Hi all!

I'm finally going to start my WDS! It'll probably take me a little while to get through everything. I'll keep the actual story to a minimum and add tons of pictures, since I know they're the most important part!

The Hair Fiasco!

I went for my final hair trial on Monday the 11th. It turned out horribly!! I cried and cried... the lady wouldn't do what I wanted and insisted that I needed all my hair on top of my head. I felt like I couldn't say anything because she was a friend of Tim's mom and she made it obvious everytime I went that she thought I was a huge snob. She kept saying, "It's just one day, I don't see why you care so much.". She was planning on coming to the hotel to do everyones hair and it was just so convenient. Plus I thought it would have been impossible to get a spot at a good salon that late.

After having no luck calling on my own, I enlisted the help of my MOH who called around and got me into one of the best salon's in WNY! It was for 10 am for the day of the wedding- perfect timing! I was even able to get a hair trial appointment for that Thursday. I still don't know how she did it, but I was just so thankful! Unfortunately, I was still going to need to have her do the girls and my MIL hair. I told my MIL i just didn't think we would have enough time and I was going to have my hair done elsewhere to save time. She broke the news to the hairstylist, so I didn't have to worry about that- thank goodness!

Wednesday, the 13th, I woke up with the worst backache. I couldn't even move. Getting out of bed took forever and it hurt to walk. I thought it was just stiff and that it would get better as the day went on. We met with the photographer at 10, got done at 11, and then went to buy the camera we wanted at Best Buy. My back was still killing me so I called my chiropractor and begged for an appointment asap. They got me in within the hour. I completely threw my back out and felt so much better afterward.

After that we went home and my MOH came over to help me finish my place cards. Tim and I then organized everything that needed to go to the church and reception venue. I didn't realize how much stuff we had, it filled Tim's entire Durango.

Thursday, the 14th, we dropped everything off at the venue. It took hours because I was so specific about how I wanted everything. They tagged everything and took really good notes. We ran a couple more errands and then my MOH took me to my hair trial. It looked awesome!! I was so happy!! They girl was so sweet too. My MOH and I then went and got manis and pedis.

That night we thought we had everything pretty much done, so we went out to watch some friends in their volleyball league and have some drinks. It was so nice to hang out with everyone! I was exhausted though and came home and went to bed, while Tim went out for a few more hours.

Friday morning I got up and went grocery shopping. I got sandwich stuff and snacks for the hotel where us girls would be getting ready and for the house where the boys would be getting ready. I also got a cake and cupcakes since my brother's birthday was the day before and I was too busy to go to lunch with my family the day before. I was carrying all the groceries inside and then proceeded to trip on the steps! I mushed all the cupcakes, chipped my manicure and scratched the polish on my toes. I was so upset!! I called my MOH and asked her to pick up new cupcakes for me.

Then I went and picked up my MaOH who had just gotten into town. I decided that I wanted to get my brother a birthday present. We went shopping at the mall and got him some clothes, fancy pens and a leather folder thing (he was starting a new office job the next week). On the way home I was passing a home brewing store, stopped and bought Tim a home brewing kit as another wedding gift. I also had to pick up the robes I had embroidered for the girls and bouquet ribbon I had monogrammed. The place messed up my bouquet ribbon. I was SO upset since I was having kind of a monogramed themed wedding. They gave it to me for free but I was still so mad!

A bunch of us girls went to lunch after all that. It was so nice just to relax and have some drinks!

After lunch, we all went back to my house to pack everything up and take it to the hotel. It took a lot longer than I hoped and we were SO late! I started to cry when I saw Tim, I was just so stressed!

We finally got to the hotel. The girls sent me upstairs to shower and get ready for rehearsal while they unpacked the car for me. I was so appreciative. I still didn't have time to do my hair or anything but I was in a dress with make-up on. Fine with me I guess. We finally get to rehearsal.

The photographer was at the rehearsal, but I don't have any of his pics for some reason. I'll have to ask about them!

We all went to the rehearsal dinner. It was at the restaurant Tim and I went to on our first date and the day that he proposed, so it was special to us. The food was great and we had our own bartender.

The RD was supposed to last until 10 but we were so tired... the girls and I left at quarter to 10. We wanted to have time in the hot tub at the hotel!

We got to the hotel and unfortunately the pool and hot tub closed at 10. We asked nicely and they let us in though. We had the whole pool and hot tub to ourselves! We relaxed in their for awhile.

After that we went to bed. I thought I would have a hard time sleeping, but I had no problems. I was so tired from the last few days that I was asleep as soon as I put my head down.

The next morning- my wedding day!! I woke up at 5:30. I was so awake and excited for the day. The alarm wasn't supposed to go off until 7 though, so I quietly took a shower, whitened my teeth once more and did a few other things while the girls slept.

Finally the alarm went off and the girls all woke up. We still had time to lounge around a bit.

On to the reception! Our reception was held at Samuel's Grande Manor and we had 275 guests. The only things I was unhappy about from the whole day were the centerpieces. I paid SO much money and they were so small and not in the colors I requested. My church altar pieces were the same price and they were so much bigger. I wouldn't have been so mad, but I told the florist what I wanted (with pictures), my budget and that if she needed more money to accomplish what I needed- tell me and I could arrange it. She came in at $400 under my budget and still didn't do what I wanted.

We had a cocktail hour from 6-7 and we had them set up a second bar outside. It was nice that people got to hang out outside before dinner.

We had the best DJ- he's a personality for a local radio station and all the guests loved him. He told little stories or said interesting facts about each member of the wedding party during introductions. Most of them were funny so the guests got some good laughs. Everyone loved that he did that!

Love Sweet Love sign that was on the candy buffet. We had a huge candy buffet for the guests. It had 20 different kinds of candy in all sorts of different containers from AC Moore. We had over 250 lbs of candy including some retro ones that I special ordered from a local candy shop. The guests LOVED it! Seriously, it was so expensive, but so worth it. The people were blown away.

We had flaming baked Alaska flambe for dessert. The banquet staff had a whole dance routine set to the song "Hot, Hot, Hot" while they carried around huge trays of the flaming dessert. They turned off the lights for the full effect. Very fun!

After dinner, we played a game that the DJ requested. I originally said no when I first heard it at our meeting, but Tim loved the idea so I agreed.

We had to call up a couple that was newly dating, another that was newly married and one that had been married a long time. They had to come up and kiss. Whatever they did, we had to do.
