I don't even know what to do with 3 months to go.
I should have listened to myself when I was doubting it months ago..but then I would try it on and feel okay about it. Today I just tried it on again and I can't make myself okay with it. I don't feel pretty in it it. At all.
I just want to sit here and cry now.
Word of advice....never buy your dress too far in advance and never let people pressue you when it comes to dress shopping. Right now I'm so f'ing angry at the dress shop for not even giving me a minute to freaking think that day that I bought it. They were just so freaking eager to sell those dresses.
And yeah...I wish I would have known our 38934789 dates prior to this one wasn't going to work out because I wouldn't have bought the damn thing to begin with.
I don't even know what to do. My mom helped pay for the dress so I know she's going to be pissed.
oh honey, I'm so sorry you are going through this. Is there any way you can find something off the rack that you might like? You do still have some time, I mean, you are three months out, so it seems like not enough, but if you don't like it, then make sure to explore all your options.

You can also get a new dress in time if you want. I got a Bonny dress, but my bridal shop didn't have it in a sample. Bonny does a "Borrow a Bonny" program. They shipped a brand new dress to the shop for me to try on. If I liked it, it was mine to keep! I had to pay shipping for the dress, but it was worth it! I had my dress in about 14 days.

Is there anyway you can take it to a seamstress and have it altered to your satisfaction. Maybe add extra beading or something

There was one girl on here (I think Mandy??) who got her dress really close to her wedding, and for only $49!! So I think you definitely have time to find the right dress for you :)

I think it would have to be altered drastically. I don't know. I can't get over how different it looks on me than it does in the picture and on the hanger. The wrap type waist doesn't wrap...it is just sharp lines and it cuts me off at about above the belly button. I have short legs so it looks like I have a short waist and short legs and just makes me look freaky. And I'm thinking now it was not a dress made for people who have bigger boobs...it just creates a line of ...shoulders/boobs/waist/skirt...nothing smooth flowing....
Man I think how beautiful some of those dresses I tried on made me feel and then how mine makes me feel and just :bawling:

:hug99: Raychel, I just came from your journal so I knew you were not happy right now with your dress. I'm so sorry you are feeling that way with your wedding getting so close. But don't give up all hope. Things have a way of working out and you deserve to feel beautiful on your wedding day.

I'm glad to have you girls :) You guys "get" it, as to why a bride doesn't walk down the aisle in something she doesn't like and feel great in.
I'll figure something out. I have to.

Aw, Raychel. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way about your dress. I don't have any great words of advice, but I wanted to offer my support. I hope that you're able to find something that you will be happy with (and that your budget and timeline can like, as well). :)

About altering the dress...it could work. Maybe. I'm not entirely sure since I can't visually see the dress.

If you are open to selling the dress, you can buy on off the rack or off ebay.
I bought my dress off ebay for $175.00 and it was NOT a NAME BRAND but no one knew or cared. Everyone just loved the dress including me :)
I don't know how much you paid for your dress, brand name, etc so I can't guarantee you will get your orginal price out of it but maybe enough to pay for the new dress ?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm thinking of trying to find one online. It makes me nervous, but it also seems like the only chance to get something that I want in time for the wedding that I can afford.
At this rate I would be happy to get 1/2 back for the dress...I don't know...I may put some ads in local papers...ebay is so flooded with dresses

Yep ebay is but some of those sell Very well!! If you offer it at a good price it would sell!! (I already have mine but I love to watch some other ones sell!!) You should try all the bridal shops in your area!! I almost got one that was discontinued off the rack for $200 I think and they were going to alter it down from a size 12 I think to a 4 for me, Free!! You can find BEAUTIFUL dresses for a great price on clearance! Or if you buy off the rack they most of the time give you a BIG discount!! I was going to do that with the dress I got but my dress was to new so they wouldn't discount it! It is worth a try!! Before you buy off line make sure you try on similar dresses so you know you will like it!!I would hate for you to go through this again!! *HUGS* I hope you find one that is PERFECT!! Keep us posted!

Raychel,
There is still time to find a gown off the rack & have it altered. You may also find your dream gown online at one of the sites listed in this thread. Just set aside some time (soon) and go gown hunting, this time you will be aware of the high pressure tactics employed at some gown shops and know how to avoid that trap. Have you tried (please don't anyone shoot me) David's Bridal-they have plenty on the rack and many sales all year long.
Although you think your mother may get upset with you, she may be more understanding than you think if you tell her how you honestly feel about the dress. Buying it so far in advance has its drawbacks, it has advantages too ... but you had no way of knowing the date would be changed a few times, and with that time- styles and tastes change as well.
I wish you the best of luck finding the gown of your dreams. It is out there, you will find it for your wedding.

I haven't seen your dress - do you have a piccy?
But the bottom line is if you're not happy with it, you owe it to yourself to get another one. I agree with the ladies here - you can surely sell it on Ebay.

^^There's a pic in my journal. I don't feel like digging it out right now, maybe later..but if you want to go look sooner, it is there :)
Paula...I won't shoot you :) I actually went to Davids on Friday. Um, they just pissed me off. Not one person said hello or offered to help me. Some of the people working even made direct eye contact with me and didn't even crack a smile. I just dragged some dresses off the racks myself and took them to some dressing rooms where a woman approached me when I was more or less naked and told me I couldn't use that row of dressing rooms b/c they were reserved for alterations like I was a child. I just left. There was NO one there for alterations so it wasn't like I was causing a problem. Excuse the bridezilla appearance but I'm the bride, I'm the grown woman, I'm the one with the money, I'll try on dresses anywhere I damn well please. Yeah. :D

Thanks Raychel, I saw your piccy in your journal. I think its pretty (I'm leaning towards an Alfred Angelo, too), but if you don't feel pretty in it, then it has to go!
We have 2 David's Bridals in my area. I've found one to be great while the other, you had to pull teeth to get waited on! I feel your pain there!!

Hey there!!
I just wanted to offer some words of encouragement! I had a dress that wasn't working for me. I went out literally 1 WEEK before my wedding and bought my dream dress for $49 that needed no alterations! There are places out there that you can find something perfect off the rack.
Keep looking...you'll find something ;)
