Just wondering if yall are planning or had a bible verse read at the wedding? If so, which verse?

We're thinking about having 1. Corinthians Chapter 13 read at our renewal.

FH found this thread last night, so I thought I should check in. :D We're currently on week 2 of teaching childrens church for our 4 week stint. FH has done this before, but it's new to me. We're having soooo much fun though :D we're teaching about God's covenants... last week was the blood covenant which talked about the devils fiery darts so Erik (FH) used this blow dart stick to pop balloons... he's so great with the kids :D

Thanks... I'm really enjoying it. He also taught them about the different types of givers (for the collection of tything(sp)) and he threw himself on the floor in a temper tantrum. The kids were all shocked... I mean what adult do you know that would just plop on the floor in a full on temper tantrum!

:jump4joy: I'm here!! Hello everyone!

TeenieBeenie - we never had any readings at our wedding, but it was a more modern service (modern isn't the word I'm looking for, but this little brain has been up for 25 hours!) Our pastor talked about the roles of the husband and the wife, and how we are becoming through marriage greater than the sum of our parts. I would love to see who has had readings though and what they were.

Kat NDa Sand - Good for you! I did Children's ministry before I got married. That's the area DH and I would like to minister in when things calm down enough that we have weekends off together!

And everyone else - HI!!!

Can I start another QOD? How can we (the members on this thread) pray for you this week?

smiles
07-15-2006, 10:36 AM
Yea! Glad you made it here Winter_Bride!

QOD: How can we (the members on this thread) pray for you this week?
The upcoming week is going to be busy, because I have a huge term paper due for my class and I have to work full time this week. And the kidscamp at my church which I'm in charge of the preschool group is doing a program next weekend that I will be busy preparing them for. We moved into our house 2 weeks ago and are getting settled in still. Pray that I don't get to stressed this week.

Hey everyone...I Just told my work yesterday that I will be leaving in a month or leaving in 2 weeks if I get the job that I applied for. Pray that my interview goes well...I really need this job (it will be in the city that I will be moving to once we are married)

Hi to all the new ladies! And everyone who needs it, you will be in our prayers.

The only prayer *miracle* we're looking for is getting pg. We've been ttc for almost 3 yrs now w/no such luck. We both haven't seen a dr. yet, I guess hoping & praying that God will answer our prayers w/out having to seek a dr.'s help. So that's the only prayer we need. :)

Welcome HisBlue. My wedding is over also, but I like it here to get support from other Christians.

HisBlue
07-20-2006, 06:56 PM
Thanks girls! It's definitely nice to have support and know other Christians! I'm just a baby Christian... decided for Christ in October! I'm SO glad I did, but I had to make A LOT of changes! Being shy about things was definitely one of them! I'm glad to say that the Lord REALLY helped me get over that, but we still have a bit of a ways to go :D

I"m so excited to get to talk to you all. My only problem right now is the lack of fellowship I get at church... just because I'm at a weird age gap. I am the youngest person there that belongs with the adults (after me hits about 12 or 13) and the youngest person older than me (does that even MAKE sense? LOL) is my DH who is 20 years older than me and after that the woman is 20 years older than my DH! Kinda hard to find common ground with people like that sometimes... their grandkids are my age LOL

-->Kat<--
07-21-2006, 12:33 AM
That does make it difficult but age is only a number and maybe there's somebody there with young spirited ways of thinking :D

HisBlue, are there any other churches around your area that you can attend...being a christian, ESPECIALLY when you're just a baby, it's a lot easier when you're accoutable to someone. What are your reasonings behind choosing this church...

Well, this is the church that DH attends... The other Christian church in town I hesistate to go to just yet at they are having issues with their Pastor. The message is good at my church and I just love it there, I just can't help there was someone around my age that I could talk to!

(BTW I live in a REALLY small town in the middle of nowhere... that's why there aren't too many churches to choose from!)

