I'm going to try to post my WDS (a year later). Silly me didn't save my past journal, so this is a bit skimpy with writing! :) Oh well, I think everyone likes looking at the pictures most! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

The Presbyterian Church (which I'm a member of & where we got married) threw me a bridal shower. I had already had one in April (at school) and one in May (at the Christian Church). The shower was a lot of fun. I got a lot of GREAT gifts at all my showers. A lot of decorative stuff and useful things for around the house.
Opening camping cookware gift from in-laws. Yes, we LOVE to camp! We used this cookware on our vacation earlier this summer! My mom is the one in the black and white shirt.

Opening the Pizza Pizzaz that my mom got us. I had ruined her surprise
earlier in the week. I had seen that it was bought off the registry, and mentioned it, and she got mad, and told me that I had ruined the surprise. I DID feel bad! The lady in the background is Anne, one of the women of the church.

Shower
This is the day that my bridesmaids threw me a shower. We had it at the community room in the bank that it right behind my mom's house. This was for my bridesmaids, family, and college friends, primarily. It was a lot of fun. We had cake, fruit pizza, and a good time. Here are a couple of pictures from the shower. I love cows. My MatOH and one of my bridesmaids bought me a gift basket with a cow theme -- it included a spotted garter, and thongs for the bride and groom. Below are some pictures of that gift
Me opening the gift basket and looking at the holstein spotted gartar.

Dani, my MatOH, with the groom's thong on her head! Yes, she would probably be upset if she knew this picture was in my wedding story!

Bachelorette Party
So, after the shower was over, we took my gifts to my mom's house, loaded up a couple of cars, I changed my clothes, and we headed to Omaha for my bachelorette party. It was a small group of girls, but that was easier to manage in the city. Dani (MatOH) drove me up there. In the other car was Dee (BM), Gina (cake server), Laura (cake server), & Sally (SIL & Personal Attendant). One of my friends had hoped to come up from KC, but she was in a wedding that day, and couldn't make it. I did have a friend from Omaha, Rachel (Program passer-outer) who met up with us. Anyway, we went to Dani's house and dropped off our stuff, cleaned up a bit, and then headed into the city to a pottery place. I don't remember the name. Anyway, it's a place where you get to decorate your own pottery. So, we decorated dessert plates. It was a lot of fun.
After we were done decorating, I headed to the restroom, and ended up having a LITTLE drama. My capri pants I was wearing had a touchy zipper. I thought it was just me....nope, the zipper was broken and caught in the material, so I couldn't really get them zipped up or down! So, I came back out, and had some girls help me. We finally decided that we didn't want to deal with this ALL night when I needed to go to the bathroom. Luckily, Laura had brought her entire closet -- just kidding -- and had a black skirt in her bag in the van. Laura's a pretty small girl, and I wasn't sure I could wear the skirt, but it fit. So, I wore that for the evening. Little problem -- solved.
After we paid for the dishes, we headed to the Outback for dinner. We all sat in one booth, and started out with a nice drink. They have HUGE mixed drinks. They were good -- but EXPENSIVE! Anyway, we all had a nice dinner, and then headed up to a local bar (once again, I don't remember the name), to have a few drinks before we headed to the club. It was a nice bar, and after 9pm, you paid a $5 cover and all drinks were $1! It was nice. We had a few drinks there, and then headed to Club Niko.
None of us had ever been there before. It was a lot of fun. Really neat environment. Some of the girls have been to Vegas before (I haven't), and they said it reminded them of some of the clubs there. It was really neat. It has couches to sit on, a dance floor, a waterfall behind the bar. Pretty neat place. So, we danced, got spritzed with water, talked, and just had a fun time. We decided to head out a bit before 1am, before we had to deal with the rush at closing time. We headed back to Dani's apartment. Once we were there, we all decided we wanted Taco Bell. So a little before 2am, we headed to Taco Bell to get a snack. NOT a good idea. I was feeling the wrath of Taco Bell the next morning!
The next morning, we all got up in halfway decent time, and got our stuff around and headed back to Missouri. This was father's day, so I think I slept at my mom's for a while, then my dad stopped by a bit later so I could give him his father's day gift.
Here's pictures of some of the plates that the girls and I made:

