How Many Save The Dates?

Did you send a STD to everyone on your guest list? I am working on a rough draft of the guest list now and want to begin making the STD's soon...I am planning on doing a lot of DIY :) I wasn't sure who should recieve a STD and who can just rely on knowing the wedding date through word of mouth, etc.

We're not sending STD's to everyone on the list - mostly family, wedding party and OOT guests who will have to make special arrangements for time off etc... We'll be sending approximately 120 invitations, and we're sending out 80 STD cards.

Also, where I'm sending my niece and nephew a separate invitation from their Mom's, I decided that I would send one STD to each address!

I didn't send them to every guest either, just in case I would need to downsize the our guest list. They went to family, close friends, and wedding party.

I sent out about 90-100 for about 130 invites.

Send them to anyone who will need a longer time to plan. For instance, those who have to travel, and those who have tyrants for bosses and might need a few extra months to get the time off work. :)

We didn't send out STDs to everybody..just those that would be coming from OOT, plus all members of our family and the wedding party. But it is a good idea to send one to people who may need the extra time to request off work as well!

We sent them to everyone, since it was a three hour trip (and probable overnight stay) required for anyone who was coming.

Hi! Thanks girls! :) Nate has almost all his relatives out of town/state and most of mine will be about an hour or more...I would say the majority of the guest list is out of town, so it might be best to send them to those who will have travel time!

Since we moved our wedding date and I had already had my bridal shower, I sent STD magnets to all the ladies that received a shower invitation.

I'm going to send STDs to those that are out of town, which is three quarters of the guest list. The quarter that lives in town is my family, and they can't help but talk, so they will all know what date!

That's part of the reason not everyone got a STD either - just in case we have to trim the list later on!

I am going to send them to family and close friends. Some of the people that are family friends. I am not going to give them to some of the people at work because things may change.

Yes…I hand delivered some b.c. when I sent out my STD’s it was around the 4th of july….so I just gave it to them.

We sent out our STD's to only those people that we REALLY wanted at the wedding just in case we can't invite everyone when it comes time to send the invitations. We're getting married in Vegas, so everyone is an OOT guest!
