gift for reader?

I was out shopping today and just happened upon this ceramic wall plaque. I got it thinking it would be a really nice gift for our reader (it is the scripture we are having read at our wedding). The reader is either going to be Chris's twenty year old daughter or one of my sisters. All of them are religous so will know the scripture well. But even if they were not, the plaque says nothing about it being from a Bible scripture. Chris thinks I'm crazy to think they would want it as a gift. So now I'm second guessing giving it to them.

What do you think? Please give an honest answer as if you were the reader at the wedding. You will not hurt my feelings with what ever you think, for or against giving it. Because if you all think it is a bad idea to give it, I'll just keep it for myself :kimgrill:

I think you should give it, I mean, that scripture is one of the most well-known (and one of my fav's too) verses. Maybe you could also give another little gift along with it?

I do have these bags for all of the girls who will be helping, with the reading, gifts, guest book and what ever other little jobs there ends up being. I just also want to get something personalized for everyone too.

I plan on getting something for everyone that partakes in the ceremony with us. I think it's a really sweet and pretty plaque!

Well, there we have it then, Chris is the crazy one not me :) I also plan on putting our names and wedding date on the back of it with a short thank you for being our reader.

we usually just do corsages and/or bout for readers, but if you want to give that lovely gift I think tha would be really sweet of you.

Since the reader will either be Chris's daugher or one of our sisters they would be wearing a corsage anyway. So I do want to do something a little more special for them then that. (note to self, make sure enough corsages have been ordered!)

I personally would love the wall plaque, but that is because it would look nice in my apartment. If my place was done in blues and greens or something, then I wouldn't have anywhere to put it.

That's the only downside I can think of - it's hard to buy homr decor things for other people. But it's a beautiful plaque!

That is a good point Kellie. Now I know how I'll pick our reader, who evers house the plaque will match :)