This was Jeff's bachelor party. I really have a hard time with strippers and had told Jeff that he could go to the strip club for his bachelor party if he took me first, so I could see what it was like. Everyone says it's different than what you expect. Well, his brother (BM), said he'd heard that the strip club was out of the question for the b-party, so they started thinking of other ideas. I had never said it was out of the question, but oh well! Oh, by the way, I haven't been to the strip club yet, either!
Anyway, his brother decided that they'd just have a camp-out. Like I said, we like to camp. One of the groomsmen's parents lives out in the country, so they camped out on some of their property. I think they had lots of fun. The guys like to drive around OLD beat-up cars, and 4-wheelers. So, I think that's what most of their night entailed.
Well, I'd mentioned earlier that a friend of mine from KC (Shelly - cake server) couldn't make it to my b-party, so she and I had our own little fun night while Jeff was having his b-party. She and I met up about 11am to go to her parent's house. We had BLTs for lunch and were going to go out on the boat with her parents for the afternoon. Now, I sunburn VERY easily, so this was a bit of a scary plan for me -- i didn't want to look like a lobster in my wedding dress. Well, I put on lots of sunscreen and we headed to the lake. It was a lot of fun. However, I think I got sunscreen or something in my eyes. Because they started hurting. Anyway, I went tubing for the first time ever. It was fun, until we started to hit some big wakes from other boats, I finally had to stop, or my whole body would have been bruised! Anyway, by the time we left the lake, I couldn't keep my eyes open, they hurt so bad. Finally, we got back to Shelly's parents, and she brought me back to Jeff's house. We decided that I'd shower and get cleaned up, and see how my eyes felt. If she needed to, she said she'd come pick me up. Anyway, I showered, and my eyes still hurt, so I took a little nap, and that helped them some. I ended up going to the store and buying some eye drops which helped even more.
Well, I was still in the process of moving to Jeff's house, and the only clothes I'd moved so far were my t-shirts and sweatshirts. Shelly had suggested going to eat down on the Plaza at a nice seafood place. I didn't have any clothes. Luckily, Shelly did! So, she gave me about 5-10 options, and I found something, and so did she. We got all dressed up, and headed to the restaurant. When we got there they told us it'd be about 45-60 minutes to get a table. However, they said the bar was first come first serve. We found an empty table, and had ordered our food in 15 minutes, and were eating in about 30. It was a FUN time. We got to talk and get to know each other even better. After we were done eating, Shelly drove me around and showed me some places downtown, and showed me where she works, etc. Then we headed back to her house. We ended up watching a girly movie (our husbands don't like them) and then I headed home about 11pm. It was a lot of fun.
Jeff came home the next day, and was sunburnt -- luckily he got to wear a tux to cover up the tan lines!

8:00am -- Hair Appointment
We went to the hairstylist who has done my hair since I was 4. She had 2 weddings that day, so we had to be there at 8am. My hairstylist put the rollers in my hair, and they were TOO heavy for me to hold my head up, so I went and laid down on a bench.

After our hair was done, we headed to the church. Our hair took a lot less time than we had thought, so we had a couple of hours to just hang out at the church before we had to get ready!

Here is pictures of us seeing each other for the first time! This time was delayed for a few minutes because I'd lost some weight since my last fitting, and the straps on my dress wouldn't stay up, so we got some white thread and tied the straps together in the back -- so they'd stay up!

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7, 13
Read by a family friend of mine:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

"True Love" - Author Unknown
True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh deamands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

After the ceremony we had a receiving line in the back of the church, and then we took a couple of pictures on the stairs in the entry of the church:

Instead of rice, bubbles, flower petals, or bird seed, we had people play kazoos. So, if you see something in their mouth, that's what it is :)

So, we drove around a bit after the wedding. Jeff wanted to go right to the reception site, but I wouldn't let him. I had a surprise planned for him and I needed the photographer to get to the reception site before us so she could get pictures.
Jeff seeing/hearing his surprise -- we hired a bagpiper to pipe us into the reception. He was SO surprised I kept a secret from him.

Well, apparently Jeff's brother (the bestman) had heard that I Did NOT want my car decorated (I'd never said this -- I just didn't want anything that would Hurt the car). Anyway, Jeff's dad said that our car WOULD be decorated so he set out to get some TP & they put cans on the back!

We left that night and went to the Leid Center (http://www.liedlodge.org/) for the night. We woke up at about 1am and were STARVING and realized we only had 3 dollars. So we headed to the hotel's snack machine for a bag of chips and a bag of cookies.
The next day we had a gift opening with close family and friends and ate some leftovers from our wedding meal. We then headed home to prepare for our honeymoon!

Well, we flew to Anchorage, Alaska for our honeymoon and stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton (http://homewoodsuites.hilton.com/en/hw/hotels/index.jhtml;jsessionid=A2X1URO4EZHO4CSGBIW222QKIYF CVUUC?ctyhocn=ANCHWHW). We rented a car and took day trips around the area. One day we went to Seward and took a 4 hour wildlife cruise.
This picture was taken at 10pm on our wildlife cruise -- yes it was a BIT chilly (hence the stocking cap, jacket, and jeans!)

We also took a trip to Matanuska Glacier and I convinced Jeff to pay so we could walk out on it:

We didn't want to make the long drive up to Denali National Park to see Mt. McKinley and we lucked out -- we had a clear day and could see it from Anchorage at Airport Park:

We got to the airport a bit before our flight and found out that we were going to be delayed by an hour (we were taking a red-eye.) Anyway, we got into Denver at 7:30ish and missed our connecting flight, so we hung out until about 3pm in the Denver airport. So, we took turns sleeping upstairs in the airport. Once we got on our plane we made it back home by like 5ish and our mom's met us at our house, with Cooper! :)
I think I'm finished....feel free to post away!

Thanks for stopping by Kristie! Neither one of us are beachy people (I get TOO sunburnt) so we decided to go somewhere different and we both had always wanted to go to Alaska, so we decided no time was better than the present

Thanks for stopping by LeAna....I was very impressed with my wedding day hair....my hairstylist is GREAT, and we decided on that style the day of the wedding...we'd done a trial, and then changed it up a bit the day of the wedding...she's been doing my hair since I was 4! The pic from the balcony is one of my favorites in our album! :)
