I am thinking of registering at Kohls...I just wanted to make sure no one has any Kohls horror stories....

While Kohls is a great store to shop at, its not the best place to register, IMO.
I don't have any specific "horror stories", but DH and I had some difficulties with them. They only have some items for short periods of time--we think they buy them from other stores and then sell them until they run out. We had to re-register for some items because they were no longer in the store. That also goes for different locations. They might have the item(s) at location A, but not at location B. Also, if you want to return something, they give you the current discounted price. So while it's great to get the super deals when you are shopping for yourself, it stinks when you need to return it. Also, some of our friends also told us that it's nearly impossible to find things there.
With that being said, I wouldn't recommend it--but they weren't awful. :) It's a good place for your guests to get a good deal on gifts...if they can find them.

I agree with PP. Some stores just have registry set up SO well, it doesn't make sense to use a store that doesn't have a good program.
I love Kohls though, and never shop at BB&B (overpriced!). I'm seriously considering registering for things from BB&B, returning them, and going over to Kohls to buy them for 1/2 the price.
It would be nice if there were a universal registry list, so that guests could shop around to get the best deal on something.

I didn't register at Kohls but I've bought gifts from there. Their registry is very user friendly (unlike Sears)

I had difficulty registering there. I spent an hour tagging things with that gun just to have the lady at the Customer Service Desk screw it al up and lose the entire registery. All I got was a "Oh well, guess you'll have to do it again" from her! But thats my only horror story and the reason why I decided against using Kohl's.

We've only just registered a couple weeks ago, and haven't yet gotten anything off our registry, so my only thing so far is this: we went around and registered, printed it off and left, and then I noticed that the box of pots and pans we registered for, in the store, said they were available ONLINE only. :disbelief:
While BB&B may not be the cheapest place, they have a very nice registry program, I've heard great things about it, and is so far, and by far, the easiest one to work with both in store and online! I belive that you get what you pay for.

We registered at BB&B and Kohl's and both were really easy. I started both online and then went into the store and added more items. BB&B is not always more expensive than Kohl's. A few of my items are actually cheaper at BB&B.

In reference to katnye's post....I was one of the guests attempting to buy things off her registery at Kohl's :hehe: Honestly I have never had a good experience with them. I have attempted to buy gifts off registeries three times and will NEVER do it again. It was a nightmare. I think I tried to find at least 4 or 5 different things each time and didn't find ANYTHING. And I've heard that from numerous other people as well.
If you are looking for a place with a kick butt return policy, check out Bed Bath & Beyond...they are amazing!

I got the CUTEST Christmas plates from my mom that she bought at Kohl's, but I've only been there a few times. It seems like a nice store, but I can see what people are saying about only having certain items for a limited time.

I totally agree. I've never dealt with a Kohl's registry before. I've been to tons of weddings in the last few years and no one has ever been registered at Kohl's, which may or may not mean anything.
I have to agree the BB&B is so incredibly easy for both you and your guests. Your registry serves as the gift receipt, so you don't have to worry about that. And they do give cash back, although I don't think I would ever do that. :) We had to take back a few things after the wedding (duplicate toaster, a blanket that pilled horribly after we washed it) and they were so cool and quick about the whole transaction.
And I don't find them to be all that terribly expensive, especially since most folks I know get those 20% off coupons in the mail practically every week!

BB&B also accepts Linen N Things and other competitors' coupons and expired ones!
