We will be having our vow renewal on our 19th anniversary. If you are having one, what yr of marriage will it be for you?

If we had one we probably will not until at least our 10th, but it will probably we something we would do for our 25th.

I am thinking our 10th or 25th as well. Just sounds right to me and it will be a renewal not a do-over so we can wait that long.

My parents renewed their vows in Hawaii this past January (after their 26th) :) I wasn't there, but it was them and their friends. I didn't even know they did until a few weeks after -- my mom hadn't told me!
I love that my parents still love eachother so much after being married so long. I can't wait until that's me and Michael :)

Actually I think or should say hope that it will be just like the proposal, totally up to DH? And if he never ask, boo hoo for me

Ours will be on our 5th but it's basically a re-do of what went wrong in our orig. wedding.

It will be our 20th anniversary. Not the exact date but two days prior.

We're not renewing on our anniversary. June 23, 2007 is the date that we originally set for our wedding, and we are still having that date for our renewal.

I would like for ours to be on our 10th anniversary but really it will depend on Robbie to ask since I can't remember the 1st proposal. I am pretty sure it was just "understood" that we would get married.

im not sure if we will even do one *lol* maybe our 20th or 25th who knows. if we had one at our 10 years. it would be something extremly simple. we are going all out basically on our wedding so we dont have to re new anything to be honest. fh feels them vows should last a life time anyways.. so if we never did one. im happy either way :)

Amen sista!
And just speaking for myself...I don't mean to offend anybody but I don't see the point in doing a vow renewal except if a)You never got to have the wedding you wanted in the first place. Some people eloped, went to the courthouse, ect out of circumstance. Also I think if you are going to have one and have already had the wedding you wanted, you should wait a substantial amount of time. I always thought of vow renewals as being done by couples who had at least been married 25 years. It wasn't until I started visiting wedding websites where I saw people doing them 3.....5.....10 years in.
It's just something that is not important to me though. Every day of our marriage will be a "vow renewal" to me.

I agree . so does my FH ..plus i dont have the money to have a wedding like this again LOL nor do i even want to! .I never heard of people doing it in 3,5,10 years either to be honest. fh believes the vows we say on ur wedding day should last forever. You shouldn't have to renew them words cause they last for ever right? lol just my opinion. but everyone can do what they want. to me i'd rather just go on a vacation instead of that LOLOL!!! yippy!:jump4joy:

We were thinking our 4th or 15th because that is the times our anniversary falls on a Sunday. We are going to have a do-over as well as it being to reaffirm things after troubles if we get through it. I think it will be more the 15th though because of money.

I can agree with you. In our case we were married in a judge's chambers in 2 minutes (not an exageration). It was in the South in 88, we were very young and the marriage was an interracial one. At that time the state didn't even have to allow the marriage. We found a judge who would do it but not in public.
So here we are almost 19 yrs later and we want the chance to have our family around to hear our vows (my family didn't accept our marriage back then). Other than that we wouldn't be having a renewal. We aren't register for gifts, we just want everyone to be there.

We are planning a renewal for our 15th. There were a lot of things that did not go right the first time around so we are planning to do it again. Which means all the things I had to settle with the first time will not be an issues by 2021.

We are doing something very small on our 1 year anniversary. We're doing it because his mom was not able to travel to MI for our wedding and he is (virtually) her only child.
Besides that, I'd like to do something for our 25th anniversary. But I'd like it to be more of a party. Maybe a reception hall with the guests seated at the tables and we do a quick renewal at the front of the room then party.

Abi- we are thinking of a renewal on/around our 1st anniversary for close to the same reason as you. Toms family wasn't able to make it to TX for the wedding so we are having something ultra small for his family in FL, none of my family will be invited to it though since they did share in our orginal wedding. That's probably when a bigger honeymoon will happen as well.
After that though I honestly have no plans for a renewal, maybe a cool anniversary party but no more weddings. Soon enough I'll have children getting married and I can enjoy their plans ;)

We've always planned on doing something for our 10th anniversary. We want to go back to Hawaii where we had our honeymoon.

I always told my DH that we were doing it all over again for our 5th wedding anniversary. :) But that is just 2 years away. And I dont think we will do the whole vow renewal thing, but I plan on having an anniversary party. And doing it all up like a small reception. I dont expect gifts, I just love throwing parties.
And Im thinking for our 10th anniversary, we will do something big in Hawaii or somewhere like that. We never really got a real honeymoon, so that will be nice, I think.

I have a dream to do a renewal in the mountains, but it'll probably be for our 25th or something. Something to celebrate longevity :)
Becky, I LOVE the idea of an anniversary party for your 5th! Ours is coming up in just over 5 months (:faint:) and I'm going to have to talk to DH about doing something like that :)

I'm not big on the whole "renewal" thing. But if we did do it, it would be very small (just immediate family....not like a wedding....just a nice, casual event). And it would be on October 28th, 2028. See the theme....28? :hehe: We started dating August 28th 2004 also. So we like the number 28. It would be our 22 year anniversary.
