Who didn't take their honeymoon right after the wedding? Why?

We only took a little trip right after the wedding to Michigan, because we got married in October and only got a few days off work. We hope to take a bigger trip later, but it always seems to get pushed back.

We aren't either. We are heading to a bed and breakfast for two (or three, depending on what we can afford and get off from work) nights but otherwise we aren't taking our "real" honeymoon until February of 2007 (deposit is DOWN!).

We decided it probably wasn't wise to take a big honeymoon right after the wedding for a couple of reasons... One, we didn't know if either of us would have a new job by then that might interfere with plans. Two, we didn't want to spend the money. Three, since a lot of our family is from out of town we didn't want to just skip town on Sunday and not get to visit with anyone.

We're going to be staying in a hotel the night of the wedding, the week after is totally open but we may go up to Maine for a bit because my MOH's mother owns like 1/8th of a house and that's their week to be up there.... and THEN the weekend after the wedding we're supposed to be going to to stay for a night or two at the Carter Notch Inn in Jackson, NH...

We may take a larger honeymoon later on, but for now this is good.

We're not going on our honeymoon until after Christmas. The main reason is that FH is still in school and he doesn't get a break until then. We're going to start planning our trip right after the wedding.

We're not planning on waiting, but I've known one couple who has, and another who regrets not waiting. My MOH and her husband spent three nights in cabin in upper Washington. Nothing fancy, just really casual to allow them plenty of time to relax and wind down. Then, six months later, they took their real honeymoon--a two-week Carribean cruise.

A former colleague of mine wishes she had waited. I can't recall where they went on their honeymoon, but she remembers being utterly exhausted the day after, which made traveling a bit grinding.

We won't be taking one ..

#1 -We bought a house in March
#2-We are barely affording the wedding
#3-Can't afford to take time off work

I am in high hopes in March we can afford to take a weekend off and go do something. Would be great to get away.

Just not that big of deal to us..we already live together and very grateful for that and that we were able to get a house.
