Wedding Day Story is open to posting now! Thanks for stopping by! And enjoy! (I hope!)
Here we go!
4 days to go:
Kiowa's mom arrived shortly after my last class on Wednesday. We hadn't expected her to arrive so soon but she left early to beat a huge snowstorm that hit Wisconsin. Once she got here it seemed to immediately hit that okay this is it, we're going to be getting married soon! I think it did Kiowa too.
Soon after she got here, she & Kiowa went to Walmart to pick up some things and I stayed home. While they were gone by dad called. As some of you know, 2 weeks or so prior to this he suddenly decided he couldn't scrap together the money to come to the wedding. When he had a year's notice I didn't buy it.
I asked him if he was coming to the wedding. Oh gee, both his cars just happened to be broken down! He started going on about how if somebody would pick him up in Knoxville he could take a bus. Um, and what cart him around on our honeymoon. No thanks.
I was totally pissed and upset and called Kiowa. Kiowa told me not to worry about it, that my dad was not worth my time anymore. I knew he was right because that is pretty much how I was starting to feel so I tried to relax.
That evening when they came back, we all went out to eat together, and Kiowa's mom footed the bill:eyebrows: I was more interested in my mojitos than my food though  Then I later went to Target with Kiowa's mom and picked up some wrapping paper to wrap the gifts I had bought for our moms. They both got Foundations angels & I was especially proud of the one I bought for Kiowa's mom b/c it was a great one for a mother-in-law.

3 Days Before the Wedding:
Thursday felt totally insane. I had to take an early Astronomy exam and when I got back Kiowa was in class for the rest of the evening and his mom was no where to be found.
I decided to head over to Aldi's to get some food for the cabin but half way there I realized I was about out of gas. The "swing around the block" turned out to be a 45 minute ordeal in rush hour traffic so I gave it up and went to Walmart. I just through a bunch of stuff in the cart, and I'm glad I didn't plan us any meals out b/c we ended up eating out most of the time we were in Tennessee even though I swore we wouldn't.
After I got home I did some more wedding stuff and wrapped the moms' gifts. Then I realized I had forgotten to purchase a cooler for the food. And I needed more change to finish laundry so back to the stores I went.
When I came back home I saw a box waiting outside of my door. I immediately knew who it was from. Our own sweet Diane had told me that she was going to send me something.
As soon as I saw the box I burst into tears. Happy tears, mind you. I was so overwhelmed by her kindness & her thoughtfulness. I cried when I opened the box and cried when I saw the beautiful flowers that she had sent us. They were so gorgeous and unexpected although I should have known to not expect anything less than gorgeousness from Diane. The flowers made me feel so much better about everything. It reminded me that people cared and were thinking of us.

Later that night we began packing up our stuff and loading the car. Scratch that. Me, myself, & I began packing and loading the car is more like it. It was nearly 2 am before we got anywhere close to being ready for bed. Kiowa was supposed to be driving so I tried sending him off to bed while I finished up.
At around 2:30 Kiowa got up looking worried & stressed and told me he couldn't sleep. He was sort of having a cold feet moment so we talked about some things together. It really scared me at first, like no way you can do this to me days before we are supposed to get married! But it turned out to be totally normal concerns we both had and I'm really glad we had that oppurtunity to talk about them even if it was only days before the wedding.
At that point it was so late I wondered how we would be able to leave in the morning. Kiowa also told me that he had a "bad" vibe about leaving in the morning, but he didn't want me to think he was silly for telling me that. Of course I didn't think that and what I didn't tell him is that I had been having a strange vibe as well the whole day so when he told me that it kind of scared me a bit because I am one of those people that believe big time in gut instincts (everytime I have ever ignored one I have had my ass handed to me, thank yah!)
It was 4 am or so and we both just decided to leave later in the day. We would just end up having to forfeit a night at our cabin though, but decided it would be worth it for a less stressful trip.

2 Days Before the Wedding
We slept in that morning instead of getting up at the ass crack of dawn and leaving.
After showering & getting dressed I headed over to campus to print off some last minute stuff. When I came back we finished loading up the car and decided it was time to hit the old dusty trail. Kiowa's mom decided to drop Nacho off at the kennel for us since it would be a bit out of our way.
The drive down was thankfully uneventful! (Can't say that for the way back..grr) We had a slow down b/c we hit Dayton & Cincinatti around rush hour time but after that it was pretty smooth sailing.
We made a couple of rest stops and arrived at the Tennessee Welcome Center at the state line at about 11 pm or so. We picked up a ton of of tourist information for fun and then checked into a Holiday Inn Express near Knoxville and crashed there for the rest of the night.

