I really like my current last name, but FH and my parents are very adamant about me changing my name to his last name.
So I was wondering is there anyway to change my name to:
Sarah MiddleName CurrentLastName FH'sLast Name
but not have it hyphenated. I would like my current last name to be like a second middle name.
Is it possible to do this??

I'm in a similar situation. I want to keep my maiden name and also take on Todd's last name. I talked to Todd about it and he doesn't care if take his name or not. Todd's last name will take some getting used to since it's pretty unique hehe. So I'll just end up with Gina MiddleName MaidenLastName ToddsLastName.

Thanks Ladies!!! I knew I could count on you to give me an answer!
That is exactly what I did. My legal name is Kari Middle Maiden Married, but I go by Kari Married.

I was asking my mom about this a few days ago b/c we both go by middle names. She said she just dropped the first name and put maiden as her middle.
I want to do something like this also. So my name would be Virginia Garland maiden married and I would still go by Garland.

We are both changing our last name
First Middle MyLastName HisLastName (no hyphen)

I have a friend who is a hyphenate. She said it was the biggest pain in the arse to have those two names - just everyday situations that she didn't think of before she did it became a pain later.
My maiden name is hard to spell so there's no way I'd do it anyway, but just passing along what she said.

My MIL has her last name hyphenated and she says the same thing about it being a big PITA. That is why I'm not doing it

Agreed about hyphenating being a PITA. My FBIL's wife hyphenated her name and it just bugs me when I see it.

And not only does it seem to be a PITA, I just think it SOUNDS pretentious as well (usually anyway). My coworker is NOT pretentious in the least, but I think her two last names sound like it.