His Blue- I know it can be hard to find the right church. It took me visiting several churches before I found the right one. I know how hard it is to be a young adult in a church, and not have peopel around my age. We are lucky when we moved we found a church that has a young adults group we attend. Could you go to church where you go, but see if other churches have a young adults group? Even if you are the only person your age, get involved anyway. Maybe talk to the church about starting a young adults group or reaching out to young adults.

QOD: Is anyone's DH not a Christian or not an active Christian?

My DH grew up Catholic. He was bored by church, and didn't agree with some of the Catholic church's views. He only went to church maybe easter when I met him. I grew up in a nondenominational church, and accepted christ at a young age and continued going to church and went to a christain college where I was surrounded by faith. I met DH through friends, and never pressured him into believing what I did or going to church. I lived by example, and told my background. When we first married and moved I had completly quit going to church, but then slowly I started going to church. Then after a rough time in the begining of our marriage, he said he would go to church with me. We found a nondenominational coffee house church we both enjoy, and he goes with me every sunday. We're also active in a young adults bible study.

WOO WOO...unfortunately smile, damian isn't a christian. he has come a LONG way since we first met. Before he wouldn't even listen to us talk and stuff leave the room, now he sits and listens and lvoes to hear the conversation. I can see hes softening.

collegegal- It took a long time for DH to even talk about anything religion related. He would always change the subject or it's fine if you're into it, but it's not for me. It took him a long time to even get him to try going to church to prove it wasn't terrible. He finally agreed to go just once, and slowly realized he didn't mind it. He still will not tell his family or anyone that he is going to church, but at least he's going, and being more open to christianity.

Thanks for your reply Smiles... honestly I think what I would like to see more is a group for married couples... Though I think I may talk to my pastor about a young adults group though, it could be helpful! (Though, I think normally the cut off age for that is 25 and I will be 25 in a few months!)

As to the QOD. DH is why I came to know Christ. However, he's not very active in church lately. He used to be VERY active (way before he met me) and then had a few problems and has fallen away. That's part of my reluctance to change churches, if that is the church he will go to, I want to see him going to church with me. If that makes any sense at all.

I was like your DH, Smiles, was when I first met Steve... the mention of Christ or being Christian I would roll my eyes or walk out, or zone out. I didn't want to hear it. Luckily I had alot of prayers for me. I'm glad I did!

That's what I'm finding. I like the young adults group, but that seemed to attract college students and singles. Now our 20 somthing group has grown, so we split into 2 groups. One group is more of a college, young adults group and the group we attend has developed into more of a older 20's couples without kids group which I enjoy.

Thought we could share the daily ways the our Lord has helped us.
The AC blow out last week! :( I'm not surprise giving the weather we've had. In a maga heat wave - braking the power system here. Lucky for us we were not at 113s that was the week before. It was around 103. Our regular AC man had flaked out on us - new owner. So I called a couple of people and got references. First repair place I called - they will come Aug. 3! I took that appointment. Then called the next guy - voice mail. Next place - very nice man - but he was very confused. He had not been answering his phone for the last three weeks. Just taking a list off the voice mail. Wasn't even returning calls since he is so busy. He was just switching lines and there was little old me. :) Now he doesn't understand but I do. I prayed about how to make a good decision finding a new person and getting a decent deal. It was such a fluke me getting him I figured it was the Lord.
The nice owner came out that day - even though he's been having health problems and not doing any work outside the office. And within three days we had lovely AC! A true blessing!
How has God answered you prayers today?

He answers prayers in my life everyday. Today after a hard day at work DH cooked dinner on the grill, so I didn't have to cook.

Yes He does answer our prayers everyday. I hadn't really prayed for this but my blessing for today is that my out of town niece come up to spend a couple of day with us! Of coarse, I pray for all 13 of my nieces and nephews all the time! The lights of my life :pixiedust:
We are use to her been with us for several weeks each simmer. The last time she was here was in the spring. She is in that summer between high school and collage, so she has been very busy. Only been home a few days. Happy that she is here!
She is very talkative :kimgrill: And very FUN!

Sorry not to have gotten here earlier. Good news about the interview! Have an update? Nice that you are up a bit - take it easy.

