View Full Version : Should I get a bigger slip?
I love my dress but I hate the pictures I have of me in it.

It looks like the material just hangs there, is it because it isn't steamed? My mom thinks I need a bigger slip for the dress. I'm just all confused with my dress. Am I seeing things? Is this how its suppose to look? Please help girls any suggestions.
Here is another dress I tried on that day and was seriously considering, see how the material looks like its smooth and not just hanging.

I think it may be a combination of not being steamed and needing a slightly larger crinoline.... It's a very pretty dress!
yup, I agree, steam it, and if that doesn't take care of it, get a larger crinoline. Has it been altered yet? It also might be a little long for you.
nope its not altered yet. Its actually the right length, but I don't think I'm wearing my shoes in the picture though. I love it in person, but these pictures make me 2nd guess it. :( Here is the model pics of the dress:

Your dress is amazing!! I think you should consider getting a larger crinoline. I would take your dress into a shop and try some differant sizes on. I think that might give it the "oomph" you're looking for. You look stunning in your dress though :)

I agree--a larger crinoline should help.
I also think you should get a larger crinoline.

I agree with everyone else. It probably does need to be steamed but I think that major factor is that it needs to be a little fuller. :)
ETA: BEAUTIFUL DRESS!!!

I would just have your seamstress add extra tulle to it. Mine told me she would do it but it did not need it. So i would not buy a new one just alter yours

i think it just needs more tulle too! have you tried other slips (such as a hoop skirt) or anything??

I would do a bit of a bigger crinoline. You have broader shoulders that would allow you to get away with it (not calling you a quarterback or anything!!) the top and bottom would be better balanced.
Alright, that TOTALLY does not sound how I want it to sound. To answer your question, I would go with a poufier crinoline. :) But they both look lovely on you!
Thanks girls! I went into my shop and tried on a bigger one. But its like all they had was huge & smaller than the one I have on in the picture. I was like there is no inbetween sizes??? She said no. Once my dress comes in I'll mess with it. But I'll def ask about adding more tulle maybe to the one I already have.
Thanks again! I'm sure once my dress comes in I'll be back to get your opinions
