View Full Version : What to do with your bouquet after the wedding?

I didn't keep track of my bouquet during the reception at all and my mom saved it for me. Now that it's all dried out, what did you ladies do with your bouquets? Did you keep them? If so, what did you do with it?

When DH and I were married, we went the morning after and put my bouquet and his bout on his dad's grave. It was an emotional thing to do, but we both felt like it was the best thing to do with them.
I'm not sure what we'll do for the renewal, since we have to leave at 6:00 the next morning for our HM. :shrug2:

Mine is on a shelf in the living displayed with some pics...but it also was not made of real flowers.
I am putting pieces of it in a shadow box with my hair broach and pearls I wore. I will probably stick and invitation in there too.

mine was silk and will be displayed in a vase.
you could save it, or make potpourri , take flowers from it to decorate a wedding frame.

I saved mine and my maid of honors bouquets. (silk flowers) and they are on the top shelf of the closet in the baby's room. I have no clue what to do with them.
I have no where to display them in my home.
My sister kept hers from her wedding and left it sitting out on display. Its faded, dirty and dusty.

:sappy: That is so sweet (wipes tears from eyes).
I'm big into drying flowers. I'll hang mine upside down to dry then probably put it in a china cabinet or display case. The other day I came across the rose that was either in my corsage or in my ex's boutinnere from 16 years ago - dried and holding up quite well except for a few outer petals.

Mine was silk. It is wrapped in plastic waiting for me to find a shadowbox big enough for it.

Mine was real. I'm getting it preserved and put in a display case/shadow box thing.

My mom tried to preserve mine in a plastic bag while we were on our honeymoon, but it molded and turned into liquid. :gag: I dried the bouquets from two friends' weddings where I was a bridesmaid, and when one of the brides heard what happened, she gave me her bridesmaid bouquet from my wedding that she happened to have saved. :lovestruck: So I had the three hanging from a small rack in my bedroom, but they make DH sneeze like mad, so now they live in a shoebox in my closet. :(
Some Brides just take a few of the flowers from their bouquet to save for themselves and use the bouquet for the toss.

I have no idea where mine ended up.. I *think* my cousin may have taken it, I remember being asked if I wanted it and I said no...
My mom still has one of my sisters BM bouquets dried out at her house...

My bouquet was made of silk. For a wedding gift we received a vase that attaches to the wall, once we find the vase again we will probably hang it back on the wall with my bouquet in it. I found the bouquet last week while unpacking. It's sitting on Breanna's dresser as I type.

I made a shadow box with some of the wedding items. I put a few of the dried flowers from my bouquet in it and then tossed the rest.

I gave mine to my mom because we were going on our Hm the next day so she had it till they died and then tossed it. We did not dry them as we belive that dried flowers from wedding are bed luck so yeah. But I had some brenches in it and in my centerpices so my mom put them in a water and now they have roots so we will plent them in her garden!

I am going the freezeframe route, and this Saturday I get to pick out the shadowbox frame and stuff that I want for it. I can't wait to see the finished product.

My flowers were real and I brought them home after the wedding, put them in water and then looked at them every day till they died. Then I threw them out. I wish they would of lasted longer, but hey everything dies sooner or later.

i saw this in a bridal magazine and i have my heart set on doing this... they pressed the flowers from the boquet and put them under a class top table with some wedding pictures and the invites, and they also showed the pressed flowers in a frame surrounding a professional wedding pic... i dont know which one im going to do but im definitly going to do one or the other

I think Chris's mom took it home and a week later it died. :p

It was at my parent's house and it just died. Mom tried to save DH's bout but she pressed it wrong and it ended up molding so we threw them both out.

I threw mine out. We left early for our HM the next morning, so I only had time to put it in the fridge before we left. It was dead when I got back. I did save the ribbon and the bouquet jewel :)

I had my bouquet made so it could split in half, and I have one half to each of our grandmothers after the reception.

I threw it away a couple days after the wedding. The petals were already bruising the day of the wedding, and they turned completely brown by Tuesday. I kept the ribbon, pins, and sparkly things though!

I got mine back this weekend from being preserved. http://www.freezeframeit.com/
I can't seem to get a good picture of it with this camera due to the glare of the glass, but I will post up what I have, because even though I don't post much, I know that this board likes pictures. LOL. :)
We preserved my bouquet, Josh's boutonniere, and a few of my bridesmaids flowers.

Thanks Kate!
I was lucky that the place is just 5-10 minutes away from my parents and I didn't have to ship the stuff there! When we picked it up there was a girl there picking hers up and she drove 3 hours to do so! I'm sure they ship them back to people . . . I wonder how much that would cost compared to driving 3 hours?!
