The Start of a New Chapter: Jillian & Steve, 3/24/07

Saturday, March 10th. 2 weeks before the wedding: SIL gives birth to her son. 8lbs 7oz 21inches. :itsaboy:

Here’s the back story: In 2005 my BM Shana and her husband started TTC, by early 2006 she hadn’t yet conceived and I became convinced she would end up getting pregnant 9 months before my wedding. I had convinced her that if she wasn’t pregnant by the summer she should a break until October. About two months later she found out she was pregnant (conceived on my birthday, how about that) and gave birth on November 15th. :itsaboy:

Anyway so I had thought I was in the clear about anyone getting pregnant for the wedding. Boy was I wrong. One August night Steve asks me if I’m keeping a secret from him. I’m confused. He says about his sister (some times his sister and I have secrets so I could have a secret) and I scan my brain, nope. So he tells me she’s pregnant :wow: and she’s due March 24th. :hissyfit: It was another 2 weeks before she told me and clarified that she was due March 17th and still wanted to be in the wedding, I was starting to get worried and she was trying everything except for drinking canola oil to help start the process. Anyway he was born March 10th and his mommy was stuck with a huge dress incase she was still pregnant.

Saturday, March 17th. 1 week before the wedding: Late night St. Patrick’s Day and after a few too many green Long Islands :drunk: I decided to invite another couple to the wedding. It’s not like we didn’t know them. They are regulars at Applebee’s too and we’ve been to his house for a couple of parties. But for the rest of the week I could not remember doing this.

Sunday, March 18th. 6 days before the wedding: I’m at Shana’s baby’s christening party when I realized I missed a call from my dad. The food isn’t out yet so I decide to check my voice mail. It’s not good news. Nope not at all. My uncle Lenny had a heart attack that morning. While he was doing well, the doctors found a lot of blockage in his arteries. And when I say a lot I mean 100%. So there was 0% chance that he’d be at the wedding. He needed a bypass. This meant that neither of my uncles on my father’s side would be there. We’ve gotten used to the fact that my other uncle doesn’t come to anything so I was really upset my uncle Lenny couldn’t make it. Not only am I his favorite niece, I’m his only niece too!

Tuesday, March 20th. 4 days before the wedding: My last day at work! (aka the longest day EVER) And my MOH was suppose to be arriving about 5:30pm in Providence. She was stuck in Newark. For the love of God Newark! That’s like leaving a giant piece of chocolate cake in an unbreakable glass box. So close but I cannot touch. The torture!! The airline offered to fly her into Boston on the 6:30pm flight but she declined because they had a rental in Providence. I guess calling one of us who were dying to see her for a ride was somehow out of the question. I would have been more than happy to drive to Boston pick her up and bring her to Warwick to pick up a rental.

Wednesday, March 21st. 3 days before the wedding: MOH finally arrives at 2 am in the morning but she doesn’t call until about noon. I was at MIL’s house with SIL and we were already running late for my final meeting for the venue, but I decided to invite MOH and her boyfriend along who haven’t even showered yet. By the time I got to the venue I was 45 minutes late. But I did have my posse of 4 with me so I looked cool and important.

After that I dropped off SIL at MIL’s house and went to talk to Giddoo (his grandfather). Giddoo was very excited for the wedding and had his suit hanging out in his special spot and he told me 100 times how lucky Steve is and how beautiful I am. Stuff I already knew but it’s still nice to hear. :kimgrill:

Then I went tanning and ran a few more errands before heading home. That night Steve and I went to Jenn (BM) and Nate’s (boyfriend) with Nancy (MOH) and Chris (boyfriend).

Thursday, March 22nd. 2 days before the wedding: Breakfast with the girls and guys. Jenn, Nate, Nancy, Chris, Shana, Dallas (her baby), Steve, and I went out to breakfast at one of the breakfast places we (the girls) grew up at. I made a huge pig of myself and so did everyone else. After breakfast we all went our separate ways. I had to find an outfit for that night since it was my bachelorette party! Shana and Jenn went for supplies. Nancy and Chris went “shopping.” I found out later that night where they really went.