1 Day Before the Wedding
We got up early on Saturday, packed back up the stuff we dragged into the hotel and headed back out on the road to Pigeon Forge. I had been so nervous that whole week but I knew it was getting bad when it took me nearly a whole hour to eat a carrot muffin :laugh3: I think I finished the thing right around the time we arrived in Pigeon Forge.
The first time seeing the mountains was just breathtaking. So beautiful! I come from the flat land of cornfields and haven't done much traveling, so yeah it was really exciting for me.

We drove into Pigeon Forge, found our cabin rental office and picked up our information to go find our cabin!
Our cabin was located in the mountains in what they call the "spur" between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd29b3127cce8241c4bfee1700000016108Iatm7Fo4aA
We turned off Parkway, the main road, and headed up a tiny mountain road. We were shocked by the moutain roads! Steep. And the turns were so sharp. Very scary the first few times going up and down, especially at night!
We arrived at our cabin and found that the driveway also contained another steep drop and all that was stopping one from going over a nice sized ledge was a tiny wooden fence. I was surprised that most of the roads did not have guard rails or anything. If you went over, you would have just went over. A tree might stop you, eventually. No way I would ever drive on those things in winter! I have much respect for the people who live up there  I would be too much of a wuss.
As soon as I saw the cabin it was LOOOOOOOOOOVE. So cute! And very cabin like, which is what I wanted of course when I went for the cabin.

We quickly unloaded our stuff & headed back into Pigeon Forge to pick up our marriage license. We had preregistered for it online through the County Clerk's Office so all we had to do was go in, sign some papers and pick it up. All very easy.
The County Clerk's Office:

After we picked that up, we decided to go check out the chapel so we knew where it was at and just to see where it was located and what it looked like. I was kind of worried b/c we passed a TON of chapels on the main strip of road...some I had checked out the websites before we chose ours. A lot of the chapels were very cheesey looking on the main strip and where the website had pictured them back in the mountains or something with pretty scenery...nope they were right there bunched in with tourist shops and other randomness.
Our chapel was left off of Stoplight #3... about 2 miles up the road and pushed back off any main strips. We pulled up the drive and there was a big wedding going on that day. I was pleased to see that the outside at least looked like the pics on their website.
Big huge cross in front of a church they were building on the chapel road I thought was neat:

Then we headed back to our cabin. I made one last phone call to my dad b/c I needed to confirm numbers.
No surprise. He wasn't coming. It hurt me that my wedding day was not important enough for him to show up. But having 2 weeks to deal with that reality made me so over it that I can't say I really cared anymore. I have come to the realization that no matter how many times I forgive him or how much I love him, those two things cannot change a person. If something this important to me seems meaningless to him, then maybe I just need to reevaluate his place in my life, plain & simple.
That bull aside, everyone else arrived safely that evening. Kiowa's mom just much later than everyone else.
We ended up going to dinner that evening with my mom. We also would take the cake over to set up at the restaurant and start decorating.
Nobody could decide where to eat so we decided to check out Gatlinburg. Big mistake. Saturday night, traffic was horrible! And it wasn't even tourist season yet. I can't imagine what it is like there when it is. Traffic was so bad we gave up and went back to Pigeon Forge, but in the meantime it took us over an hour to get though and back from the tiny ass town that is Gatlinburg, or at least the main strip. I didn't get hardly any pics of Gatlinburg b/c when we went there Monday to walk around and go to the aquarium, I had managed to use up all the memory on my memory card.

More mountain pics...that evening was so pretty. If you're wondering how the weather was up to this point...it had been gorgeous and sunny. Warm too.

