I'm working on these this week. Can anyone post some samples?

Ours went something like this:
Angela Marie M*&^%$#(&^ and Thomas Patrick G*&^%#@ are engaged.
Ms. Last name is the daughter of Ms. Mom of Anytown and Mr. Dad of Anytown. She is a graduate of Any High School, City, State, and is attending any school (as I was still in school at the time).
The second part for FH went the same way.
Mine was automatically done. I just had to put in all the information.
Jaci M* and Christopher K* announce their engagement.
Parents are Holly M*, (town she lives in); Timothy M*, (town he lives in); and Marlowe and Janelle K*, (town they live in).
Jaci graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead and is employed by (Employer), (location of employer).
Christopher graduated from Northwest Technical College, Moorhead, and is employed by (Employer), (location of employer).
A Sept. 23 wedding is planned at Trollwood Culture and Arts Park, (location of park).
Hope that helps!

Those both are very helpful, thank you. Kind of what I was thinking but I couldn't find any listed in my local paper so was just hoping for a few examples before I get to stressed about the wording. :)

There are some samples on this (http://www.bwedd.com/CEBride/CEBNewsletter_60.asp) page - hope they help! They seem fairly similar to what everyone else has posted :)

one of the newspapers had us fill out a form and they wrote it, the others, I just wrote simliarly to what that newspaper had written, and they went something like this:
Noelle **** ***** & Jeffrey ****** ******* are pleased to announce their engagement. She is the daughter of ***** and **** & **** **** of hometown and he is the son of **** and ***** ***** of his hometown.
Noelle graduated from hometown high school in 1999. She graduated from name of college in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently employed at ***** School District as a teacher.
(His paragraph was the same as mine but with his info).
Their wedding is going to be on July 16, 2005 at Our Church in Hometown with a reception to follow at the community building. Friends and Family are invited.
Hope this helps! :)

This is what I've come up with, what do you think? I will start by saying we are hosting the wedding ourselves, so we make the engagment announcement right? Also Chris's parents are legally seperated (for like over 20 years now) that is why I listed them the way I did. Does that part look okay? Please feel free to offer any comments. I'd rather hear how bad it is from you girls then everyone in our home towns. Oh that is the other thing, this is going into both our hometown papers.
Lisa Michelle *** and Chris Alan *** of *** North Carolina are pleased to announce their engagement. She is the daughter of Robert and Sonya *** of ***, Iowa. He is the son of Gale *** and John *** both of ***, New York.
Lisa graduated from *** High School in 1985. She is currently a homemaker.
Chris graduated from *** High School in 1983. He is currently a medically retired Navy Seabee.
Their wedding is going to be on May 5, 2007 at the Silver Coast Winery in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina with a reception to follow.

Lisa, I think that that is perfectly fine. I like yours as is, and you can leave the dates of HS grad if you want, but those I've seen with engagements from couples our age just put the high school or not at all.

Our newspaper had us just fill out a form, but it went pretty much like OctoberBride's.

Thanks everyone. Cindy, I know for my hometown paper everyone, no matter when put in graduation years. But I'll check with his mom for his hometown.
I was hoping it would be as easy as filling out a form but neither of our papers had one. Nobody likes to make my life easy :sniff:

And now today, Lisa. I stand corrected. I just read our weekly local paper. A guy that is 2 years older than me is getting married. He put his graduation year in and so did she.
I guess its personal preference. That way people would know exactly if it was you or not. :)

Cindy, given there was one family with my last name in the history of my school I'm sure everyone will know. If we had gone to college and I had more information about us to put in I'd leave it out. But we are both boring. I've debated just leaving it out all together. Everyone also knows Chris in his home town because he use to own a bar ... everyone knows the bar owners in a small town.:lol2: I have to decide fast because I'm about to email it to the Iowa paper.

Stacie, yours cute! And love the picture with it.
I also missed the deadline, it was yesterday not today. So I have another whole week to think about it. So keep suggestions coming.