And here’s the story: Nancy, as some of you know, lives in the south pacific – Kwaj of the Marshall Islands. Basically: East Bum eff. When I ordered dresses I asked her what size. She went back and forth between 8 and 10 before deciding on 8. Her dress hung in Shana’s closet until the day before when it was dropped off to Nancy at her mom’s house. Nancy tried it on after we visited the venue. It fitted great but it was not zippering around her boobs. She ran to her mom’s neighbor to see if they could alter it but there wasn’t anything to do but get a size 10. She called every David’s Bridal in a 50 mile radius to find a size 10 in plum. Attleboro had it which is the second closest. After breakfast they headed there to pick it up. I was completely unaware of this drama until later on when the correct size was in her possession. Thank God I went to David’s!

Next up my bachelorette party! Got to upload pictures!

Night of Thursday, March 22nd. PARTY!!!!!!!

I don’t know what time Shana came to get me, but I do know I wasn’t quite ready yet. Yes, running late was my thing of the week. We were meeting at her mom’s house so she could watch Dallas since Shana’s husband wasn’t out of work yet. So we were at her mom’s house for about 30 minutes. She was cooking supper and I hadn’t eaten since breakfast… it smelled so GOOD. I wanted to stay for supper but once the drinks were mixed we were headed out. So because now I’m freakishly hungry I had Shana pull over to get something to eat. I got a double cheeseburger.

We’re heading to Foxwoods and this is when I found out about Nancy’s dress drama. Everyone else knew already and found it funny. I did too since Nancy got lost going to Attleboro when she was actually on the road that takes you into Attleboro during breakfast. We chatted some more and drank our punch for the rest of the way there. First stop: the bathroom.

Next stop the Hard Rock Café. After 90 minutes I was hungry again. There’s really nothing to say here but the food was so very good.

Then I got pulled out of my seat and our waiter announced I was getting married on Saturday. He had everyone yell: DON’T DO IT!! It was fun and I got ice cream!

Friday, March 23rd. 1 day before the wedding: I like to call this the Steve and Jill run around day. I don’t remember everything but I do remember feeling very exhausted. We still hadn’t gotten the guys their gifts. It was the last chance to do so and we went to Things Remembered for flasks. Yeah I just made that sound so incredibly easy, but it wasn’t. First we were getting them all flasks. Then Steve thought he should get his brother (the BM) something else. I suggested about everything else they had, but he wasn’t sure. Then he didn’t think Jay (GM) should get a flask because he already had one. Again I suggested a million things. All of a sudden he decides to get everyone flasks. I wanted to punch him. While he was ordering them I ran up the mall to pick up his tux. I had to get my nails done so I dropped him off at his parents where he got to take a nap. Being a groom is hard work. :sarcasm:

At 2:30pm we went to pick up the now engraved flasks. Great. I still haven’t showered and rehearsal was at 4:00pm. Presents also not wrapped. They didn’t get wrapped either. By the time Jay got to our house and I was dressed it was about 3:45pm. Yes you guessed it! Late again. When we were 15 minutes away my friend Kristin calls me. She’s at the venue. She nanny’s for a couple in Newport and decided to take the kids on a field trip. She said she’d wait for me, but when I got there I invited her in.

Rehearsal went by quickly. A blur really. We were missing my brothers and Sarah. Luckily I am so wicked smart and had Chris and Nate stand in for my brothers and Kristin said in for her cousin Sarah. Well it worked out for the night.

I was so ready to eat. I don’t remember eating that day at all. My nerves were also at an all time high. By the time we got to the restaurant I was ready for bed though I hadn’t packed for my dad’s yet. Sarah showed up with her boyfriend even though she absolutely couldn’t make rehearsal. When I gave in and said she could come to dinner I had only meant her, not him. But whatever.

We ate (I should add I hardly ate), we drank, we exchanged gifts, and all that fun stuff. I just wanted to go to bed. I telepathically told my friends and they started to leave. I waited a little bit longer to tell Steve I just had to go home. He didn’t want to leave. But Jay did!! So I drove Jay back to my house and started packing for my dad’s. Got all my stuff together and went to daddy-o’s. Jenn, Sarah, Nancy, and Chris showed up too. We watched Open Season. It was very funny and just what I needed. Around midnight everyone left and I called Steve to let him know we were getting married! And then I did the unthinkable: I fell asleep.