Hey everyone - - >
Having my own health issues. All very boring and long but I've
devolved a new nerve problem. I've had other central nervous system problems for a long time. Every couple of years something new breaks through. This is the new trouble.
Started in May took awhile to figure it out
http://www.tna-support.org/ (http://www.tna-support.org/)
I'm already on meds but they started me on Tegretol. So I've been trying to adjust to that. Might be fuzzy for a few days - sorry :)

I've been great. We got a new puppy to add to our family. I'm ready to go back to work as a teacher's aide. I'm tired of working in an office like I've been this summer. I love kids, and I know my gift is to teach kids. I wish I could have found a teaching job this year, but at least God has given me an opportunity to be an aide again.

*duplicate of what I put in my journal*
Erik picked up a 2nd job to help pay for stuff but it's not really making much...:shuffle: but GOD has blessed us... my dad was supposed to deposit $1425 into my account and then pay $1100 on the day of our wedding... well he called me up to let me know that he's just going to go ahead and deposit $2700  which gives us some padding... BUT WAIT, it gets better... Erik's sister calls to see how everything is going and he tells her of our financial woes and she says, well I haven't bought you guys a gift yet... would it be ok if I just pay for all the beer/wine/water/soda. So that makes up for Erik being off work (without pay) for the honeymoon! :disco:

Where There Is Love

Song of Ruth

Wherever you go, I shall go.
Wherever you live, so shall I live.
Your people will be my people,
And your God will be my God too.

Wherever you die, I shall die.
And there shall I be buried beside you.
We will be together forever;
And our love will be the gift of our lives.
( repeat 2 )

We will be together forever;
And our love will be the gift of our lives.

Shine On Us
Lord, let your light, light of your face, shine on us
Lord, let your light, light of your face, shine on us

That we may be saved, that we may have light,
to find our way in the darkest night,
let your light shine on us.

Lord, let your grace, grace from your hand, shine on us
Lord, let your grace, grace from your hand, shine on us

That we may be saved, that we may have light,
to find our way in the darkest night,
let your grace fall on us.

Lord, let your love, love with no end, come over us
Lord, let your love, love with no end, come over us

That we may be saved, that we may have light,
to find our way in the darkest night,
let your love come over us, let your light shine on us.

The Prayer
I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don’t know

Let this be our prayer
As we go our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we’ll be safe

I pray we’ll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When stars go out each night
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace

Give us faith so we’ll be safe.

We ask that life be kind
And watch us from above
We hope each soul will find
Another soul to love
prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child
Let this be our

If you say go, I will go
If you say wait, I will wait

If you say step out on the water
and they say it can't be done

We'll fix our eyes on you and we will come.

Your ways... are higher than our ways
and the plans that you have laid are good and true...

My goodness!! Why have I not been getting updates on this thread?? First of all, hello to everyone! Again!

May I add to the choir?

Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where the streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Blessed be your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name

I LOVE this song by Matt Redman. I have been suffering from depression since I was a teen, and it flared up BIG TIME again just a few weeks ago. But through my husband, God kicked my butt (as he tends to do). My mood has improved, my thoughts have improved, and he's brought me out of the depression... Praise be to God!! :)

QOD - How has God worked in your life lately?

Andrea
08-23-2006, 04:26 PM
WOW...i wouldn't say that im depressed really, but im on anti depressants to stablize my mood and stuff. I am currently praying to be able to get off them...oh lord..how i wish i could. ANYWAYS God has worked totally in my family's life. Both my brother and I have gotten new jobs. I got a job as a dispatcher, making 10 bux an hour WITH benfits.

Erie...I LOVE that song.

Come, now is the time to worship, Come, now is the time to give your heart
Come, just as you are to worship, come just as you are before your God
COME!

One day every tongue will confess you are God
One day every knee will bow
.....

I used to HATE that song, because when it first came out, it was sooooo over played in our church

Millions of songs running through my head as I'm reading this guys LOL Love it!

