*My birthday proposal*

I love telling my proposal story again!!

February 20th, 2006

Bryan told me a month before my birthday he would be taking me away somewhere for a surprise get-a-way! I had no idea where it was and was so excited to find out!! So we hop on the ferry that morning and set sail for the Sunshine Coast!! We drive up to this beautiful bed and breakfast and take our stuff in. We had the entire top floor of a house to ourselves. It was absolutely breath taking!!

I am totally blown away by this place! We had a jacuzzi tub in our room plus a hot tub outside! It was amazing!

After that we drive around the little town, it was kind of chilly out so there was not much to do and a lot of places were closed for the season. But we found a cute beach and took some pictures.

February 21st, 2006 - MY BIRTHDAY!

We wake up and the night before I had a dream he had proposed to Nicole Kidman and not me.. for whatever weird reason. And the entire night I was planning my wedding in my sleep (also bizarre!) We get up and for some reason the whole morning I keep telling myself "He is not going to propose, stop thinking he is because then you will just get dissapointed!!" The whole mood felt weird, but good weird... I didn't notice until he told me later but he was pacing our entire suite because he was so nervous!!

So we eat breakfast and it was delicious!! Then he said "Ok sit on the couch and I will go get your presents!" He comes back and he hands me a card and said "It's just a card!" I smile and open it.

Inside he wrote that we were going on a bit of a treasure hunt.
I had $150 to spend on a piece of artwork, furniture, or anything I wanted for our house. SO COOL! I was happy with that and ready to get on with our day. Then he hands me something else. It is a book that I had given him 14 months prior. I gave it to him Christmas 2004. It's a couples book and you keep track of all the important milestones in your relationship. Well on one of the pages it says "What I have always wanted to tell you..." and I had written there before "I love you". We had never said it at that point so it was a HUGE step for us (this was 5 months into dating). So fast forward to my birthday - he hands it to me ALL FILLED OUT! He finally did his part! I am flipping through laughing and crying at certain parts and I get to this page and here is what I see!

I instantly burst into tears! I am trying so hard to remember everything that is happening while it is happening. It was like an out of body experience. He gets down on one knee and says "Stacie, I am not too sure what to say but I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" I am SOBBING non-stop. I keep asking him if this is for real because I just can't believe it. And he keeps reassuring me that it is. I was trying so hard to not get mascara on his freshly washed white lacoste shirt, can you believe I was even thinking that when I got engaged?! hahaha... We then phone my mom and tell her and she is screaming and 3 ways my aunt on the phone and we are all crying and screaming and laughing. It was the most amazing day. We found a little internet cafe to e-mail our friends and family. I have a blackberry cell phone so once we left the internet cafe I was able to get everyone's responses to my email throughout the day. That's my story.. sorry it is so long :)

And of course it was my birthday, so here we are at my birthday dinner. I was already starting my wedding planning not even 12 hours into being engaged. We were making up our guest list ;)