Saturday, March 24th
The Wedding Day: Getting Beautiful

I woke up at 7:00am. WTF!! I totally didn’t want to get up that day. I remember thinking I wanted to lay in bed all day and realizing I had so much to do I started crying. Well I did end up getting up. I also showered and got dressed. I ate a waffle too. Then I had to run to my florist to check on my flowers. The yellow wasn’t the color I wanted!! I was upset at this and called Shana who told me that it would look fine and who really cares about the flowers. She’s a liar but I love her. (Well they did look fine.) My dad also ensured me that it would be fine.

I also went by my house to pick up sandals and saw Steve. That was fun. He was laying his butt on the couch and I was running around. Oh the pains of being a groom! :sarcasm:

I went back to my dad’s to put my stuff together so I could get to salon for my MIL. When I was bringing my stuff to the car my dad was packing up my dress. By the time I got up there he was in tears! And then I was in tears. There was hugging and tears and some laughter. Finally we got it all packed up.

My MIL’s car wasn’t in the parking lot at the salon so I went to her house to get her. She wasn’t there either, but FIL was so I hung out with him for about 15 minutes before going back to the salon. He had told me that she was there with Pat, her cousin, but Steve calls her auntie Pat, just so you know. I walked in and saw some one that looked like Pat, but Pat’s a hippie and I’ve never seen her hair up, but there she was getting her hair did! She looked great. At the back of the salon was MIL. She was getting her curls on and waiting for me to decide on the do. At this point it may be important to tell you guys my printer ran out of ink so I never printed out the do I wanted. I had to look through some books but found it. Her stylist was going to do that style anyway. And that’s why I picked a young stylist.

My stylist came in. She was excited to get started on my hair. We got an early start and decided (OK she decided) to change it a little bit. She also bought me hair jewels for an added touch.

Just as I was sitting down Sarah walked in. You know how she was going to just walk in that day? Well she would have never gotten an appointment! Usually that salon has two extra stylists on just for walk-ins and they had called out. Yes both of them! She would have never gotten a seat. We had trouble getting his nephew in. Anyway, she wanted to wear her hair half down and I told her no so many times. This was one thing I was not giving into. Nope not at all. So she just told her stylist to put it up and didn’t really like her hair. Serves her right.

Missy (SIL) comes in next. She approves her mother’s hair and takes a seat. I really didn’t get to talk to her a lot while we were getting pretty. She left rather quickly. I had thought she was mad, but she wanted to get back to her baby and had our nephew with her too.

Nancy came in too. She stood next to me the entire time I was getting my hair done. Just as I’m finishing up my stylist says she has a surprise for me. She wanted to do my eyes. Which was really good because I completely forgot to call my cousin’s girlfriend that week so I didn’t have a make up person. Eyes are always the hardest. She did a great job!

When I got up I realized I was hungry and went to get a snack with Sarah. I actually ate it all. I was proud of myself! Nancy was almost done by the time I had gotten back and Shana was dropped off because she was driving my car to the venue. She looked great too.

Nancy finished up and paid for me(!) and we were off! Almost.

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting There

For most people things are easy but with my friend that’s near impossible. For some reason we changed where we were meeting from Jenn’s to Sarah’s. It’s not that far but when you can’t get in touch with Jenn because she has her phone on vibrate…. UGH! When we finally got in touch with Jenn she didn’t want to ride up with Sarah because she wanted to be difficult. (Sarah is dating Jenn’s brother). Shana told her it was just too bad. I’m so glad Shana was like that. While we were at Sarah’s house he mother comes down stairs in her robe and she asked if I like her outfit for the wedding. Haha she’s funny. Jenn finally gets there and we get going. The only problem is that Shana drives fast and Jenn does not. We have to slow down many times for them.

When I was about halfway there I get a call from Steve. Apparently there’s no room reserved for us. No it’s reserved, just not paid for. I cannot comprehend this because when I reserved the room they took my card and then I had to sign something. OK I freaked out also. There was no more room on that card because of other wedding expenses. Jenn and Shana said they will pay for the room once we get there but then Steve calls and says it’s all set right now, we’ll have to pay for it in the morning. (I still have to check my September statement). Crisis over.