So finally we ate! After all that we just ended up at the Golden Corral. It never fails though. I was actually hungry for a change too.
Kiowa & I were getting really tired though from all the driving and what not. We were both slowly transforming into groomzilla/bridezilla. My mom kept telling me to relax...ha, easier said than done.
She suggested that we could take the stuff over to the restaurant tomorrow (wedding day) but I knew there would be no time. We had to do it that night. I also realized I had forgotten to contact to the salon to confirm our appointment and see about making it an hour later. In retrospect it didn't matter b/c we had a hell of a time finding the place.
After we ate we headed back into Gatlinburg to find Greenbrier Restaurant. Nope, that couldn't be easy either. We ended up on some back roads into the mountains. We ended up having to get out of the car on a dark wooded road so my mom could get reception on her phone and call them for better directions. Yeah, imagine a frustrated bride standing in the middle of the woods at nearly 9 o'clock at night  I was just waiting for something to pop out and eat us.
We finally found the place though. It was gorgeous!!!! I was so proud of myself for choosing it. It was all warm, cozy, & glowy.
My mom began setting up the cake. She had been flipping out about that cake. And from what I'm told, made my brother and her husband miserable the whole way down flipping out about it  This was the first time she had done a wedding cake though so I just think she wanted it to be perfect.
I got sick of sitting around and started decorating. Unfortunately Kiowa's mom had some of my stuff I needed for decorating, mainly the centerpiece stuff which was kind of a huge deal and she had still not arrived yet, and this was making bridezilla peek in from time to time.
I was pleasantly surprised though by my surplus of petals. I really got to layer them on the tables & cake tables which is what I wanted to do all along. Yay.
So for those of you who don't know, there is a legend associated with Greenbrier Restaurant in that there is a story that it is haunted by the ghost of the bride. I like to believe that maybe she hangs around b/c so many people do their receptions there and she likes to be a part of the wedding she never had. So my brother went of ghost hunting. Mom & her husband were fixing up the cake...Mom was decorating it and simultaneously freaking out about it lol. Kiowa made a stop by the bar. Not even married yet and I had drove him to drinking. I continued with fixing up the tables, and was still pissed about my centerpieces not being here. I was actually pissed at myself, b/c his mom is notoriously late EVERYWHERE so it was really my fault that I didn't have them b/c I knew she would be late.
Kiowa's mom then made it in and started ringing our cell. It seemed within a 10 minute time frame everybody started asking me 8 billion questions, most of which I didn't have the answer to or quite frankly I just didn't care about the specifics of the questions. I was seconds away from screaming my lungs out when people finally just left me alone. I was just tired and wanted to get all this over with. At that point I had reached the "oh my god, let's just get this over with NOW" point. And mom kept telling me to relax and enjoy it, otherwise I was going to miss everything. Oh I was taking it all in, but I just wanted it to be over at that point lol
Finally about 1 1/2 hours later we had everything done that could be done at that point. Mom was supposed to go back over tomorrow and finish before the wedding. We left the restaurant, once again getting lost on our way back to the main road.
Pics from that night in next post.

So mom was supposed to come back and finish up everything the next day before the wedding, however the hostess made no promise that the owner would be there but told her to check anyways. If not we would have to finish up when we got there.
I needed to get the centerpiece stuff to my mom. Kiowa's mom was in town now. We tried desperately to find her hotel and just were not finding it. Everybody was getting kind of pissed so we gave up and figured we would figure something out in the morning. I gave my mom my gel crystals for my centerpieces and she said she could soak them overnight.
So on our way back to the cabin, we saw the sign to Kiowa's mom's hotel! We had missed it b/c unlike the other tons of hotels, it was disguised as a billboard and we weren't even looking at billboards.
So we found her, got our stuff, and then had to go back to drop it off at my mom's hotel. At that point you didn't even want to know Kiowa & I :lol:We were so tired and had had enough.
We got back to our cabin at last! Kiowa relaxed on the couch and had some beers.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd29b3127cce824108046ffa00000016108Iatm7Fo4aA
I hopped in the jacuzzi for a soak. Then got out, put on lotion and did my nails, which turned out to be pointless b/c I wore gloves, but the whole ritual was really relaxing to me nonetheless.

I did the same to my toes, but my feet aren't pretty so I want disgust you with pictures
I had a beer or two myself and headed off to bed. Or at least tried to. I had a hard time sleeping for a while so I wrote in my journal for a bit. I think it was going on 4 am before I finally fell completely asleep!
It was hard to believe that when I woke up, by the end of the day I would be a married woman.
Oh yeah...you know what is next...the actual WEDDING DAY!!

