So, I am my sister's MaOH for her June 2008 wedding at Mackinac Island in Michigan. :excited:
She is having 3 BM's, and we are to choose our own dresses - the only requirements is that it be champagne in color, and tea length.
My own requirement is that it be able to fit over a pregnant woman's tummy and look good! If all goes according to plan, I will be pregnant with DC# 2 at the time of the wedding.
Yeah, yeah - shouldn't plan, what if it doesn't go right, etc - but we got pregnant with DS on our first month of trying. :eyebrows:
So - Spam me! Give me ideas! What would you not mind seeing your preggo MaOH wearing as she comes down the aisle?
TIA!!
A-line!
If you can find the right fit, a tea length a-line would be wonderful because it starts to pull away from the body at the exact right place to hide a baby bump (as long as the bump is still just a bump and not a full fledged belly)
(I am soooo excited that you are already ready to try for #2!! Holy cow, where did the time go?!?)

LOL, Kari! Where DOES the time go?!?!?
And I am hoping that it won't just be a bump, but a full-fledged mountain! We are hoping for an August baby - so, I guess I should say that, huh? :giggle:
And Jamie will be 2 at the time of the wedding!!! Is it sad that I had started looking for the *perfect* carrier before I even thought about the dress?!?! :hysterics:

Well, you definitely need something with an empire waist, I would guess? Watters and Watters has some cute maternity dresses that are tea length. None of them are called champagne, but they have names like oyster and antique. Are those the same?

Hey Tanya! :)
Yeah - I think they are relatively the same! :) I will check them out.

I love this one

and this one would "go" with her dress - she is wearing a sash dress

My concern is the price.... I don't mind paying that for a good dress that makes me feel fabulous - but the other two bridesmaids are not going to be able to afford the W&W dresses. :( I think my sister was hoping we would all order from one line of dresses - this way the color was a little more uniform. She wants us to choose our own dress within the color option. Does that make sense?
Hmmm.... off to look at the Aria dresses.

I really liked both of those dresses, Jen. I know Watters and Watters is expensive. I first tried David's Bridal, but they only have two maternity dresses and neither comes in champagne or a related color. Then I tried Alfred Angelo, but I didn't see any maternity styles, which I thought was odd.
Let us know if you find something on Aria. :)

Something could always be altered to fit... my only concern is having enough fabric for a decent length in the front.
I think dresses with the empire waist always look beautiful...

In satin - that 2nd one is $175. Not bad. When it goes to silk shantung, it jumps to $224! Yikes!
they have some other REALLY cute BM dresses that the other girls could choose from, as well. Nothing else is really drapey, so I would have to choose from one of those, probably.

When you order a dress couldn't they have them make it to where the front part is longer? I know when a bridal gown has detailing on the bottom and the bride is shorter they make it to fit her that way none is lost during alterations. That way maybe if you will be wearing the same dress as the other girls it would fit you in the front but not hike itself up from the baby bump kwim?
I really like that orange dress!

I really like the orange one, too!
I could order a dress with extra length - and then hem it accordingly.
