I got up to Indy on Thursday afternoon, where we just hung out all day and relaxed. We drove up on Friday morning (during which bart once smiled to himself and i asked him what he was laughing about and he played it off, turns out he was thinking about the proposal) through fog and rain and in Chicago it was really cloudy and cold- which really concerned Bart. After going to the Polish neighborhood for lunch and then shivering through the Cubs game it started clearing up. Bart was watching the sky the whole way, talking about watching the sunset on the beach. Hehehe...

Well, it cleared up during the game and after strolling around Wrigleyville, he suggested we go back to the hotel, freshen up, relax and then walk out to the beach and up through the city. So we got back, used the restroom and changed... he made me go to the restroom again to make sure I didn't get caught without a bathroom (found out later that this was a ruse for him to get the ring box out of his bag). So we walked out to the beach holding hands, we were going to go to a pier we took pictures on last year, but the lake was crashing onto it (very windy)... so we went on another one with a full view on Chicago and the sun was setting. It was really pretty, the sun was setting, and the lake was full of waves.

So, we stopped at a little lighthouse thing... and he had his arm around me (his heart was beating really fast, I remember)... and he started talking about how nice a day we had and how much he loved Chicago and I agreed, saying stuff about how much I had loved living there. He listed a few things he liked about it and then said "its the city where I found you again" and kissed me.

Then he said "and its the city where I'll ask you... (to be my wife)".... I put parentheses because I think that is what he said... I was in shock! - he went down on his knee and opened the box and I think he asked "will you marry me"... I was just staring at him (he had a big smile on his face) and the ring and then him again.

I said yes and leaned down to kiss him. He got up and put the ring on my finger and kissed me again. He asked if I liked the ring and I said "Yes!!! And I like you too!" ... He looked at me and said, "So that was a yes right?" LOL

I said yea, and we kissed again... and he said "You're a crazy girl, but you're mine". We cuddled on the pier and then headed back top the hotel to put the ring box back and call family and .. celebrate. the whole way back, he was telling me about buying the ring and telling my dad and all this stuff. Said he knew it was going to be in Chicago all along, had so many ideas, but was so scared to mess it up (he was so nervous)- that he kept it simple. I loved it.