The Wedding Day!!!!!!! :jump4joy: :jump4joy::jump4joy:
I woke up briefly at around 7:30 am, saw what time it was and forced myself to go back to sleep for at least a half hour. Before I fell back asleep I saw a few soft snowflakes (!!!!) floating down from the sky. It didn't register with me then. I went back to sleep and woke up to the alarm a 1/2 hour later. I was still *so* tired so I dosed back off again until 8:30 am when I was awakened to the phone. It was my mom calling.
My eyes popped open and immediately I felt myself go a little bit into stress mode. Mostly because I had no idea where the salon was and I would be damned before I drove down the mountain myself and into Gatlinburg to find it.
I was kind of in a crappy mood until I got in the shower and got woke up. My mom decided they would come get me and meet my sister at the first stoplight in Gatlinburg and we would all go find the salon. So I dried my hair and got dressed. I had almost forgot to bring a button up shirt for that day but thankfully Kiowa's mom delivered one to me!
By the time they arrived to pick me up at the cabin there was some serious freak snowfall going on. Big huge flakes floating down softly from the sky. In retrospect, it was really pretty. But I was too focused on everything else to really notice. Now I wish I would have gotten a pic of it. But yeah when I say freak snowfall, I mean freak snowfall. There was no snow/precipitation called for that day. Strange!
I definitely wasn't myself the beginning of the day. My mom sensed that and kept telling me once again to relax. I was so sick of her saying that by this point that I wanted to scream  I really didn't think I was freaking out too bad...but I was just being really quiet. And maybe a bit snippy
We met my sister and BIL at the gas station and went to find the salon. We were following them at first and they drove through Gatlinburg twice and we weren't finding it. Trying to find my salon was making everybody pissed. I was pissed b/c I thought we were going to be late. I guess my BIL was getting pissed that he couldn't find it. My sister was mad b/c her husband was freaking out about not finding it. And my mom's husband started getting mad b/c they weren't finding it. And my mom started getting mad because my sister wouldn't pull over and ask for directions. LOL oh man. What a mess.
Finally my mom got them to pull over and called the salon since I had given my sister the map with the directions and the phone number. We finally found the dang place and went in while the guys waited in the car. I think they were tired of all us women lol
Liz, the stylist, gave me some books to look for a style. I never did get my inspiration pics printed off and I had also forgot to email them to her. So I eventually found a couple combos of styles I liked. I discovered that I had forgotten to bring my tiara and veil! ARRRGH. So I would have to place them later myself.
As I was getting my hair done my mom and sister sat and talked. My sister also looked for styles for her hair. My mom took it upon herself to tell some embarassing stories while we were in there. Ack, there were a few times I wanted to bury my head but at the same time it was kind of funny. I just know that stylist was thinking "what the hell is wrong with these people" lol
I joined in on the conversations from time to time, but when I was getting my hair done I was really relaxed actually & in a sort of bridal zen mode. It was one of the few moments of the day I actually felt quiet inside.
Liz got done with my hair and asked me if I liked it. I immediately loved the back but was a little unsure about the front at first, just b/c it was a way that I had never wore my hair before. But everybody loved it and I liked it too, it was just different for me. It was strange because it was almost like I didn't even recognize myself like that, but in a good way.
My sister had found a really pretty hairstyle and got her hair done next. When she was done I paid for both of us and we headed back out. Unfortunately I forgot to get any pics of us getting our hair done.
Mom was supposed to go back to the restaurant to finish up there and Jess & Terry headed back to their hotel. I had forgot to bring her dress when that morning so we would have to drop it off to her before heading to the chapel.

Mom dropped me back off at the cabin. By that time the freak snowfall had stopped completely and was more or less melted. The clouds were starting to clear and the sun was starting to peak out. It was also warming up slightly.
I went to the bathroom to check out my hair. It was pretty sweet.

Except for that little strand in the front that kept falling. Stupid strand, hehe.
I was so antsy & had no idea what to do to occupy my time as we waited to go get married. I did a lot of pacing. Then Kiowa convinced me to try to eat something. I finally got a bit of mac & cheese down.
I was really tired from not getting much sleep the night before. I wanted a nap so bad. I tried resting sitting up on the couch but couldn't get any rest. If I could have devised a plan to nap without screwing up my hair I would have done it in a heartbeat. One of my few regrets, not getting enough sleep the night before!
I decided to go ahead and do my makeup. I love doing makeup so to do my own on my wedding day was dang near a form of meditation. It was great to just zone out and concentrate on something other than what was about to happen.
So my makeup I did

I put on my jewelry as well. I had a freak out when I thought I had lost an earring. Luckily nobody was around to see that LOL. But thankfully I found it just tangled up in another piece of jewelry.
Everything felt so surreal. All made up, I kept looking in the mirror thinking how I barely recognized myself. I really had transformed into this glowing, happy (but nervous!) bride.
I chilled on the couch for a while waiting for the time to pass.
All of a sudden it seemed, I looked at the clock and it was 20 after 1 !!! We had to get around and get to leaving! I still had to drop my sister's dress off to her and we had to be at the chapel in nearly an hour.
Kiowa showered, shaved, and got dressed, bringing his suit with him to get dressed in wedding gear at the chapel. I finished loading up the car with all the wedding stuff and arranged to meet my sister outside her hotel to drop off her dress.
Finally it came time to leave and back down the mountain we went. When we came back up it we would be husband & wife!!!