We get to the venue only 5 minutes late. Shana pulls up to the door and the other two park. As soon as they make their way to the door we start pulling stuff out of the car. Shana asks me three times if we got everything and I tell her yes all three times. I run into the venue and tell the girl at the desk that I’m the bride. Duh I’m wearing a tiara. I’m so stupid some times. We make it up to my room.

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting Dressed

Ok so we’re up in my room. It’s bigger than I remember. I swear they moved the bed. It’s so nice and cool except for in the bathroom where it goes up a million degrees. Sarah, Jenn, and Shana are the only ones with me at this point. I was trying to get Missy and Tammi (other SIL) into my room but for whatever reason they stayed with the guys. Whatever.

Really I had no idea what to do next. Like I have done this before! I had three pairs of earrings to decide which ones to wear. We ended up deciding on the first set I bought. Damn of course that would happen. I had Sarah start putting blush on my face, and Shana doing cover up on my scar. It’s really fun having 2 people fussing over you. Jenn went pee. I believe when she came out I had her take off my sneakers. Clearly I was getting the most out of me being a bride. The whole time my photographer is clicking away. I had them do a few more things, can’t remember what. Nancy also got there with champagne and a pen for the guest book. (oh yeah after I got my hair done I remembered I never picked up a pen for the guest book so I asked her to get one at CVS. Nothing too fancy I told her. She got a gold pen.) Up next was the girls getting dressed so they’d be ready to help me get dressed. I must say these girls clean up well. My photographer was still clicking away and I started to feel like a celebrity must feel so I said I felt like Britney Spears only I wasn’t going to shave my head.

Now it was Jill time!! Pants off, skirt on! Nope. Sorry I did it in reverse order. Anyway I had my skirt on. Shana was tying it and asked if she should double knot it. I said yes. ADVICE TO BRIDES TO BE: Do not double knot your skirt.

I think it was these points that Fred (BIL and the BM) came in with our ringbearer (nephew) and asked if the girls were wearing their shawl things. They weren’t. Well then they had to cut them because (begin rant) Mr. Tux didn’t give all the handkerchief things in the jackets. Also Mr. Tux doesn’t know how to size people properly. Jay had to buy a shirt because they didn’t have one that fit him even though when he went to get fitted they said he was all set. When he tried his on he asked them for another shirt at which point he was told he would have to buy one. Steve’s vest didn’t fit. They had to cut it so it could fit properly. Our ringbearers jacket was too tight. Another GM’s vest didn’t fit. Basically Mr. Tux told Steve that he should have tried it on and it was everyone’s fault theirs didn’t fit. ADVICE TO GROOMS TO BE: Don’t go to Mr. Tux. (that wasn’t a bad vent)

Now Tammi and Emilee (niece) came into our room. Em’s hair was a mess because she fell asleep in the car. I was a little upset but Em’s hair is never neat. It makes her, her. She was so cute though.

Tammi helped the other girls get me into my dress and then was on her way back out. Then I remembered that I needed deodorant and (this is the best part) Shana applied it for me!:hysterics: I love it!

Then the phone rang. Apparently it as 5:10 and Debi, the coordinator, wanted to know if I was ready. Sure I was ready to go! Only where was my veil? Shana, WHERE’S MY VEIL. Oh it’s in the car. She should have asked me 4 times if I had everything! She ran to the car and the others helped me down stairs.

We (the girls, Kevin, and my dad) were in the morning room waiting. I peeked to see the guests. Looking good. Shana yanked me over to her to put my veil on. Hehe. I love her. Then it was time to rock n roll!

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting Married

I was in the morning room (or whatever they called it) so I didn’t know the goings on when the men were walking down the aisle. Todd (my oldest brother) walked my stepmother down the aisle followed by my IL’s.

I think it was at this point that my crazy aunt comes into the middle room area where the guys were then lined up and refuses to leave. Debi tells her to take her seat and she says no. They try to get her to go along the side to take her seat but she doesn’t. They guys proceed down the middle after which my crazy aunt does. :chainsaw: I didn’t know this until afterwards but she had wanted to escort me down the aisle with my dad because “that’s what [my mom] would have wanted.” When she told my dad this he just about told her to get lost. Her walking in after the men was her last attempt. :chainsaw:


Then the doors open and the music changed to By Your Side by Sade for my girls. They all go. I only have pictures of two.

