My FMIL hosted mine. We had a one big one with both sides of family and friends.

I am going to end up with two...

#1 will be hosted by my youth group girls and probably be at the house of one of the church ladies... this is so the youth group girls can come to the shower.

#2 is going to be hosted by my MOH and be at a local bar somewhere... this is the one that the youth group girls can't come too for obvious reasons...

when i get married, i will prolly have atleast 2 that i know of, unless MOH does one(hehe a personal one). I will be having one from the church and then my mom and aunts will give me a family one

We know about one shower already - it will be hosted by Jer's Best Person :) She has already asked if we would mind. And quite frankly, I'm relieved that it will be a mixed shower so that Jer will be able to tell me who all these people are that I don't know :lol2:

I have had one shower already and it was hosted by FSIL and FMIL for their side of the family.
I will be having one for my side of the family and I figure that my sister and mom will host that one along with the rest of the BP.
Tradition is that the last day of work the bride gets a shower as well from all of her coworkers. So we shall see! :)

I had three showers...one hosted by a friend of FMIL (but really planned by FMIL, I'm convinced :lol2: ), one hosted by two friends of my mom, and one by my MOH :)

I had my first shower last month and it was hosted mainly by my mother and MOH although it was at FMIL's house (she didn't do more than offer the house though - whole other story:giggle: ). My second shower will be hosted by my two remaining BMs (with my help).

It's kind of a joint effort between two BM's and my MOH, but I think so far it's mostly the BM's. I'm so excited, I received my invite yesterday and I know one BM is mailing the rest out today or tomorrow I think. It's on August 19 so it's coming up quickly!

No one. I didn't have a bridal shower, and it's still bugs me. I feel like I missed out. My Mom wasn't a part of my wedding planning at all and my friends in my wedding all live in different states. I still feel sad about not having one.

My mother organized it, but technically my bm's threw it. They all did a wonderful job too. I know family is not supposed to do it, but all of my bm's are family.

I just had a surprise shower last Sunday and it was organized by all of my BM at it was held at a BM house. It was so much fun and they did a great job! :)

I know that I am at least having one... if not two. I know of 1 because my aunt is already planning it! And then fmil told me that she wanted to do a co-ed shower.

This is an old thread but I thought I'd revive it.

I don't know who is going to be hosting my bridal shower. So far, no one's offered and I have very few female relatives around. I heard that my mom isn't really supposed to do it, but I feel like FMIL will be just as clueless as my mom about it...so we'll see what happens!

So...who threw yours?

My understanding is that family members are not supposed to host a shower because it is a gift giving event.

In this area, brides usually have a shower hosted by friends and/or bridesmaids, and parents friends host one for the MOB/MOG's friends. This can go on and include a work shower, neighborhood shower etc. etc.

We love to host parties!

Jer's Best Person is throwing us a co-ed shower in Ohio...but another shower has been added. One of my BM's wants to host one here as well :) Hopefully the rest of the BP will get involved, but who knows :shrug:

I didn't think I was getting one. But my MaOH flew into Ohio spur of the moment when I freaked out. So my aunt threw one together at her house with my MaOH, MOH, another aunt, my mom, and 2 cousins. We just played games, I didn't open any gifts. But my family *loves* playing any kind of game so it ended up being a blast for last minute planning.
