It might take me a second to figure it out, but there will be a poll.
My FMIL has so generously offered to let me have a flower party at her house, and all of the women will get together the night before the wedding and put the flowers together. (I don't love flowers, I'm not spending a lot of money.) Because I am so bad at flowers, I am requesting your help in picking out the colors.
My dress is a cream/champagne color, and my bridesmaid dresses are burgundy. Gold is the accent color. Probably my bouquet and the groom's bout would be the dark red, and everyone else would be cream. I think that would give the best contrast in the pictures. I think that the Sahara is the closest color to my dress (although it won't be directly against my dress) and the Black Magic might be closer to the BM dresses, but I'm not sure. I will probably wrap the stems of the bouquets in gold ribbon. Which of these combinations do you like best:
Color Combo #1 - Sahara (cream) and Black Magic (dark red)

#5 - None of the above. (please post suggestion)
#6 - You are obviously beyond help. Give up now.

I vote for Timeless and Black Magic. I think they compliment each other very nicely. Very close to my wedding rose colors, but I used Charlotte roses, not quite so dark. It's a very pretty look!! They will be gorgeous! Are you planning to have any other flowers with the roses?
Edited to add: http://www.bigrose.com/varieties.asp Not to confuse you, but another place to look at rose colors. :)

Thanks for the link, Liza. Their prices are good, too.
I think I like the Timeless and Black Magic together also. Individually, I like the Sahara and the Black Baccara the best. If I were doing all one color, I might choose one of those. But with using both, I don't really know what to do. I am stylistically challenged.
I will probably have just roses, and some baby's breath or other greenery on the bouts and corsages. (Your bouquet is my inspiration, but without the crystals because it wouldn't match the pearl motif on my tiara and dress. Seriously, I emailed *your* bouquet pic to my FMIL.)

Awwww!!! How cool!!! :)
You could try making large pearl inserts like that, I bet it would be easy enough to do with large tear drop shaped pearls on wire.

I really like the Sahara roses but I think they'd be complimented by pink or maybe even purple or peach flowers surrounding them. That's why I voted for Timeless & Black Magic.

Kiamarie, you're a respected pro around here, so I would like to ask why you voted for that one. Is it because they are closest to the dress colors, or do you just like how those look (or some other reason)?
Also, since the two colors won't be together in any particular arrangement, does it matter less how they look together?
Thanks for your help. Like I said, I am not good at these things.

I voted for tthe third set of flowers. I liked this red better and I like that the ivory looked just ivory, the other ivory looked a little pink to me. Although, it could just be me! :happytears:

No, it is darker than ivory, and I it looks a little pink to me too. I was afraid that ivory would actually be too light, since my dress is a champagne/cream color. (My dress is *much* darker than ivory.)

I love that black magic rose. I think if you are having a red bouquet and the BM are having the cream, then your dress color will not matter as much because they will not be right up against your dress. So I also voted for the Timeless cream.

I chose #5.
I would take the sahara rose and look closely at it. It seems to have yellowish & pale green tones to it. I would mix Sahara rose with pale greens, buttery yellows and the bacarra roses to pick up what is in the BMgowns. Add the gold ribbon around the handle:)

I picked the shades because I like how they look together, taking into consideration the shade of your gown and the BM's. ( I was thinking of your gown complimenting shades with the BM's) If the BM's dresses are as dark as the red I would use the lighter shade of roses for them. Dark roses wont photograph well in against dark dresses)... The colors I liked were for your dress. I think it matters how they look together one would always want to compliment colors which is pleasing to the eye. I would consider this as you choose flowers. :The darker the dress the lighter the color for flowers, the lighter the dress the darker the flowers" It is not a written in stone rule, but it helps.

Because your dress is more of a champagne in shade I like the variations in colors of the Sahara rose would look beautiful. JMO

Thank you soooo much! Yes, that is exactly what I want to do with the colors. I want dark red for my bouquet and the groom's bout, and cream for the bridesmaids who will have burgundy dresses.
You are all so helpful. Thank you! Miss Sparky, thank you for posting an "other", I love hearing those too.