My New Favorite is Casting Crowns "Praise you in This Storm"

I was sure by now
You would have reached down
Wiped our tears away
Stepped in and Saved the day
But once again, I say Amen
And it's still raining.
As the thunder rolls,
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
I'm with you
And as your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise a God who Gives
And Takes Away

I'll praise you in this storm
I will lift my hands
You are who you are
No matter where I am!
And every tear I cry
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm!

Hi ladies! Sorry I have been away for such a long, LONG time!!

This is one of my all time favorite songs.

Artist: MercyMe
Album : Almost There
Song: I Can Only Imagine

Lyrics :

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

{Chorus}:
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

Andrea

that is a VERY popular song

another one of my absolute favourites...always has been always will be

Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
Can't believe the hopes He's granted
Means a chapter in your life is through

But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

Chorus:
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say "never"
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.

With the faith and love God's given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you'll live in
Is the strength that now you show

But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

Chorus:
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them.
And a friend will not say "never"
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hand we know
That a lifetime's not to long to live as friends

God has been working in my life lately and I still haven't figured out what he's doing. This year I was placed in the elementary severe and profound room as a teacher's aide. I really don't know why yet, because I haven't had much experience working with that group of special needs, although I think I'm going to like it. I also praise God that we're getting connected to a great small group of Christians our age at our church.

Here's one of my favorite Worship songs:

Ancient of Days
Blessing and honor, glory and power
be unto the Ancient of Days
From every nation, all of creation,
bow before the Ancient of Days
Every tongue in heaven and earth
shall declare your glory
Every knee will bow at Your throne in worship,
You will be exalted, oh, God
and Your kingdom will not pass away,
Oh, Ancient of Days

Know I haven't been around here much ladies. But I think of you all often.
collegegal - How's the job working out? hope all is happy!
I've enjoyed reading all of your favorite songs. Here is a couple that have touched me lately. Been going through a rough patch with this TN and new medications.

From: ABIDE WITH ME
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

And LEAD ME, SAVIOR
Savior, lead me, lest I stray,
Gently lead me all the way;
I am safe when by Thy side,
I would in Thy love abide.
Lead me, lead me, Savior, lead me lest I stray;
Gently down the stream of time,
Lead me, Savior, all the way.
Thou the refuge of my soul
When life’s stormy billows roll;
I am safe when Thou art nigh,
All my hopes on Thee rely.

Savior, lead me, then at last,
When the storm of life is past,
To the land of endless day,
Where all tears are wiped away.

Our trainer would call us and we would have to take the call. There is a lot to remember...and I know that it will all come with time...but its hard to remember all the key strokes....

Anyways, as per the thread. I was really praying for my decision of what i really should do regarding my job at sobeys. When I first went for this interview for the new job, she told me for the first lil while, i should keep sobeys. Well I found out yesterday that they've got a new contract with lots of customers so they need a lot of extra ppl...so needless to say...God has a really funny humour...i th ink he knew i absolutely hated sobeys and wanted to get out of there so bad.

Collegegal, you sound like you are exactly where I was a month ago.

Romans 1:7: dear friends in Rome. God loves you dearly, and he has called you to be his very own people.
May grace and peace be yours from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:39: Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Timothy 1:9: It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan long before the world began--to show his love and kindness to us through Christ Jesus.

I hope any of these help. None of us will ever deserve God's love. But it is through His mercy and grace that we are saved. I have a book that I'm reading right now that talks about depression in Christians, and it says that if God sacrificed His only son, and YOU were the ONLY person that was saved by it, it would be worth it to Him. He loves you that much. And as for Antidepressants, what if you had diabetes? Would you take medication for that? Or cancer? Would you take medication? Depression is not only an emotional problem, but physiological as well. Girlie, there's something in your brain (and mine!) that just ain't right!! I've been on antidepressants for almost 10 years now (off and on).

Sorry about the rant. I just wanted to share some things with you. With all of you. We have ALL been chosen as God's daughters. We were not born randomly, but God adopted us all into His family. He chose each one of us specifically and purposefully!

Praise the Lord!!!

Mimzy... Abide with Me was my Grandmother's favorite song... everytime I hear it or sing it I think of her.