Next is Emilee and Kevin. I had thought she was going to get shy but she did a fantastic job. OK from the three steps I saw and then from the review afterwards I know she did a fantastic job. Kevin did awesome too but he’s almost 8 so it’s nothing to report on. I knew he’d do well.

The doors to the ballroom closed and my dad and I got in front of them. I did what Debi told me to do: breathe in; breathe out. I was tearing up, but as soon as those doors open it was like Zen. Not that I know what Zen is per say but I was completely calm. And then I believe I had a silly smile on my face.

Steve grabbed me right away. I told him not yet, not yet. Rev Mike had to welcome everyone and ask who gives me away. My dad said he did and gave me away. Steve’s hands were so clammy and I was glad because that meant he was nervous.

I remembered what other brides have said about the ceremony. It goes by in a blur so try to take it all in. I tried so hard to take it in. I tried to look at everybody. Whenever I looked at Steve I couldn’t tell you what was going on. Only that I felt that we were the only two in the room and that I was the only person that mattered to him in his whole life. I got through my vows with some giggling which was much better than Steve did. He couldn’t get one sentence right. He must of tried 4 times before Rev. Mike told him to say ‘Ditto’ and asked my dad if that was OK. Everyone was laughing. We did the hands ceremony and the ring ceremony and we were married. Rev. Mike pronounced us man and wife. We kissed. I gave MIL the thumbs up and people laughed. Cue the music: Where You Lead by Carole King. I strained my ears trying to listen to my Gilmore Girls song but people were clapping so loudly (those bastards.) I had a huge smile on my face, I don’t know about him.

Okay everyone I'm going to start the reception so stop posting!

First I got to add ambush numero uno of CA (crazy aunt). See this picture of Jenn and Nancy? The story is behind the two gorgeous ladies. If you look between them you see pink. Guess who that is? CA!! I was sitting on the stairs talking to my brother Aaron, who you can see fully, (I’m behind Jenn’s big head.) when CA comes charging at me interrupting my special time with Aaron. I have no idea what she said and I bet Aaron doesn’t either. We’re so used to shutting her out of our heads. I think she asked me to come over for supper because she asked me 20 million times again that night. She would not leave me alone until the photographer took a picture. Now onto the reception!

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting The Party Started

We go back into the morning room to line up. Shana does up my bustle and Nancy takes off my veil. Aren’t they the best? Then it’s time for Sarah to be a pain in my ass again. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the WP to sit down or stand up after coming in so Debi asked for my final decision. Sarah had to sit down. Jenn told me that they should stand up which I think was only because Sarah wanted to sit down. I just said to sit down because 1) Sarah just shut up!! 2) Kevin and Emilee and 3) Missy and the baby. Quite frankly I wouldn’t have cared if they stood up on their chairs and did the can-can I just wanted to get partying. I must have told everyone 20 times to go sit down and Debi told them too.

My DJ goes over everyone’s names. He got them right on the first try!! I had to add in the baby who was being escorted by his father (the baby can’t walk yet). No problem there. I had an awesome DJ.

A new guest arrives. John – GM and cousin of the groom – had a party the night before and invited a friend. Steve and I know this friend. He told his friend to come to the reception after dinner but friend apparently doesn’t listen very well. But it’s okay because my cousin and her boyfriend/fiancé/husband (I honestly don’t know what he is to her) weren’t coming. Insert story here: Two nights before the wedding CA calls up my dad to let him know that my cousin and her man aren’t going to make it to the wedding. My dad hasn’t quite gotten with this century and doesn’t have caller ID but must have CA ESP because he didn’t answer it and she left a message. I think it’s pretty stupid that for no reason my cousin can’t make my wedding but also can’t call me or my dad herself. She’s old enough to have a baby and live with her man but she can’t make a simple phone call? That’s not the point. Back to reception: J asks me where to put this friend he’s calling by friend’s real name which I do not know. What is it with guys and nicknames? Steve tells me who it is and I put him at CA’s table. Easily done right? Wrong! When J sits friend and his g/f down CA tells J she doesn’t want them at her table! J tells CA that Steve and I told him to sit them down at this empty spot. I already paid for the meals, why the hell not! I think friend got scared because he offered to move, but there wasn’t any room. CA threw a little fit a little longer (so I heard) but in the end they ate together.

