Well, Jeff & I had been talking about getting married for a while...actually, his parents asked him if I would be getting a ring our first Christmas together (4 months of dating). Well, at one point he told me I'd be engaged by the end of the summer. Being a school teacher, summer ends July 31...but according to him summer ends at the end of August/end of September. So, at one point he said I'd be engaged by Sept. 1, 2004. Well, time came and went and there was never a proposal and I was convinced that we were NEVER going to get engaged.
Well, I had started my new teaching job and Hated Sundays because I knew I would be away from Jeff for a couple of days. I talked to Jeff in the morning of August 30, 2004 and was feeling a bit "homesick." During the day, I sent him an email saying, "I Love You" He sent one back saying, "I love you too!" This really made my day and made me happy. Anyway, I worked at school until 5pm, and then came home and changed into my pajamas and ate left-over mac-and-cheese while I watched my taped soap opera. At about 6pm that night, the doorbell rang at my apartment, and I couldn't figure out who was at my house. It was Jeff. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he just came to surprise me. I didn't think anything was going on at this point. Well, I gave him a hug and told him that he'd made my day with the email he'd sent me earlier. He said mine had made his day, but what would make it even more was if I would be his wife. He pulled the ring out of his back pocket and put it on my finger. After I kissed him and said yes, my phone rang. It was my mom....she had NO IDEA that he was going to propose, so we got to tell her and then we called EVERYONE we knew! :)