At my church we only sing hymns not worship music... I do have favorite hymns too! I just love this song

Jesus Hold My Hand

As I travel through this pilgrim land there is a Friend who goes with me.
Leads me safely thro' the sinking sand, it is the Christ of Calvary.
This would be my pray'r, dear Lord, each day to help me do the best I can,
For I need Thy light to guide me day and night, Blessed Jesus, hold my hand.
CHORUS:

Je-------sus, hold my hand, I need Thee ev'ry hour,
(Blessed Jesus, hold my hand) (Yes, I need Thee ev'ry hour)
Thru this pilgrim land Protect my by Thy pow'r.
(Thru this land, this pilgrim land ----By Thy saving pow'r.)
Hear my feeble plea, O Lord, look down on me.
(Hear my plea, my feeble plea, Lord, dear Lord, Look down on me)
When I kneel in pray'r I hope to meet you there,
(When I kneel in prayer)
Blessed Jesus, hold my hand.

2. Let me travel in the light divine that I may see the blessed way;
Keep me that I may be wholly Thine and sing redemption's song some day.
I will be a soldier brave and true and ever firmly take a stand,
As I onward go and daily meet the foe, Blessed Jesus, hold my hand.

CHORUS:

3. When I wander thru the valley dim toward the setting of the sun,
Lead me safely to a land of rest if I a crown of life have won;
I have put my faith in Thee, dear Lord, that I may reach the golden strand,
There's no other Friend on whom I can depend, Blessed Jesus, hold my hand.

CHORUS:

Will be praying for you! You are not the first Christian to be on anitdepressants and it's okay to be on them. Being on Antidepressants doesn't make you love Christ any less and doesn't make Him love you any less! If you feel terribly about it and you find yourself beating yourself up about it I urge you to PRAY right then and there. That is our ultimate weapon, take it to God and lay at HIS feet, don't bear it by yourself!

collegegal - Happy that the job is working - all new work takes time for us to settle into. As far as the "horrible Christian" - if you have asked God's forgiveness then ALL is taken care of.
HisBlue & Winter_Bride - I couldn't have said any of that better! The scriptures are perfect and so is all the advice! Well said!

This new medication is for face nerve damage. It is very hard on me! Makes me feel like a mushy zombie.
I don't really sleep right after I take it but I'm not good for anything else but to sit and drift. Not so fun.
But it is starting to work - it is a wait and see thing.

collegegal - case in point -Am I "horrible Christian" for tending to this medical problem? Should I not have gotten an MRI? I believe the our God has give some people the smarts and wisdom to understand how we are made and how to cure some illnesses.

And I LOVE the Mimzy makes - depression is a disease. It's not just an emotional state (as I had mentioned as well). She needs to take medication, I need to take medication, you need to take medication :)

The book I'm reading is called "Seeing in the Dark" by Gary Kinnaman, and Richard Jacobs. It's REALLY good, and I would REALLY reccomend it! It talks a lot about depression in Christians. There's a lot more of us out there than you think! :)

Beneath the starry skies ablaze with light
Within your soul love's tender words I'll hide
I'll walk beside you through the eventide.
I'll walk beside you through the passing years
Through days of clouds and sunshine, joy and tears
And when the great call comes the sunset gleams
I'll walk beside you to the land of dreams

Thank you.

Well my father showed up to the church on time and he was very active in the Bible Study. I was glad to see that! :heee: But towards the end he started to fall asleep. which is normal for my dad I guess (can't take him anywhere he ALWAYS falls asleep in public LOL)

He said he very much enjoyed going to church and that he would like to come again. I really hope he meant it!

The BBQ went well as well. I really enjoyed playing hostess! So everything went pretty decently and hopefully we'll get my dad to be able to come back to church again!

i shared with Damian tonite the burden that lays on my heart...i would LOVE for him to come to church but hes the type that you just can't force him...he will get turned off even more...so anyways, i shared with him that it was time we either make a decision of him coming to church or we put our relationship on hold...which would be incredibly diffcult but it would have to be done. he informed me that he has been thinking alot as he does know it means a lot to me, but that i just have to give him more time and take it one day at a time...WOW i cried...before if i woudl've mentioned this he said yes ya whatever....

