM, and RB (MOH and BM's son) and the other for the other attendants and RB (one set's daughter).

I'm not sure if you've made your decision or not (based on the date you originally posted), but I thought I'd give my opinion anyway :)

My sister had a SUV limo (Excursion maybe??) for her wedding. Her bridal party was much smaller than yours and we were CRAMPED. One of the BMs had to sit on a GM's lap, and it was still really tight.

When I was looking into limos, one vendor gave me some really good advice regarding the number of people that can fit comfortably in a limo. He said that whatever number it gives, subtract at least 3 and that will be your actual number. He said that with bouquets and the "fluff" of BM dresses it takes up extra people, and the bride's dress should count as a person (not including the bride herself).

I would recommend a limo bus if you are dead set on having everyone come in a limo. We did that for my wedding (6 BM, 6 GM) and there was plenty of room and sooo much fun to dance in. They are kind of expensive if you're just going 2 blocks... we drove around for a few hours taking pictures, so we didn't mind.

Sorry so long, HTH!

We did trolleys for all the guests. It was about 3 city blocks from the church to our reception site. We had one specific trolley just for the BP. I think each trolley could carry 22 people...