So everyone lines up and the music starts for the introductions:

Everyone goes in pretty smoothly except for Tammi who stumbles nearly taking John down in the process. Now Tammi is a big girl and John is a pole so I’m imagining it was pretty funny. I was upset though because I used Dirty Water because it’s a Red Sox song and Tammi is missing her brain cells (aka a Yankees fan) but she didn’t even get it! I mean come on it’s in Fever Pitch and everything. Should have used Sweet Caroline!

Then it’s time for the all-important introduction. (We used Alive by POD) Our DJ introduces us, people cheer, but we don’t come out. He says our guests weren’t loud enough and does it again. We come out just as the music goes: I feel so alive for the first time!!!!! It was planned of course. Originally I wanted to be grabbing his butt when the doors opened then I liked this idea better. I can grab is butt any time I want.

And that’s when I notice Debi telling half our wedding party to get in their seats. Why do I bother telling these people anything?

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting My Grove On

Right from being introduced we went into our first dance - Beautiful In My Eyes by Joshua Kadison. Can you believe that I can’t remember hearing the song? First, people were talking and second, Steve and I were talking and joking. What? I have no idea!

This is me telling Jenn to take a picture with her phone to send it to my boss and to Lisa (carolinalady67). And I am just going to say here that Jenn never sent a picture to Lisa, Jesse did.

Then it was on to the salad: Caesar. Here’s the thing, I don’t even care for Caesar salad but everyone in Steve’s family loves it so I had that instead of garden. It was a very good salad anyway. That’s when I had Jesse send Lisa a picture.

Right after salad was the Father/Daughter dance – The Gift by Jim Brickman and Martina McBride. Can’t really remember hearing that song either my dad talked my ear off. I remember telling my dad I should have taken my shoes off because we’re the same height and I was wearing 3 inch heels. We didn’t cry though!

Followed by Mother/Son dance – Thank You for Loving Me by Bon Jovi. I don’t remember this because this is when everyone was coming to me talking. Oh and I had trouble sitting down. My dress kept pushing my chair back and I almost fell on my ass (it would’ve been a preview for my ass, right journal readers?).

What came next? Was it the main meal? I’m not sure. Maybe, probably. Who cares? Everyone was eating and didn’t take pictures. I hardly ate my food. I wasn’t in the mood for eating at all. Steve and I got up to talk to our guests. We did half the room when we were pulled back to the floor for the WP dance – Blessed by Christina Aguilera.

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting Confused Now

Now after this I cannot really recall the order of events so this is not in order at all.

At some point Fred and Nancy did their toasts. Nancy went first and she did a great job. I still don’t have a copy of it because she’s visiting Chris’s family and hasn’t made it home to e-mail a copy. Fred went next. He was so nervous. The entire time he looked directly at his paper and was monotone. His was how we are good together but we need to remember that there will be hard times and we need to work together and he welcomed me to the family. It was from his heart and I loved it.

We had to talk to the other side of the room and my husband showed how much smarter he is than me. We started at CA table at the same person (by this time the friend bailed on the table) but he went the opposite way than me. I went right into CA’s trap and by this time I believe she drank too much wine. She gets up and squeezes me – I mean squeeze like one of those stress balls where the eyeballs pop out – and starts saying how much she loves me and how I should come over for dinner and how come we never got close (anybody care to guess? :crazy:). You’d think this would take about a minute but she repeats herself 50 times and I’m trying to leave but she just kept pulling me in again and again. I was like a rag doll being whipped about. My husband by this time as fled the scene (can we say grounds for annulment?) I’m trying to stare at my mom’s cousin to help me which she does but the second, and I mean second, she lets me go CA grabs me again. This time she keeps repeating, “I fucking love you, you know that?” I don’t even know how I got out of that one. When I leave I fly over to the next table. :bolt:

OK, as some of you know, I had a famous person at my wedding. I graciously put him in the corner because I didn’t really want people bother him. So I was thrilled to hear 2 days before the wedding that his band is going to be playing nearby in May. I knew people were going to be asking for tickets and I was hoping no one would say something to him. As far as I know nobody bothered him, though Nate got some pictures of him sitting down. But that’s OK. A lot of our guests asked us for tickets and one tried to play it cool by asking Steve if he was interested in going to the concert. Some people just don’t have the class to be around the famous. :snob: Anyway he was at the next table. They couldn’t stay much longer. So I said bye to them.

