View Full Version : Another new member
Hi, I'm new. I really like the logo font; however, is there some way of choosing a skin other than pink and green?
Sorry, at this time, we only have this skin. The site is only 4 days old. Stick around, maybe in the future :)

Welcome to MustLoveWeddings, Uma! :wavey:
Thanks, I was just wondering. Would you happen to know what font it is?
I don't, sorry! But I bet one of our members does. Give them time and some one will come up with a name. :)

This has to be one of the more unusual introductions I have ever seen. Uma, are you looking for some font for a particular reason? The reason I ask is that we might be able to hook you up with a member who has skill in that area.
Well, I figured that since as Kari said, the site is so new, someone around might remember the font. I'm always on the lookout. It has very nice weights and it's been solidly streamlined; the connections between letters could have been worked on, but it's still pleasant.
I'm using a mix of handwritten fonts to print my guests' names on the envelopes (they can't be just one font because when there's a repeated letter and the eye finds two exact strokes, it shows it's not real; like in the "d" of wedding). Then, after printing them in light ink I'm running over the strokes with a nice pen, and voilą, inexpensive, hassle-free calligraphy.

I'm sure I can get the person who designed the logo to answer your question. I will pass it on to her.
Welcome. :)

Uma, I think you might have just become MLW's font expert! Do you mind if we call on you for help in the future?

The font is called Blackjack. :) I don't recall where I got it, but it was a free download at one of the many free font sites out there.
voilą, inexpensive, hassle-free calligraphy.
uhhh, hassle free?
:shuffle:
I wrote everything in my regular handwriting with my regular pen

Thanks, MissAbi. I was thinking 1001fonts.com, but I couldn't find it there. :)

Oh, and I have no plans to make a new skin at this time - maybe after we've been up for a while. :) Too busy making other adjustments to this place right now! :heee:
Thanks!
And I meant that you'll get the look of professional calligraphy without much trouble. If you already know calligraphy or if you don't mind if your invitations are handwritten normally, then yes, there's no need. I simply handwrote the envelopes with golden raised paint for my first wedding, but the design of the new invitations requires something different.
Still, most of the time you need to at least measure and trace a line on the envelope to write straight (well, at least I do), and then erase it carefully... It's rather time consuming as well.
Please post pics when you are done! I would love to see it! :)
I should start with them, now that you mention it; I was planning on mailing them at the end of this month.
These are the two main fonts I'm using; mostly because they seem very close to a controlled handriwiting to me, and they match:

This is just to write guests' names on the envelopes, of course.