:jump4joy: I'm so happy that the day went well. Good sign that he was active during Bible study. Hope he comes again. If not this was a good start. I was thinking of you Sunday - said a prayer.

Kelly - we need you around here - come often :)

Kelly- you're welcome around here any time.

I'm teaching the preschool class and our church for the first time this Sunday. I've been involved at children's ministry at many other churches, but took a break for a while when I was in between churches. Now I feel that I'm ready to use my gifts again. I'm going to teach class ever other week, so I can go to church with DH sometimes also. We are really involved in our small group, which is great because DH would have nothing to do with bible studies and stuff before.

ill bring you more then a song, for a song in itself....

haha stacie was jealous that she wasn't included in thsi last time we did this, because she was on her honeymoon, so i started it again.

Anyways, the reason i came on here for a quick sec was...I was just watching the news. There was a brutal shooting in Montreal where 20 were injured I think a few dead, anyways. I just wanted to bring this back us and reflect on it. There were mentioning the columbine shooting where, I think her name was Rachel wasa GREAT role model of a martyr...I think thats how you spell it, anyways, she was shot because she admitted to have a relationship with Jesus. WOW...that made me have tears...

that brings me to the next question...would you guys do that?

-->Kat<--
09-13-2006, 05:32 PM
absolutely... I'm nothing without Jesus and would never deny him or our relationship

Winter_Bride
09-13-2006, 05:40 PM
Wow. I would LOVE to say I would do that. I WANT that to be my automatic response. But I have to admit that although I'm sure I would, it would be after slight hesitation...

*Stacie*
09-13-2006, 05:47 PM
Erie, at least you are being totally honest!!! I think it would be hard NOT to hesitate.

I remember in grade 9 when that happened thinking that I would do the exact same thing.. but I might hestitate for a second as well.. but then I have to remember Jesus didn't hesitate for me.

Winter_Bride
09-13-2006, 05:54 PM
but then I have to remember Jesus didn't hesitate for me.

:mecry:

*Stacie*
09-13-2006, 06:05 PM
I wasn't saying that to make you sad or hurt your feelings... I SWEAR!! I'm so sorry!!!! I was just telling myself that... oh man, I feel terrible.. I'm so sorry Erie. Jesus knows it would be our first reaction because we are human and not perfect like Him. So I think it is normal to hesitate, and you certainly wouldn't go to hell for it.

Ok.. I'm sorry to make you sad :( Please know I was not trying to condemn you at all!!

*Stacie*
09-13-2006, 06:06 PM
But remember Jesus in the garden the night before and he was praying.. I think he was scared too!! So it is normal... please don't be sad!

Andrea
09-13-2006, 06:07 PM
WOW ok im gunna answer my own question...im with erie...altho im totally gungho over jesus, i would definately hesitate, as i think most ppl would

Andrea
09-13-2006, 06:08 PM
But remember Jesus in the garden the night before and he was praying.. I think he was scared too!! So it is normal... please don't be sad!

i was actually JUST thinking about that....

*Stacie*
09-13-2006, 06:10 PM

Winter_Bride
09-13-2006, 06:47 PM
NO NO NO!! I just meant that the last part you wrote, about how Jesus didn't hesitate, well it really spoke to me.

Even as he was in the garden and terrified, he never did hesitate! That spoke to me!!

Stacie, I don't feel condemmed! Not one bit, not at all! Don't worry! I'm sorry you misunderstood! I should have explained better!!!!

Stacie, that was just such a prophetic thing to say!

*Stacie*
09-13-2006, 06:53 PM
Ok *phew*

I just know how things can get lost in translation over the internet and I didn't want any hurt feelings.. so I just wanted to make extra sure you were ok!! Sorry if I seemed a little excessive.. I even sent you an e-card. Ya.. I hate the thought of someone being upset with me.