We arrived at my sister's hotel and she came down to meet us. She told Kiowa that this was his last chance to run lol If he was smart he would have listened *wink*
All that was now taken care of and the only place left to go was to the chapel to go get married! Wow.
I remember Kiowa asking if I was still nervous. Um. Yeah. But I was actually getting quite a bit calmer. After we dropped my sister's dress off and I knew that we were officially done chasing down people I felt *so* much better.
Kiowa told me that he was nervous but at that point he really didn't come across that way to me. Boy, would that change!
We're going to the chapel and.........

We actually ended up arriving at the chapel 15 minutes early. We must have arrived around the same time as the coordinator because she was getting out of her vehicle and waving us in. When we got in the entrance I remember her asking us something along the lines of if we were ready to get married. I remember answering something along the lines of "just about".
The inside of the chapel was gorgeous! It left my speechless. Everything the website pics had showed and more. I took a few pictures and looked around and then started bringing in my wedding stuff while Kiowa went into the Groom’s room and started getting dress while I was waiting on family to arrive and my mom & sister to help me get dressed.

Mom & Jess arrived and it was time to get dressed!
I stripped down to bra and panties...left the bra on until the dress was over my head safely, didn't want to go flashing everybody yoh know lol. Put on the hoop skirt, all the fun stuff. They worked the dress over my head so as to not mess up my hair, and not like it would go on over the hoop skirt anyways.
Jess then worked on lacing up the back of the dress. For some reason this baffled them lol They had a little trouble and she didn't end up getting it tied as tight as it should have been but it was fine in the end.
(Please ignore the expression on my face lol)
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c3d2431200000015108Iatm7Fo4aA
While trying to explain to Jess what to do with the excess lacing in the back, I apparently said something that Jess & Mom and their pervy minds thought was hilarious.
The lacing went all the way down to my butt & they obviously got quite a kick out of me trying to explain to Jess that you tied the lacing in a knot and stuck it in the little whole by my butt.
.................................................. ...
Yeah. :heee: At any rate, it was a good laugh had by all.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c3d0431000000015108Iatm7Fo4aA
Then Jess helped me put on my shoes and garter since it was impossible for me to bend over in my dress.
Not a great pic but my shoes had my something blue with my new initials in blue crystals on the bottom
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd29b3127cce824122a96f4200000026108Iatm7Fo4aA
We got another good laugh out of this b/c I told Mom & Jess the story of how when I was doing this to the shoes, Kiowa had laughed at me and asked me if I was labeling them right & left. :laugh3: I told him not to be silly, the R would have been on the left foot and that wouldn't have made any sense anyways lol
Kiowa's mom had given me a bracelet her dad made and a pin of her mom's for my old/borrowed stuff. I put the pin on my garter and the bracelet in my person. Unfortunate sad story about the pin... I lost it somewhere that day. I still feel awful! But there wasn't anything I could do.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd29b3127cce824122956f7e00000026108Iatm7Fo4aA
I put on my gloves. I was iffy about rather or not to wear them but when I got them on, Mom & Jess insisted that I keep them on.
Then we had to get the veil in my hair. That was hard b/c my hair was styled so tight and had so much hairspray in it. They eventually got it jammed down in there, much to the dismay of my scalp. We then quickly took some candid pics (which I have to find out if anybody has!)
As soon as I was finished getting dress the photographer wanted to come in there and start taking pics.
I said this in my journal already...but I wasn't 100% happy with how our "pro" pics turned out. Downfall of going with a chapel...you take what they provide. I was mostly pissed about all the poses, but whatever, I'm over it now... I still like my pics for the most part and feel blessed to have any at all.
I scanned those in obviously. They all scanned in much darker for the most part than they originally were. Dunno why except my scanner could possibly suck.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c795c26700000015108Iatm7Fo4aA
I cropped this one b/c this one I do hate it lots lol but figure I will share anyways since I didn't get many pics in the bridal suite
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd30b3127cce8274e2e19a2d00000016108Iatm7Fo4aA
Pssssst....everybody who saw me that day complimented me on my dress over and over. They loved it. Yay. Hehe. I was so glad about that b/c we all know my dress drama.
So after some cheesy posed photography I was informed that the minister would be coming in to talk with me about the ceremony and how everything would go.
Oh, I almost forgot! LOL Speaking of cheesy posed photography... Kiowa got some too! My mom said this is when he really started getting nervous