I have pictures of the cake so I’ll do that now! It was done to the song from the Wedding Singer. I told Steve not to smash it in my face and he told me not to smash it in his face. Instead I fed him nicely and put frosting on his nose and he did the same to me. When we were done his niece was patiently standing by the cake table with that look that she got from me. The “I want some cake too” look so I gave her some of the left over on my hand.

Next up I will tell you about the bouquet/garter toss. First Steve had to get the garter. Some how he managed to pull off mine and not the throw away. I did put the throw away on after the other one. After he pulled it off I was like, “No that’s mine put it back on!” So he got another go at it.

Our tosses were done simultaneously so I don’t have any pictures of that since I only have pictures from 2 people who were participating. I realized we have a ton of friends who are not married yet. The floor was packed. Kristin yelled for me to throw it to her and I told her I would, but I didn’t really mean it. The song was Dirty by Christina Aguilera. Kristin ending up catching the bouquet! CA ripped half the flowers off the toss bouquet though. I’m so glad Kristin has a good grip!! Steve’s friend Murgo caught the garter. We like to make fun of Murgo by telling everyone he’s in love with Steve and that he’s afraid of girls so it was very very funny.

Saturday, March 24th:
The Wedding Day: Getting Everyone’s Grove On

I was very happy to see that the floor was basically always filled. When the floor was emptying out our DJ would play music for a different age group or a slow song. It worked out great. A few people hung around the bar and less people hung in the morning room and middle room.

At one point I requested Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake for Kristin who skipped the concert to come to my wedding. Now that’s love.

I forgot about this: When I was younger and in Girl Scouts there was a Father/Daughter dance that my dad and I went to. It was taped for public access. Who watches public access? Everyone that works in the town hall, that’s who. The day after it ran my dad got his props for doing a mad chicken dance. My dad never let me forget his embarrassment. So after our father/daughter dance the DJ announced I had a special surprise for my dad and the Chicken Dance started playing. We only did a little bit of it but it was funny.

Our final dance was to Keith Urban’s Making Memories of Us. That’s when I realized how many people stayed. Mostly younger people were still there but we had a nice mix of the older crowd. The floor was basically packed. I’ve never seen that many people at the end of a wedding. It started with Steve and I dancing in the middle then everyone joined in with us. It all went by too quickly.

And the best part was it snowed!! You know how I wanted snow. OK well it didn’t do much but there was a little on the grass. Steve and Tammi ran outside for snow angels. I got a picture but Tammi’s dress was up so I deleted it. I know somebody got pictures.

OK that’s all I can remember now. Tomorrow I will post the post wedding drama. Post away again guys!

Post Wedding Drama

My girls took it upon themselves to decorate our room. Which was very nice. The only problem was that the petals ran when they got wet. Steve had made snow angels then proceeded to jump onto the bed still wet.

Next it was Steve's turn to get me undressed. My dress had a built in corset which he complained about, but that wasn't even the biggest obstacle! Remember Shana have done a double knot in my skirt? It got so tight Steve couldn't get it undone! He kept pulling it and I kept screaming he was only making it worse and cutting into my kidneys. He was going to cut it but I rented the skirt so instead I yelled at him to get his SIL! After a few minutes in agony trying to loosen it around my waist his SIL came in. This is when I learned that you never send a drunk person to get help from another drunk person. She only pulled it tighter. Then aunt Pat came to the rescue. She said she was good with knots but I doubted she could get this one out. Some how, through some miracle she did it. I WAS SO RELIEVED!!

Steve came back in and I told him to look at me (in my dress) and really look at me because this was the last time he was going to see me in that dress (well at least the last time I could sanely wear it for a day). I don't think he really listened to me though.