:bighug:

TeenieBeanie
09-13-2006, 07:58 PM
I would probably hesitate myself for a second. Mainly because I'd hate to leave my loved ones, even though I'd see them again one day. I think it's really human nature to be scared & hesitate when it comes to something like that.

And what Stacie said brought tears to my eyes as well.

So ladies...I need a DEFINATE prayer request. My mom told me last nite that we needed to PRAY for our pastor as he's really stressed out. She didn't tell me why, obviously because its none of my business, but my mom is best friend with his wife so ya. ANYWAYS, I found out tonite why we need to pray for him and the elders actually.

They had to make a really tough decision this week.

There is this couple in our church. They've been together 11 years. They have a 5 or 6 yr old daughter who is a miracle because shes had so many MC's but anyways. She was pregnant with her second, surprisingly enuf when she found out her husband had been cheating on her for a few months already. WOW...she was LIVID and filed for divorce immediately. But then again, I think I almost would too, because with one small one and another on the way...who knows, but anyways. Come to find out, the lady that he committed adultery on his wife with, is another from IN OUT CHURCH, who was also married. He said right from the start that he has done nothing wrong and doesn't want to reconcile with his wife. So anyways, the elders approached him on this a long time ago and this is when he didn't see what he was doing. They ask him if he needs counseling and they pray over him. They obviously still love him as christians do rite :) we love unconditionally, or atleast we try too LOL :D
He sorta disappeared for a while but now in the last 3 months hes been coming back to church WITH this other gurl (whom used to be a member of our church as i said before). He still acts as if nothing is wrong so the elders approach him because of his rebellious attitude which is HUGE. hes such a bum...anyways. They have asked him to leave the church because he's bringing a presence that just isn't needed...and I just cry talking and tinking about it. I pray all the time for his gurls because what the heck is this teaching them. The "wife" may be covering up, but she seems to be doing soooo amazingly well. Anyways, please pray alrite...thanx gurls

Hello everyone! Just came in to check on ya'll. I've prayed for all concerns listed! It's an honor to be able to pray for you ladies!

God has been working WONDERS in my life as of lately. I have been out of a job for nearly 4 months now, and DH and I are doing just fine finicially (It's a little rough but we are certainly making it, thanks to God's grace!) and I have had a WONDERFUL oppurtunity to make the house we live in a home! This home isn't the best house ever, but I'm slowly cleaning it up and getting it better and ready for children!

I have felt an overwhelming urge lately to become pregnant, which has been difficult for me, since our home has a long way to go before it will be suitable to bring a child into it. But the Lord has dones something amazing! I believe he has given me this need to have children to motivate me into making this house WONDERFUL for us! Praise God! He knows so much more than I do! Anyway, if any of you feel led, please pray for DH and I, that we are able to know and follow God's will for us!

Mostly my kitchen is in the works. However, I'm also going on a spider rampage as well. Trying to remove the cobwebs and spiders from this house! It's SCARY SCARY work! I have 2 rooms left, the room that will be the baby's room and the living room. I have assigned DH to do the living room. I tried it once... can't do it anymore.

Washing walls are my biggest projects lately. Every wall needs to be washed or scraped in preparations for painting! :jump4joy: I think once there is new paint on my walls that will make a HUGE difference. It hasn't been done in a very long time... besides the kitchen and bathroom are a horrible yellow.

I need prayer gals...

I am SO DESPERATE to have a baby. I just took one of those "4 days before you mensturate" tests 2 days before I'm due, and it came back negative. And I'm really dissapointed. I KNOW this is our FIRST MONTH off BC, but I'm so upset!

PLEASE pray that God will help me to be patient. I'm just frustrated because I've wanted a baby for so long, and now that we're trying it consumes my every thought, and we aren't yet.

Again, I know how silly I'm being. We've been trying for a MONTH, and you aren't even SUPPOSED to get pregnant in your first month off the pill... But it hurts!

Please pray for me!