So as we know by now, my dad didn't show. My mom had previously mentioned having my brother walk me down the aisle and that he had mentioned it.. At first I thought I would just walk by myself. It has symbolism for me to walk by myself but the nerves were starting to get to me and and at that point I didn't know if I could do it by myself. I was afraid I would be shaking too bad or something.
I decided to give my brother, Daniel, the honor of walking me down the aisle. I am glad that I did. My brother is a strange dude lol, but he has been a great friend to me.
The minister came in with me, my sister, and brother and discussed how the ceremony would proceed with us. I tried to concentrate on what he was saying but it was too hard! My mind kept flittering around with all the thoughts racing through my head. I knew in a matter of minutes I would be walking down the aisle.
I told Daniel that when the minister asked "Who give this woman" to say "Our family". It was broad enough to make me feel good, like one person didn't get the honor b/c I didn't want one person having all that honor. Strange maybe, but that is how I felt. I didn't explain it to anybody at the time.
The minister left. Jess noticed that the minister had been pronouncing Kiowa's name wrong. Well I noticed too, but she brought it up for somebody to say something to him.
The minister was pronouncing it "Key-Oh-Uh" which is a common mispronunciation. I don't know why, since his name is pronounced pretty much exactly how it is spelled "Kye-Oh-Wa". So Jess had Terry take care of it. At least I think...I can't recall if he pronounced it correctly during the ceremony *L*. I assume he did since he was corrected on it.
It was then time to go get married!!!

My sister was called out and I heard her processional music start. The aisle was so much shorter than I expected, so not a lot of my music got to play! Despite the fact that I had edited it to be shorter.
I had chosen Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata for her to walk to. I was worried that maybe it was less upbeat than what I was going for and my previous memory of the song was doing a rather depressing spoken word over it once upon a time, but I have always loved that piece of music so I went with it anyways. I'm glad I did b/c I think it was beautiful!
They called me out and got me situated holding onto my brother's arm.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c79fc26d00000015108Iatm7Fo4aA
They had shut the main doors to the chapel as we got ready to go. My brother laughed and told me that now he was feeling nervous. The MaOH processional music stopped and I knew it was my time.
I heard: "Let me tell you why I love him" which is the beginning of the song I choose to walk down the aisle to which was India Arie's "The Truth". The music had started aand the door swung open.
I think this is the picture. I looked at the photographer to motion us to walk and she must have snapped it just then. I look like I'm thinking about crying so I assume this is it hehe
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c79c435e00000016108Iatm7Fo4aA
That door swinging open, is a moment I will never forget. I'm sitting here getting :sappy: just thinking about it again. It was one of those mometns that you wish could last forever....you wish that time would stop. I think maybe it even did for just a second. It was one of those moments that you realize that life is way too short and thse moments are everything they make them out to be....
To see our guests, however few deemed it important enough to show up... and knowing the ones that really did want to be there but couldn't were there in spirit, to see them all gazing at me looking at me with love in their hearts and looking like that this too was also one of the happiest moments of their lives brought me so much joy.
And to see Kiowa at the end of that aisle and to know I was going to him, that he was my destination. This would be last time I would be "fiancee". It overjoyed me to know that our union was what awaited me at the end of that aisle.
We began walking. My brother was walking too fast because he was nervous. I would have tip toed down that aisle if I could hehe. I nudged him once and whispered for him to slow down. But other than that, it was complete tunnel vision. I saw no one but my groom.
I had a brief incident where I thought I was going to start crying. I started listening to the lyrics of my song and they were exactly what I was feeling. I had to stop or I would have lost it.
As we got to the front of the chapel I turned and smiled at my mom. I felt really nervous again all of a sudden so seeing her smiling at me calmed me down a little. Then the music faded and I remember being slightly irked for moment that they didn't let my whole song play.
The minister welcomed everyone and said the usual opening lines and asked who gives this woman to this man. My brother responded with "Our family" as I had requested. It was cute because you could tell that he had taken his job of walking me down the aisle very seriously.
He set down and Kiowa & I joined hands and the minister began speaking.
Up next, the ceremony!

