Pearls

I was thinking of having pearls as my theme (because I love to wear pearls and they are my birthstone so they are very "me"). does anyone have any ideas about how to incorporate them? Thank you in advance!

Are you thinking pearl as your colors? I can see that as a beautiful theme- all soft shades of neutral. Or were you thinking of incorporating the pearl strand into your dress, invitations, cake, flowers, etc? Or both?

Awww! Thanks for the warm welcome! I am so happy to have found this board; it has already been such a great resource.

I am not sure how literal I want to take the pearl thing. Right now I am thinking more abstractly, like colors and stuff (maybe the colors of white pearls, pink pearls and black pearls). But I am also possibly thinking of incorporating pearls themselves if I can do so without it being garrish. Any ideas?

Oh, I like that pearl bunting. very cool! I think since my dress is lace, we are going to go with a lace/pearl theme...sort of, just hints of it here and there...we are going to do the pearls around the wedding cake, lace of the cake table, head table, gift table. Lace hand-tied bouquets...you could have those pins that have pearls on the ends placed into your bouquet...you could also use pearls in your centerpieces...my cousin had pillar candles with pins (pearls at the ends) pushed into the bases...I wish I had a picture it was SO pretty!

Also, on ebay, there are toasting flutes made by lenox for like 30 bucks with pearls in the stems...they are very pretty! :)

Also love the idea of pearl pins and sticking them in the candles and my bouquet...i will search for pics to see if i can find any pics of them in candles...you girls are the best!!!

the pearl pins in the candles were SO pretty, They were all DIY so she just got friends and family together one day to make them...the pearls went around the candles in bands...she had red roses and pearls has her theme...so red and ivory/pearl were her colors...it was VERY elegant! :) Red roses cascading down the cake! The ivory pillars with pearls and red rose petals on the tables...the girls had red dresses and ivory flowers, and the bride had red roses...it was spectacular! :)

Even though it is bubbles/champagne themed, there are a lot of cakes, dresses, etc. that would work with a neutral on neutral pearl theme, too.

I actually ended up with pearls incorporated into my wedding stuff even though I was never the biggest fan of pearls, but it turned out nice.

HI Laurencane,
Please be careful about the pushpins in the candles, notice they are no where near the flame. I learned the hard way, one time I pushed rhinestone pins all over a candle and when the heat of the candle reached the pins, they popped out of the candle and flew across the room! Only put the pins at the bottom like the picture shows :)

Yeah Paula...they are pretty neat! There is also a set by lenox that has crystals in the stems too...just search jubilee toasting flutes on ebay! They are MUCH cheaper than the real swavorski ones!

Oh heck had i known that I would have gotten the flutes with the crystal stems in them, but the swarovski ones were way out of range for us. I am way to frugal to buy them even IF I had that kind of money...lol.
