Did you register for both China and everyday dishes or just everyday dishes? Were you happy with your choice?

I registered for both China and everyday dishes. I ended up getting all the peices of my everyday dishes and not getting my china. It turns out I was happy because I got a complete set of my nice stoneware everyday dishes with all the peices.

I'm just registering for everyday dishes.... No one in my family owns china so I don't really understand the point of having it if I have nice everyday dishes...

We registered for both and I've used my china... um, never.
Unless you plan to hold holiday dinners or enjoy throwing dinner parties I would go without it.

you could also register for everyday china, it is more fashionable like everyday dishes, however it is just as strong as china and made like china. When Tanya and I registered at Bed Bath and Beyond, the lady working with us showed us that with china or everyday china you could literally stand a coffee cup on its end and stand on it and it would not break, you could hit it against the side of a table and it wouldn't chip, crack or break, so there are advantages to china or the everyday china.

We registered for both. I was on the fence about registering for china, but FH insisted. He'll be an Army officer by the time the wedding rolls around and he wants it for entertaining other officers and their families.

We didn't register for either. We bought dishes once when we were out and found a set we could agree on, and my grandmother is just waiting to give me her china, so I had no need to register for it.

We thought about registering for dishes but I already have a set of everyday stoneware, Christmas dishes and my grandmother's china which we use.
I don't think I would have a place for another set of dishes.
We just registered for everyday white dishes from pottery barn. I wanted all white so I could mix and match and use it for formal occasions if necessary. We are getting some of the larger plates monogrammed to make it more formal.
I registered for both, because I want to get a china hutch, but we'll see what I get. I'm second-guessing the pattern I picked out already...
I'd really honestly like to get an antique hand me down from my grandma or his family, it would mean a lot to us. If not, then that's a tradition I'll start with my own set. :)
We went with everyday china

Good ol' fashioned everyday dishes! I'll inherit a set or two of china down the line, thats good enough for me. Plus we don't host any family functions or parties, so the fancy stuff would just sit on a shelf & get dusty.

We registered for everyday dishes, but they aren't used for everyday. Those are our good dishes! :)

no china here..
I can't think of a single person that has china. Not even my grandma or his grandma has china.

We really have no need for china, so we just registered for everyday dishes.

I haven't registered for any--I have no need for it. I'd never host a large dinner on china anyway! When we moved into our first place in March we bought these awesome dishes that are good for everyday, but look really nice. I will be inheriting 2 sets of china from Italy...2 sets no one else in my family ever uses either...lol!

Both. I am happy with that. I'm a Lenox lover though, so everyone knew I would have a pattern, so it was sorta expected. But I did need to also pick something for everyday. We got most of it from showers and some of the china at our wedding. We will be the type to host holiday dinners and the like, and I will def use the china. Of course we don't use much of either yet, b/c we still live with my parents!!

I have yet to register, but we'll most likely register for both.

I WANTED to register for China, but DH had a good point - it was VERY much too expensive for anyone to buy us enough to have a set, we don't do enough FANCY entertaining to warrent the need for China (vs a nice everyday dish set, which we have, which I like), and we also have a lot of old relatives that have a lot of patterns that will eventually be handed down!
In the long run, I kind of still wish we did register for them. There's nothing saying we'd have to buy it ourselves, but it would have been a nice gift to recieve...

I didn't register for China, just everyday from Pottery Barn that I LOVE. I think China is a waste and an archaic tradition. It doesn't mean that I don't think it's beautiful and that I think it's not nice for other people, it's just not for me :)

We registered for Everyday because we need a good set of it. WE are also going to register for Everyday Christmas China because I  Christmas and would put it to good use during Christmas! We didn't register for good China though because I got my family china handed down to me after my mother died, and it is a complete set. And it is still sitting in boxes because I have nowhere to put it!

We just registered for everyday dishes. We didn't have room or the use for china right now, so we thought it was a waste.

Well. We registered only for a set of everyday dishes. That was my original intent.
Then, later, I wanted more than that.... I would love to get a set of fancy china, but a) we never have parties (yet) and b) we couldn't have registered for that at our wedding anyways because it was so small, there wouldn't be enough people to afford such things!
Later I ended up buying another set of everyday dishes. One we'll use all the time, the original set I put aside for sit-down dinners when we have it, once in a while. They're both nice sets though. Neither are formal.