-->Kat<--
09-18-2006, 05:53 PM

Spiders? :errrr: good luck! Paint will help so much! Washing the walls is aways hard work but pays off big at the end. If you have a room - like a bathroom or around windows that gets mildew - there is this great stuff. You buy it at the paint counter. It's a mildew sealant. Works wonders! But be forewarned - it will leak under the paint tape! Be carful and give a little room around that tape. Learned this lesson the hard way! What are your paint color/style plans?

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!

I'm going with a tan and blue scheme... tan for our bedroom, blue for the kitchen, tan and blue for the bathroom and blue for the baby room... the living room already has brown paneling in it that we have decided to keep up, for now anyway (I may change my mind later) I will make sure to check out that mildew sealant! It's absolutely GORGEOUS...i will load pictures here when i get home from work, but because of the sleeves on her dress (3/4 length, then DROPPY like and old medival dress) it made her look like an angel

There's been a lot going on with you girls. I think I've updated myself on all the prayer requests and prayed for them.

I'm also TTC and haven't had any luck yet, and it's been 7 months of not trying to hard but still trying. Wish you babydust Erie. It always bothers me that there are people who don't want kids and don't take care of kids having tons of kids and those who want children and will be great parents can't or have trouble having kids.

I grew up with a deaf church in my church building. I remember learning sign language young, but then I never used it so forgot most of it. Now I work with disabled kids and use some sign language. I really love sign language to music. It really makes you feel songs.

pretty good... our church still hasn't annouced our marriage, but then again we were teaching children's church on Sunday so they couldn't actually do it on that day... but still, it's been a month! And we'll be in childrens church for the next 3 Sunday's so we'll be at 2 months before we're back in big church... I don't think we'll ever get announced

Erik says that it's no biggie, but I want to make sure that our church has us in their prayers... the first year of marriage can be rough, we're doing good, but extra support is always welcomed. Plus the three couples that got married right before us have been announced, so I want that too. I'll mention it when we're back in big church in 3 weeks.

Thanks for listening to my rant Stacie.

Waiting for Thursday!!!!! For those of you who don't know - we started trying, and I STILL haven't gotten my first AF from being off the pill (It will be two weeks late this Wednesday). Thursday I have a Dr's appointment, because I'm TIRED ALL THE TIME, and that's it - no other symptoms! So if I'm NOT pregnant, I want to know what's going on!

So the MINUTE I get results, I'm comin' on here to tell y'all what's going on!! :)

QOD: How did you get called to Him? (for those who believe in being reborn - what's your story?) If you don't know the answer to that one, then tell us the time that you could most feel God

:jawdrop: I missed the last page!! Kat, I'm so sorry! Can you ask one of the elders or put in a prayer request? Even though an amazing event like that SHOULD be recognized and congradulated (and let God's love for us be praised!!), you should at least know you have the love and support of your congregation behind you! :)

I can mention it to our pastor (he attended our wedding and said grace) and his assistant (he married Erik & I)... but I feel kind of weird, like I'm being a glory hound :shuffle:

I think I'll mention it though cause it is bugging me... but I'll wait until we're back in big church.

Looking forward to hearing your results Erie... remember... Gods will be done

You're not, don't worry! You just want prayer! And I aggree - the first year was A HUGE thing for us! We scraped, a lot - but it's because it's the joining of two compeletely different lives, right? You're combining two households, and two independant people, and now making huge decisions and learning to create new dynamics, and that's without counting the child/stepchild!!! :)

Not that I'm trying to scare you! At all! I'm just saying you're totally right in wanting prayer and support :) That's what the congregation is there for!!

Now answer the QOD!

She is tough that girl!!!

QOD: How did you get called to Him?

I answered an alter call when I was 2 years old at our church. My mom and family have always said how I have always been so in-tune with the holy spirit. I used to see angels and demons. The demons I would see in the form of wolves or clowns. I would be 2 years old and tell my Mom or Grandma "They have a clown on their back" and they would immediately start to pray. I told my Mom I saw Jesus one night at church standing with our pastor. I wanted to have Him live inside of me! So I answered the alter call and then later on was baptized in the holy spirit and spoke in tongues.

There have been times I have felt closer to God than others. And then I know I have to start spending time with Him more when I start to feel like I have pulled away.