*whimpers* I wish this pic wouldn't have scanned in so dark b/c it is one of my faves*
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c79a435800000016108Iatm7Fo4aA
The minister began speaking about marriage. The entire time I could not stop smiling. My cheeks were even starting to hurt. Not a big toothy grin or antyhing, but just a constant smile. My mind would go from listening to what the minister was saying to a brief OMG! moment, to "cheeeyeaaah, I'm getting married"
I was really impressed with the ceremony. We had NO idea prior as to how it would go and what would be said. But the things that were said is exactly how I view marriage and relationships. The minister spoke about how relationships can never be 50/50, you give and take and to make a relationship work you will hopefully give back as much as you take. Ther was also other stuff, but like I said, I was in and out of it with my thoughts.
It felt like the minister talked forever, but it was probably only a little over 5 minutes. Then a prayer was said.
I remember a few times during the ceremony when the minister was talking I felt like I could pass out. Then I came to realize that I was holding my breath w/o realizing it. Once I realized I was doing that, I was much better hehe.
After the prayer was the ring ceremony. This was the first time I had really got to face Kiowa except of course that brief moment of walking down the aisle. When I turned to face him he was white as a ghost! He looked awful  He was so nervous. He admitted later how nervous he was, as if his face didn't give it away hehe
We exchanged rings and said our vows. They were traditional vows. I was surprised how calm I was when saying the vows. I was surprised by the conviction in my voice. I think I wanted to shout the vows from the top of a mountain at that point. I was so proud to be saying them!
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd31b3127cce8274c79bc26900000015108Iatm7Fo4aA
After the rings & vows was the unity candle ceremony. We walted over the candle and the minister handed me my candle and we lit the flame together. I was scared I was going to be all shakey and stuff but I really wasn't. Our unity candle song began to play which was Musiq Soulchild's "Don't Change".
Kiowa was still looking like he was somewhere between crying and puking lol We held hands facing each other. He was nervous but I had never been calmer. I think I made him more nervous b/c I stood there staring at him and smiling the whole time. Yeah, I'm creepy like that lol
We held hands and I whispered to him. He couldn't seem to talk much back though. Despite looking nervous he did look happy though and looked like he was going to shed some tears of happiness.

Up next were pics. We went outside to take pics. I neglected to mention that the freak snow and thick layer of grey clouds made way for an insanely beautiful day. It was a bit chilly, but otherwise gorgeous.
There were some cheesy poses but I actually enjoyed taking the pics and didn't feel uncomfy at all. It was just kind of hard to take pics with the sun shining in your face.
We went back inside and took some more pics with family.
Then the guests were sent outside and we took a few more pics and finally we headed out where we were showered in birdseed. We waited for them to finish up our DVD and took some pics in the meantime. We ended up bustling my dress in the parking lot. *Heh* Actually, Terry, my BIL, did the bustling with the help of my sister. LOL, imagine that.
Lots'o'pics next post.

Everything got over much quicker than we thought it would. We had about 1 1/2 hour to kill before we were due to arrive at the reception.
We went back to our cabin. Kiowa had finally regained color to his face lol He told me that he had been so nervous the whole ceremony. He was happy though, but just a nervous groom!
We got back to the cabin and took some pics there.

I then took it upon myself to crack open a cold one :D Damn straight. Ini fact I had 2. An on a near empty stomach I was pretty damned relaxed when it was time for the reception. And it was just plain awesome to have that downtime between the ceremony & reception.

The Dinner Reception!
We all met in Gatlinburg & followed Mom to the restaurant b/c damned if any of us could find that place.
They had not been able to finish setting up that afternoon so we had to do some brief finishing up when we got there. No biggie.
It was really fun to walk in and have all the people who were downstairs ohhh & awwww.
I remember when we were walking in Kiowa's mom yelled at him b/c he was walking in front of me hehe. She told him not to walk in front of the bride. It was funny b/c she was oh'ing & aw'ing over me the whole day. When we were bustling up my dress she kept putting a jacket over my shoulders b/c she thought I was cold.
So we got in & finished setting things up real quick. My mom had to put the topper on my cake and we set up the centerpieces real quick while people were talking and taking turns helping out and taking pictures.
Mom didn't put enough water in the gel crystals for the centerpieces but in the end it was okay..the vases just weren't as full. I also forgot to mix my glitter in with it.
My mom forgot to put the filling in the cake but I didn't even notice until she told me a few days later. Didn't care at all.
We finished up all that, took pics, and we invited people to sign the signature cloth.
I decided I needed to pee which wasn't a good thing in that dress  Tiny stall, big dress, still a little bit tipsy lol. So my sister helped me by holding my dress and well...thank God there are no records of that on film anywhere. That was certainly interesting lol. We were crying from laughing so hard when it was all said & done.
After the bathroom incident we all set down and awaited our food. They brought us drinks & homemade bread that was so good. Then we were served the first course, soup or salad. Most of us had salad which was the best salad I have ever had.
Then came the main course, there were three options. Almost everybody had the Chicken Vera Cruz w/ the twice baked potato. The food was *so* good, best I have had in a long time.
Everybody ate, talked, & laughed.
Every once in a while I would have these strange moments where I would just zone out and think damn, this is it, this our day. I don't know. It was strange. Kind of like the world was spinning around me and I had just stopped.
After everybody had eaten and let the food settle a bit it was time for cake!
Mom did such a wonderful job on the cake. No, it didn't look exactly like the picture but it was good. I was proud of her. And I was proud of how my cake table turned out, so glowy & romantic. So were the centerpieces. And the whole place.
I must have been really excited to cut that cake b/c everybody kept telling me to hold on so they could take pics lol
So we took the mandatory cake pics nd cut it and fed each other a piece. Terry joked that Kiowa should smash it in my face. Kiowa's mom yelled at him and told him he better not hehe
So everybody had cake and things started winding down a bit.
The last event ws to open cards and gifts. My mom got us a beautiful set of frames that I can't wait to use for our wedding pics. Everybody else gave cash and we got cards w/ cash from various family & friends who couldn't make it.
After that our night was about over. We started packing up to leave. I started feeling a little bit sad that it was all about over, but was bursting with happiness at the same time.
As we left people blew bubbles and we took a few more pics.
Kiowa's mom was so happy we were married. It was so cute! She kept saying I should be a wedding planner because everything was so beautiful & she couldn't believe I did it all myself.
After we were back at our cabin I was sad to have to take off my dress, but Kiowa wasn't :giggle: My dress got so dirty though! I don't even know how. I guess from all the stuff it touched that day. Same with the gloves.
So yeah, the wedding night went pretty much as you would expect. Secksytimes!!! Wooo.
And that my friends, is the Wedding Day Story.
I shall continue the rest of our honeymoon story in the travel forum so if you wish to know what happened after the wedding it will be there in a few days with those pics.
I'm just going to post reception pics and then I'll open it up to you all :D

