Does anyone else wear the Bare Minerals line? My womderful mom bought me the starter set for Christmas, but since then my skin has been really bad and I'm hoping the two are unrelated! Just wondered if anyone had good or bad experiences with it-- I really like the makeup and don't want to give it up! http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l50/kdhart226/web%20stuff/smileys/Angery_8.gif

I JUST bought the starter kit yesterday! My mom and another friend have been using it for awhile and they haven't had any problems. I love it! I don't think I will ever go back to regular makeup.

Sorry you are having problems!! :( Do you use all three things on your face?

I've used it for quite a while and have never had any problems with it.

I quit using the "Skin Rever-upper" or whatever it's called, and since then I'm not getting the tiny breakouts all over, but I'm still getting bigger ones. It may very well just be me though. I'm not really sure which is worse! :mope:

I've never used the Skin Rever-Upper, but I use the foundation, bisque (concealer), and all different kinds of colors. I have terrible skin, so much so that I had to go on Accutane for it and I continued to use the make-up throughout taking the medication. I use it everyday now and I love it. I hope the two are unrelated for you, because I love the product as you can tell!

I would maybe try to not use the lotion for a couple days and strictly the makeup to see if it is the lotion that is causing it.

I've used it for a year and a half now. I still get the breakouts I normally got before using it but love it. Some days when my face is really dry it's a little itchy but then I start over after I put on some moisturizer (just plain ol' Oil of olay). It made my skin look flawless but very natural for the wedding and looked great in pictures. I have the foundation, mineral veil, all over face color I use as blush and some eye shadows.

I love bare minerals!! I've never had any problems with it and if anything, it's much lighter for your pores than most other make ups.

I hope the two are unrelated!

Thanks girls! I'm going to keep using it and start drinking more water-- my steady Dr. Pepper and iced tea intake can't be helping my skin any. I guess I should look on the bright side: The last time my skin was this bad was during infertility treatments, so maybe my system has the right hormones in it on its own this time! Here's hoping, anyway. :crossfing:

I love it but found that with my dry winter skin it really doesn't apply and finish well... even when using a moisturizer.
Now that my skin is less dry and flaky it looks much better.
I haven't noticed more breakouts than normal.

I can't wear the stuff in the summer! It just slides right off! But I have super oily skin (as you well know Katita, since you're my sis) and most makeup just slides off anyway! But it didn't break me out anymore than usual. In fact, I think my skin was better! But I would stop using that lotion. It made me and Aunt Donna break out bad. Some people have problems with the finishing powder. That may be what is causing the problemo!

I actually had a lot of problems with it. My skin turned super duper dry and I actually had breakouts even worse. It worked so well for about a month, but I guess my skin was just too sensative to continue using it. It's a shame because I have about $200 worth of it sitting in my make up bag under my sink that I can't use!

I was breaking out from the liquid foundation I used to use so I switched to Bare Minerals and it made my skin better. Obviously everyone's skin is different though.

A lot of ladies are allergic to the bismuth that Bare Minerals uses as a filler. I still use some BE products, but I have switched largely to products from smaller mineral companies that don't use bismuth. Some I've used are www.meowcosmetics.com, www.lumierecosmetics.com and www.pureluxecosmetics.com I like supporting smaller companies the prices are much better.

i havent used it but a friend of mine got that powder cover up and she said that she cant tell the difference from when she is wearing it and when she isnt (basically it doesnt work). . . but it might also just her being fussy

I think I need to switch the way I am putting this on...for some of my redder blemishes I have been using a liquid foundation and then putting bare minerals on...and I have broken out this past week...Hopefully if I stop using both and just use one or the other it will get better...

I just bought it last night. So hopefully it will work for me. I love how light it feels on my skin. And i did the get mist to spray on after as with most makeup my sking feels very dry. And it looks so natural!! Love it so far, but will see when I actually wear it for a bit haha.
