Where do the Unity Candles go?

It's an outdoor wedding and they're having an arch. Does she need to have some kind of table behind or to the side of the arch? Where does it usually go?

The only wedding attendants will be their 3 children, ages 10, 7, and 3.

I've only ever seen the unity candle somewhere to the side of the arch.
