I feel like a complete idiot for asking this, but I'm actually really curious. I've never been to a bridal shower before, and mine is on August 5th. I'm super excited becuase I have friends and family coming from all over, but I have no idea what actually happens at a bridal shower. Do you just eat cake and drink? I'm so confused! LOL! I feel like such a jerk! Could someone please explain to me what they do at one of these? Thank you

Strangely enough, most wedding showers I've been to can be likened to a childhood birthday party... You eat finger foods and cake, you open presents and sometimes you get to play silly games. (Though I think the games thing is regional, I'd never heard of it before joining some wedding message boards.)

Huh, I never thought of it that way, but that's true, it's a lot like a kid's birthday party!

LOL! Thank you! It's so funny that you mention childhood birthday parties...that's what I was imagining while hearing stories of other people's showers! LOL! Well hey, I figure you can't go wrong with cake and daquaris! ;)

Games were the fun of my shower...we all started with a clothes pin on our shirt and if you heard someone say the "W" word you could steal thier pin...rather funny to see the ruthless grabbing of pins :lolroll: I lost mine first!

Yup, definitely like a kid's birthday party :) Any that I have been to have had games, food, presents, silly hats (and lots of pictures of the bride-to-be in said silly hat)...and lots of laughs :)

It depends, but I know it's regional. If it's a bridal "tea" there are no games and it's a just "drop by whenever" sort of format.

If it's a bridal "shower" there are games and there's a set time.

Yes, they are just like a childrens birthday party.
