I'm trying to finish the design for our invites, and I've come across some questions about the insert cards.
Since we are doing our own music, I'd like to ask for our guests' input on a few songs they might like to hear at the dance. Would it be okay to put this on the response card? If so, how should I word it?
Our reception is being held at the same location as the ceremony. All of the reception cards I've seen online seem to list the venue name and address. Should do this even though it's at the same place?

I was going to do something similar but I ran out of time. :hehe:
The wording I used was something like:
"Our Celebration is Your Celebration.
Do you have a special song that you would like to hear? If so, please write it down and hand it to our D.J."
I was going to print them on business cards and have some left on each of the table for the guests to fill out during the course of the reception.
Hope this helps. :)

I would just put reception to follow at time or reception immediately following ceremony on the invitation (when I take orders and they are at the same location they always are done liek this)
As for the music thing:
Please respond
on or before___________
M__________________
___ will attend
___ will not attend
Songs I'd love to hear

I thought about doing the reception info as corner copy on the invite. However, we're having a no-host bar serving only beer and wine. So, I wanted to relay that information, and I was going to do that as corner copy on the reception card. So, would it be better to do corner copy of all the info on the invite, or could I do a reception card where I list the name of the venue but not give the address again? :headscratch:

Will you be including a map insert? You could do something with simple wording like "Ceremony and Reception will be held at 123 Fake St., ect.".
I love the idea of having a space for songs! You could do the business card idea and enclose them, or leave on the tables and put a little sign on there with them letting guests know what they're there for.
I love all your ideas, you're such a creative person! Good luck!!

Because we're using the song suggestions to create our playlist, I have to get the information prior to the reception. I think that I will just include it at the bottom of the RSVP postcard. That won't look tacky, will it? :shrug2:
I'd like to include a map, but I'm really confused on how to do it. Anyone have suggestions for those?
Thanks for the compliment, Mandy. :) That was awfully kind of you. :o

I think including it at the bottom of the rsvp card is fine I think it would look good!! How fun!
I did my map by find one I liked online then I saved it as a picture. I then went into word where I did my inserts and brought it in as a picture. I then drew a line following the streets from the church to the reception hall, where most people will be staying, in color. I also put colored star at the church and another different colored star at the reception site.
I hope that helps!

Aramelle- you're very welcome! It's all very true!
I think it'll look great at the bottom of the RSVP card! I would love to receive one like that! I think it's a more "fun" way to include your guests!
Are you blocking off rooms at a hotel? You could do a map from the hotel to the ceremony/reception spot. Or, you could just find a map on mapquest or something like that, and zoom out so you can see the surrounding streets. Most people mapquest the directions from where they'll be anyway.