Oh my gosh. Everything was wonderful. We went to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg on our HM and now I miss it and want to go back after seeing your pictures. The traffic was crazy in Gatlinburg when we went up there...we were glad we took the trolley and walked everywhere. We went to the Ripleys Aquarium too...my favorite place we went! The mountains were just goregous! But after seeing your pictures, next time we go back, we are going to rent a cabin. Congrats!!!

Congratulations on such a beautiful day. The chapel and mountains outside make such amazing settings for your pictures. The way you described your feelings when the doors open made me cry :sappy:. Jess's dress looked so pretty on her. Your mom did a great job on the cake. Very nice that your brother walked you down the aisle and I like that you had him say "our family" gives you away.

Oh, Raychel. I don't know where to begin. Your wedding is perhaps one of the most intimate I've ever known. You were surrounded by the closest of family, in an amazing setting, and the emotion of the event was so powerful, it's making strangers thousands of miles away tear up with joy.
You were a stunning--no, enchanting bride--that positively glowed in every photo. Really, the photo of you and Kiowa at the altar--your favorite--is amazing. I think your reception decor was beautiful and perfect. What a fantastic wedding day story (one of my favorites this year).

Your narrative of your wedding day was fantastic. You looked amazing, the two of you together look like you were meant to be. The pictures of the area were goregous (I'm a sucker for picturesque mountains). The cake - beautiful, as were your decorations. The cabin - sigh - I want to live there. Awww thanks!
The whole fiasco with my dress was  1) I initially bought a dress about 2 years prior to the wedding. At the time though I thought we would be getting married sooner. A few months before the wedding I decided that I no longer liked the dress and just couldn't picture wearing it on my wedding day. 2) So I ordered a custom made dress from a China company on Ebay. All turned out well and I loved the dress 3) When taking the dress to my first fitting and to see about getting a bustle put on it I discovered I lost the lacing to the back of the dress. I think it got thrown away. I had a complete freak out lol but thankfully the company I ordered it from were great and sent me another lacing.
After all that I ended up with an amazing dress that I loved that was completely worth all the drama ;)
I told my mom about your girls complimenting the cake. I think it made her happy :) Especially after all the stressing she did about it.
I still haven't gotten the pics from my sister! Grrrrrrrr

Well FINALLY I have started getting some pics from my sister. I don't know why they are so small. It is the only way she could get them to me. We have to figure out why the quality is coming up so poor but I'm just glad to see them. Some of this are really poor cuz I didn't a quick brightening in photoshop b/c they were so dark. I'll fix them better someday.

Love all the new pictures and is it not great to be able to "go back" to the day just by seeing the pictures! Had to laugh at Kiowa's "hand pumping" when opening the gifts, we were watching our non-edited wedding video and I am caught rubbing my hands together while Tim was opening the cards! :laugh3: Bring on the money!!
